The terrifying heavens inside the box

Chapter 12 A New Beginning?

"A spokesperson."

Ripley didn't hide anything and gave a direct answer.

"Spokesperson? Who?" Noticing everyone in the car turning to look at him, Kurt was incredulous. "Me?"

"No! You're all crazy! I won't be a puppet that's just pushed out."

Kurt looked resistant and shook his head, rejecting the suggestion.

Marty suddenly realized something: "Wait a minute, so you mean you created that Giant God Cult?"

Ripley did not answer directly: "Those who have suffered psychological trauma clearly need a god to save them at this time."

"That doesn't mean they should be used like this by you!" Kurt's sense of justice still compelled him to speak up.

Horton, Marty, Jules, and Dinah nodded in agreement; their small group shared the same view.

Ripley remained calm: "We didn't use them, unless you believe that the previous 'miracle,' or the weapon in your hand, was fake, and that none of it existed."

Kurt was enraged by her words: "That's sophistry! You should disband that so-called cult of giants immediately! Otherwise, if you really attract the attention of that being in heaven, do you think you'll be in trouble?"

As he said this, he gripped the miniature hammer on his bracelet, which suddenly enlarged in his palm.

An electric current flickered on the hammer, just a finger's width from Ripley's face, but she showed no fear, calmly saying:

"You know what, Kurt? The most profound lesson we've learned over the years, in our desperate efforts to prevent the Old Gods from awakening, is..."

"Actually, they don't care about humans as much as you think."

"Even the one who saved you twice is most likely the same."

"What nonsense are you spouting?!" Kurt frowned.

Ripley moved her face away from behind the hammer and looked directly at him:

"Do you know what you look like right now?"

"Hero, savior."

"Throughout countless years, human history, myths, and legends have never lacked such people, especially when the human living environment is about to be destroyed."

"Do you know why they showed up?"

Upon hearing Ripley's question, the electric current in the hammer that Kurt had been raising subsided, and he slowly lowered it.

"What exactly do you mean?"

"It's very simple, Kurt. You were chosen by Him, just like those legendary heroes, those saviors of mankind."

"Otherwise, why did those two items end up in your hands? Why not someone else? Was it just because you were lucky? Or is that what you think too?"

Ripley's question left Kurt completely stunned.

He hadn't thought about these issues at a deeper level before, but now that they were suddenly brought up, an idea immediately popped into Kurt's mind:

Could it be... that I was really chosen?

……

Wang Hao shook his head outside the box.

The poor child was completely fooled and became crippled.

No wonder she's the lead actress from Alien; despite her age, her acting skills have only become more refined.

In a sense, she wasn't wrong, because Kurt and the others were indeed "chosen ones".

However, it was the person chosen by this "box".

Even Wang Hao couldn't change or interfere with this.

These are the most basic rules for boxes.

Thinking of this, he looked at the box again.

Ripley has once again unleashed his deceptive tactics...

……

"So, this spokesperson isn't someone we chose, but someone He chose."

"To agree or to refuse is your right."

Ripley played a trick of retreating first, and now it was Kurt and the others' turn to scratch their heads helplessly in the car.

"Why? What's the point?"

When they asked, a glint of light flashed in Ripley's eyes:

"There are some things that I should tell you."

"You did indeed severely wound an Old God, but beneath the earth, there are far more than one."

"These ancient gods, which have existed since ancient times, are like those monsters; they are unkillable, at least not by any means currently available to humankind."

"Except for you."

"Ripley" said, his eyes looking at the hammer in his hand.

Kurt noticed this glance and instinctively transformed the hammer back into its miniature form, holding it in his palm.

"So, what do you plan to have me do?"

Ripley turned around, sat in the passenger seat, and stared at the rearview mirror.

"It's very simple. Just give an interview and tell the truth about what happened that day... Of course, this does not include the sacrifice part."

"Also, do you have anything else to say about those two items? Perhaps we can find out something through our global channels, at least to learn about that being in the heavens."

Kurt immediately realized that these guys were after his hammer and chisel.

If they don't throw out something, they might have some other bad ideas they want to use against themselves.

With that thought in mind, he only revealed the names of the two artifacts.

After obtaining the information he wanted, Ripley didn't keep the five of them any longer. He had the group of burly men in black suits disperse the fanatical "Giant God Cult" followers, and the five of them took the opportunity to go to Kurt's house.

Seeing that there were outsiders present, his parents didn't feel comfortable asking directly what had happened earlier, so they turned around and greeted the four friends their son had brought.

As dusk fell, a satellite broadcasting van pulled up in front of the Kurt's house.

They thought it would be a simple interview, but they obviously didn't expect it to turn into a live broadcast.

The television in the room was broadcasting Kurt's interview live, along with footage from the broadcast studio.

Kurt's parents then learned that what had happened in the neighboring city a few days earlier was far more than just an earthquake or a sinkhole.

Upon hearing the news that the president had launched a nuclear missile at home, public anger was instantly ignited, and protests broke out in major cities one after another.

The original plan by the US government to take advantage of the chaos and confuse the public by suppressing news of the failed nuclear test was thus abandoned.

While the television station was interviewing Kurt, the "messenger of God," the broadcast studio also showed a "miracle" captured by a passerby.

The photo of "a giant hand holding a nuclear bomb" instantly became the headline news in the United States and even the world that day.

On the street outside Kurt's house, several believers who lingered were interviewed by reporters, allowing the name of this sect, which worships a "giant god," to spread further...

Wang Hao sat cross-legged outside the box, enjoying a bag of potato chips.

But just then, he suddenly noticed that something seemed wrong with the box; the scene in Kurt's house was inexplicably flickering.

This startled Wang Hao so much that he lost all interest in watching. He quickly threw the potato chips aside and removed the obstructive live-streaming stand.

He approached the box, his brow furrowed.

Amidst flashes of light, the scene inside the box completely changed.
