"I'm in Tokyo, and this is some kind of movie star comeback system?!"
Chapter 52 More Acting Than Me
Sakamoto Yu had just left Nakayama Miho's room when he looked up and saw his assistant waiting in the distance.
Seeing him come out, the assistant approached: "To Goto-san's room?"
Sakamoto Yu nodded, and his assistant led the way.
The two of them went to Goto's room, one after the other.
"Thank you for your help," the assistant said politely at the door.
He then walked to a spot a little further from the door to wait.
Sakamoto Yu nodded.
I took a deep breath, calmed myself down, and was about to raise my hand to knock on the door when I suddenly stopped.
【Ding】
[At forty, you're struggling to make ends meet, working part-time at an acting training school, teaching newcomers.]
[Task: Complete three acting coaching sessions (0/3)]
[Reward: Increased on-screen couple status]
[Effect: Such smooth on-screen chemistry is entirely due to the enhanced effect of the on-screen couple.]
It can be turned on/off manually, and when triggered, the CP compatibility increases by 20%.
The atmosphere created by this amplification subtly influences the other person's emotions and psychology, making it easier for them to get into character and develop a sense of closeness and rapport with you.
Sakamoto Yu paused in his knocking motion.
He started browsing silently.
Training newcomers? Three times already?
Sakamoto continued browsing and saw the words "closeness," reminding him that he also had a "friendliness" buff that increased by 20%.
I remember the day I acted with Yasuko Sawaguchi.
If both of these buffs were active at the same time...
He forced himself to suppress his thoughts.
Their attention returned to the mission rewards.
This thing should be used with caution.
Sakamoto Yu pondered for a moment.
However, with this, it should make it easier for Miho Nakayama to get into character when they act together later.
With the reward, Sakamoto Yu was even more motivated.
He composed himself and prepared to knock on the door.
But just then, the door opened from the inside.
Behind the door, Goto turned his head to look at him:
"What are you doing standing at the door?"
How did you know?
Goto didn't speak, but merely raised his eyes slightly, gesturing for him to look down.
Sakamoto looked down and realized that his shadow was stretched long by the light, reaching straight into the crack in the door.
"Did the director send you?"
Goto's expression turned cold, and his tone was clearly wary and distant.
Sakamoto-yako didn't beat around the bush and simply nodded.
"May I come in?"
"No." Goto refused almost immediately, her voice crisp. She paused, then added, "I'm not properly dressed."
Sakamoto Yu froze, his mind a little slow to process what was happening.
He subconsciously assumed that Goto was changing into his costume.
He nodded, took a step back, and was about to avoid it.
But at that moment, Goto had already stepped aside to clear the doorway.
Sakamoto Yu had no time to react.
"Fine, come in. You've seen this before anyway."
"?!"
Sakamoto Yu suddenly froze in place.
He immediately raised his hand to cover his eyes.
He also glanced down the corridor.
The assistant was far away and didn't hear the commotion.
"Acting this big? You're going too far." Sakamoto Yu put on a serious expression.
No one answered, and there was no sound from the surroundings.
"Pfft..."
After a while, a soft laugh was heard.
Goto covered his mouth and couldn't help but laugh out loud. The sound gradually grew louder and louder, eventually becoming a series of "silver bell" laughs.
This man is as gullible as ever.
At this point, Sakamoto Yu realized he had been tricked.
He was about to lower his hand, but then paused and lifted it up slightly, not daring to let go:
"Are you really wearing clothes?" he asked again to confirm.
"Hehehehe, you're dressed up." Goto laughed so hard he was shaking as he opened the door.
Sakamoto Yu spread his fingers and quickly glanced at it.
Seeing that Goto was dressed neatly, he breathed a sigh of relief and glared at her speechlessly.
His eyes were full of helplessness, as if he couldn't do anything about her.
A familiar atmosphere quietly spread between the two through their jokes, and the mood immediately warmed up.
"How are you, Sakamoto-san? Has my acting improved?" Goto turned and walked into the room, sitting down in a chair.
She lifted her foot in a completely unladylike manner and placed it on the chair's crossbeam.
Upon seeing her like this, Sakamoto Yu pointed at her and said, "Behave yourself, or someone will see you."
"Then close the door," Goto said dismissively.
"Why are you closing the door when you're alone with a man and a woman?" Sakamoto Yu left a large gap, just enough to see inside, but not Goto's figure.
Goto noticed this tiny detail, and a slight smile appeared on her lips.
"Is the director angry?" Goto asked in a low voice.
"Oh? You're scared now?" Sakamoto Yu didn't stand on ceremony and pulled over an empty chair to sit down.
"Stay for two more minutes and then come out with me." Sakamoto Yu glanced at the clock on the wall, his tone casual.
Goto pouted, "That's because she gave me attitude, I'm not going to give in to it."
"She took the lead herself, and I didn't say anything," she muttered to herself.
Sakamoto Yu didn't respond. Thinking of his mission, he asked her:
"Goto-san, how about we make a deal?"
"I'll teach you acting, and you shouldn't argue with her too much, okay?"
Upon hearing this, Kumiko Goto's eyes lit up, but she immediately concealed her emotions and pretended not to care.
Sakamoto Yu's acting skills are certainly not bad, given that he was able to gain recognition in a Taiga drama filled with talented actors.
Goto was also full of expectations for this.
However, she wasn't so easily appeased.
She glanced at Sakamoto Yu, her expression nonchalant, "That depends on what you're teaching."
Sakamoto Yu shrugged indifferently. "It's your decision."
Her eyes darted around, and she silently weighed the options in her mind.
"I want to learn...psychological acting." Goto thought for a long time before finally making his decision.
"Psychological acting? You can't learn that in a short time."
Sakamoto Yu stroked his chin thoughtfully. Goto, hearing this, felt a pang of disappointment. Sakamoto Yu noticed the look in her eyes, paused, and changed his words:
"But I have a way. Okay, deal!"
Goto, whose eyes had been lowered, suddenly raised them, his gaze shining.
"Really?!"
Sakamoto Yu nodded.
"Great!" Goto clapped his hands, looking quite excited.
"It's a deal then! No backing out."
Sakamoto Yu waved his hand, indicating that he would not go back on his word.
Just in time, Sakamoto Yu glanced at the clock, stood up, and said, "Let's go, it's time."
"Mm!" Goto replied cheerfully.
The two walked out of the room together, and after walking a short distance, they heard the sound of a door opening. Nakayama Miho just happened to open the door and come out.
Upon seeing Goto and Sakamoto Yu together, she stopped in her tracks.
She glanced at the door behind Sakamoto Yu and understood.
Miho Nakayama remained expressionless, gently closed the door behind her, and walked straight toward the two of them.
She ignored Sakamoto Yu, only giving Goto a polite smile, her tone calm and natural:
"I was too tense before. Let's both relax and cooperate from now on."
Goto was taken aback by her attitude, but his expression remained calm, and he returned a polite smile:
"Yeah, I was a little impatient just now. Don't take it to heart, let's rehearse properly."
The two women had smiles on their faces, but Sakamoto Yu could sense the distance and formality between them.
He smiled bitterly to himself, thinking that it was wishful thinking to think that a few words could resolve the misunderstanding.
On second thought, he decided to focus his attention on himself.
Sakamoto Yu said to the two women:
"Look at this, isn't he quite the actor?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the smiles on their faces froze instantly, and they turned their heads in unison, their eyes fixed on him.
Sakamoto Yu was instantly enveloped by two oppressive pressures, and his heart tightened.
Just then, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure passing by in the distance out of the corner of his eye, and immediately felt a sense of relief at surviving a disaster.
"Director! We can get ready to film!"
"Both of them are in excellent condition right now!"
As he spoke, he strode forward.
Upon hearing the word "director," the two women immediately composed themselves and looked ahead, but there was no one in sight.
They looked puzzled. Where was the director?
"That despicable guy."
"This is outrageous!"
The two of them said in unison in a low voice.
As soon as the words were spoken, the two of them were taken aback, then looked at each other and their expressions softened in unison.
The distance between them had lessened somewhat.
But neither wanted to be seen through by the other, so they both avoided each other's gaze.
The next second, they walked together toward the film set.
