Chapter 58 Superior Firepower!
For the people of Oak Village, today is just another ordinary day.
It was noon, and the village was bustling with activity. The blacksmith's shop was roaring, the waterwheel in the mill was creaking, and several tables in the tavern were already occupied by people eating and chatting.
On the streets, villagers who had finished working in the fields returned one after another. They walked in twos and threes, carrying hoes, and greeted each other casually when they met on the road.
"Hey, is your Jimmy back yet?" someone called out to a middle-aged man passing by.
The latter was stunned for a moment, slowed his pace by half a beat, and frowned.
"That brat's still not home?" he said, a hint of annoyance on his face. "He's probably out playing around again under the pretense of gathering firewood. I'm going to give him a good beating when he gets back..."
Before he could finish speaking, a roaring sound came from afar.
Immediately afterwards, the ground began to tremble slightly on its own.
The villagers all turned to look at it at the same time, and their eyes widened in surprise.
A colossal creature, as large as a small mountain, slowly approached. Its size almost blotted out the sky, and the entire village looked as small as a bird's nest that could be crushed at any moment in its shadow.
"Alright, you're home now."
On the deck, Li Xin said to Jimmy and the others.
At the same time, he turned his head and glanced at the village below.
The houses and shops were mostly low-rise buildings made of stone and wood, and the villagers all wore coarse linen clothes. Judging from the architecture, clothing, and lifestyle alone, it was almost indistinguishable from a medieval human village.
But what really gave him the creeps was that many of the villagers knew how to use magic.
When a woman came to the well to draw water, she simply pointed at the well, and a pale blue ray of light fell into the well, guiding the water flow to fall steadily into the bucket beside her.
In the blacksmith's shop not far away, the blacksmith wasn't using a hammer, but instead drawing something on the iron blank with his fingers. Faint red magical runes floated from his fingertips, imprinting themselves into the iron blank, causing it to stretch, bend, and take shape, eventually becoming the outline of a scythe.
In the open space in the center of the village, several children were playing a game of "moving stones." They chanted spells, making a boulder larger than themselves float above their heads—undoubtedly a very dangerous activity. Before long, their parents discovered them, dragged them home, and used magic to remotely control a belt to whip them mercilessly.
As he looked, his brows furrowed deeper and deeper.
magic.
This power, which is a miracle on Earth and sought by countless people, seems easy and readily available in this world.
......
"You ask where this is? This is the far east of the continent, near the capital of the human kingdom of Edras," a villager said.
He sighed as he spoke.
"Our homeland was once at its peak, but everything changed after that magical world war... Now it's just barely clinging to life."
Li Xin nodded slightly.
The far east of the mainland? Am I really in such a remote location?
He couldn't help but look at the floating reminder in front of him.

"Am I really going to have to stay in this world for three months this time?" he muttered to himself.
Given that this is a fantastical and bizarre world, and with magic so prevalent, venturing outwards rashly would likely be fraught with danger. Rather than wandering around in fear, it would be better to stay in this human kingdom and interact with the locals.
Incidentally, they should also extract more oil and gas resources within this kingdom—they probably wouldn't object, since they don't even have a single machine.
Just then, a sharp and urgent whistle suddenly came from afar.
A human cavalryman galloped towards them, looking anxious and cracking his whip several times to speed up, probably to deliver some urgent message.
Upon seeing the mobile city parked at the village entrance, he froze, his mind clearly blanking for a moment as he struggled to understand why a city would suddenly appear at the village entrance.
But he quickly came to his senses and anxiously shouted to the villagers.
"The orcs have reached this place! Everyone, hurry and follow me to safety! Quick! Don't dawdle!"
The villagers were stunned for a moment, then erupted in uproar.
Li Xin, puzzled, grabbed a villager who was running past him.
"You're still so afraid now that you have magic?"
"Funny!" The other person laughed angrily. "Don't you know what orcs are?"
After saying that, he flicked his sleeves and ran away without looking back.
"My lord, what should we do now?" Lu Chen asked.
After a moment of contemplation, Li Xin looked in the direction from which the cavalry had come.
"Let's go take a look."
The journey wasn't long, only a dozen kilometers in total, and the Xinghuo spacecraft arrived in no time.
When Li Xin picked up his binoculars from the watchtower, he saw the armies of both sides.
The human army was arrayed in front of a low defensive line, numbering only about a thousand people.
The soldiers' armor was of varying quality; some wore chainmail, some only had a leather vest, and some even had an iron plate tied around their chest and tightened with hemp rope.
Their weapons were also varied, including spears, battle axes, broadswords, maces, and so on.
On the other side, the orc army stretched out in a dark mass.
They numbered three or four thousand, giving them an overwhelming numerical advantage. To make matters worse, they were far more physically imposing and stronger than humans, wielding iron shields taller than a man and battle axes as thick as wooden stakes.
Moreover, the beastmen were branded with strange patterns.
The two sides began fighting a few seconds later.
The orcs launched a massive charge, their heavy infantry thundering as they crashed into the human lines. The human lines crumbled almost instantly, with most soldiers falling nearly immediately upon engaging the orcs.
Many orcs, taking advantage of their strength, directly pinned down the human soldiers in front of them, shouting excitedly and swinging their weapons wildly, their faces splattered with blood.
"Why don't they use magic?" Lu Chen asked, puzzled.
The answer was soon revealed when several human mages accompanying the army rushed out from behind the formation and quickly chanted incantations to unleash several spells.
However, just as the spell was about to hit, the strange patterns on the orc soldier's body flashed, like an invisible shield, deflecting, absorbing, and dissipating the spell.
"So that's how it is, it's anti-magic!" Li Xin suddenly realized.
Seeing that the human forces were about to be defeated, he no longer hesitated and simply waved his hand.
"Let's go!"
With a deafening roar, the Starfire charged into the battlefield!
This behemoth displayed devastating power; its flesh-butchering machine guns on the deck fired indiscriminately, and wherever the bullets swept, the bodies of orc soldiers were instantly torn to pieces.
The Tiger Crouching Cannons roared and howled one after another, the shockwaves blasting orcs, armor and all, into the air. Floating cannons rose in succession, tracing silvery-white trails in mid-air, precisely piercing the bodies of orc soldiers one after another.
The most ruthless weapon is the city machine gun. Its belt of ammunition sweeps through, leaving orc soldiers practically nothing but scrap. Even a single hit will leave a gaping hole in their body.
With its powerful firepower and mobility, the Starfire rampaged across the battlefield, invincible.
"Haha, hahahahaha!" Li Xin couldn't help but burst into hearty laughter.
This time, he truly experienced what "superior firepower" meant.
