The main hall of the Frosttown Church has been cleaned.

The ground, washed by water magic, shimmered with a faint light, illuminating the entire cleaned space.

Wayne stood in front of the podium.

Several girls stood below, watching him.

"Let's begin," he said.

Mayfair stepped forward and stood to his side. Her black nun's habit was spotless, and her hair was neatly tucked into her headscarf.

Wayne opened the scroll in his hand.

It was a copy of the "Divine Word of the Goddess" that the church had uniformly issued, brought by Audrian. He turned to the page about the oath and glanced at the text.

The formal oath-taking ceremony began.

"Goddess above."

His voice wasn't loud, but it echoed in the empty church.

Several girls straightened their backs at the same time.

"Today, with the goddess as my witness, I, Wayne, am officially appointed as the Bishop of Frosttown."

He paused.

"May the Goddess bless the believers here, may the Goddess bless the people here, may the Goddess bless all who need her protection."

Close the book.

The ceremony has ended.

Emma blinked.

"Is it over?"

Wayne looked at her.

"It's over."

"So fast?"

"It's just a ceremony, a formality."

Lillian laughed out loud from the side.

"You're really doing a terrible job as a bishop..."

She paused, unable to find the right words.

Mayfair spoke.

"Your Excellency, Bishop."

Wayne looked at her.

Mayfair's voice was a little slower than usual.

May the goddess protect you.

Wayne nodded.

"Thanks."

Several girls followed Mayfair's example and started talking all at once.

"May the goddess protect my master!"

"May Goddess bless Mr. Wayne!"

"May the goddess protect... uh... Your Excellency the Bishop?"

"Alright," he said, "go do what you were doing."

The girls dispersed.

Wayne sat down in the chair behind the podium.

Close your eyes.

The panel appeared.

[The inauguration ceremony has been completed]

The Frosttown Church is now officially operational.

[Currently available recruits: 0]

Current number of believers: 0

[Current church condition: dilapidated (in need of repair)]

[Note: You are now the Bishop of Frosthamn. In theory, you are responsible for all church affairs in Frosthamn. In reality, you need to survive first.]

He leaned back in his chair, looking at the statue of a saint above him with a missing hand, his thoughts racing.

Increase strength.

This is the most important thing he should be doing right now.

After the battle with the Mountain King Serpent, he figured out his current level, which was probably the late stage of a third-tier warrior.

He could fight a third-tier magical beast bare-handed, but the victory was hard-won. If it weren't for Ella and Emma blocking the snake's attack, and if it weren't for Lillian's petrification ability and that bottle of poison, he would have been in considerable danger.

Strong body fluid.

That was the potion recipe he'd been drinking for years. It was given to him by the panel and combined with his water magic. Drinking it enhanced his physical strength and improved his regenerative abilities.

He drank from level one to level three.

From being able to withstand only one punch to being able to fight head-on with a third-tier magical beast.

But now, that formula doesn't work anymore.

Wayne opened his eyes.

Dragon Blood Tempering Potion.

The recipe is indeed in the panel, but it's been sitting unused for a long time. There are seven ingredients in total. The other six are easy to find; they can be bought on the market or exchanged for other potions. The only one that's difficult to find is the main ingredient, Dragon Blood Vine.

These things only grow in places where magical beasts gather, and the fiercer the place, the more there are. They exist deep within the Frost Mountains, and grow in vast swathes after a magical tide erupts. The problem is, it's easy to get in, but difficult to get out.

He never dared to dream of this when he was in Audrey.

We are currently in Frosttown.

What we have no shortage of are places where monsters gather.

I'll definitely collect them properly when I have the chance.

Footsteps sounded outside the door, and Emma poked her head in.

"Master, dinner's ready."

Wayne stood up.

The dining area is in the courtyard.

Vera stewed another pot, this time adding some dried wild vegetables she bought from town, making it even more fragrant than yesterday. Several girls sat in a circle around the tattered table, holding their bowls and eating with their heads down.

Wayne sat down and picked up his bowl.

Emma came closer.

"Master, what are we doing this afternoon?"

Wayne swallowed a mouthful of soup.

"Let's go out for a walk."

"Where to?"

"In town."

Emma's eyes lit up.

"I'm going too!"

Ella gently tugged at her sister's sleeve.

"Master is out on business, don't cause trouble."

Emma pouted.

"I just wanted to see..."

Wayne put down his bowl.

Let's go together.

Both girls looked up at him at the same time.

Wayne continued, "Since you're new here, go out and familiarize yourselves with the way."

Emma grinned.

"Very good!"

Lillian raised her hand beside her.

"I'm going too!"

Wayne looked at her.

"Aren't you sleepy anymore?"

Lillian blinked.

"I'm not sleepy anymore after eating."

Wayne didn't say anything and stood up.

"Eat and leave."

The streets of Frost Town were a bit busier than when he passed through yesterday.

The sun came out, and although it wasn't very warm, at least it was bright. There were more people on the street than in the morning, most shops were open, people were going in and out of the tavern, and the clanging of hammering metal could be heard from the blacksmith's shop.

Wayne walked in front, followed by a string of people.

Ella and Emma walked on either side of them, their dark eyes darting around. Lillian walked beside them, occasionally pointing to a shop and asking, "What's that?" Vera brought up the rear, carrying a basket, saying she was going to buy groceries.

Mayfair didn't come.

She said she wanted to stay at the church to tidy up her things.

People on the street all looked at Wayne when they saw this group of people, for no other reason than that he was young and good-looking.

"The new bishop."

"Bringing so many women?"

"Are those nuns?"

"No, it doesn't look like it, it's too small."

The panel popped up at this point.

[Hanshuang Town Public Opinion Monitoring - Street Scene]

[Tavern Owner: "A new bishop? I've heard. He's with a bunch of little girls, the youngest two look only twelve or thirteen."]

[Tavern B: "Ha, from the church, what good stuff can they have? My cousin lived up south, and he said there was a priest who took in orphans, and once they grew up..."]

[Tavern C: "Do you think this new guy might be one of them?"]

[Tavern B: "Definitely. Look at the girls he brought, they're all pretty decent-looking. What normal person would bring so many women to a run-down place like this?"]

[Tavern Owner A: "If you ask me, this kind of person should be killed."]

[Tavern Manager Ding: "Don't worry, we won't survive long here anyway. When the demonic tide comes, we're all doomed."]

[Note: The tavern owner who accused you of being a pedophile is himself a repeat offender. He specializes in trafficking teenagers and selling them as slaves in the mines across the mountains. The mayor knows but doesn't do anything about it because he gets a cut.]

The murmurs weren't loud, but they were audible.

Emma frowned, wanting to turn around and glare at those people, but Wayne raised his hand and pressed her down.

Ignore it.

Emma swallowed her words and continued walking.

When he reached a fork in the road, Wayne stopped.

To the left, you'll find the city gate and the western outer area.

To the right is the road up the mountain, leading to residential areas and the homes of the wealthy.

Emma looked up at him and asked.

"Master, which way should we go?"

Wayne turns right.

"Go up the mountain."

The road up the mountain was a bit colder than the road down.

The houses on both sides were noticeably better; they were no longer those dilapidated wooden huts, but stone structures, some even with yards. There were fewer people on the road, but they were dressed more neatly.

After walking for about fifteen minutes, the view suddenly opened up before us.

A square.

A group of people were gathered in the center of the square.

Wayne walked over.

The crowd was packed in layers, with men, women, and children of all ages, and shouts and cries could be heard from the innermost part.

"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!"

A rough, hoarse voice was shouting.

"Don't even think about leaving until you pay!"
