Chapter 17 Airdrop Supplies

It was evening.

Inside the restaurant, Li Xin and his companions were all wolfing down their food.

The Starfire was still sailing, but the journey was much smoother, and it did not encounter many more setbacks.

After finishing their meal, Li Xin arrived at the production workshop.

After the previous fierce battle, the ammunition was almost exhausted, and many of the heavy machine guns and artillery were also damaged.

As he watched the bullets and shells gushing out from the exit, along with the newly built heavy machine guns and artillery, his brow relaxed a little.

This production workshop is really useful; once the supplies run out, they can be quickly replenished.

"Its other two evolutionary branches aren't very useful. Perhaps I can continue to upgrade and unlock new evolutionary branches to see..." he thought to himself.

Just then, a roaring sound suddenly came from outside.

Li Xin was stunned for a moment, then his lips twitched involuntarily.

"Again?"

When he stepped onto the deck, he saw not the giant vehicles that had come to search for him, but a human transport plane in the air.

The indicator light on its top flashed three times, and then the hatch opened.

Immediately afterwards, a huge supply box was pushed out of the cabin and slowly descended with a parachute.

This time, not only Li Xin, but also Lu Chen and the others who came to the deck after hearing the noise were stunned.

After regaining his senses, a look of disbelief flashed in Li Xin's eyes.

"This is... a supply from Skyrocket K4?"

The Starfire changed direction and headed towards the airdrop supply crate.

This box is very large and heavy, measuring several meters in length and width, and requires a crane to move it.

After opening the box, Li Xin could see what was inside.

Compressed biscuits in vacuum-packed bags.

It includes canned goods of all types, including meat, vegetables, and fruits.

Buckets of fresh water.

A set of water purification tablets and a portable water purifier.

A complete first aid kit including antibiotics, tourniquets, disinfectants, and surgical instruments.

Dozens of breathing filter masks.

"Wow, these are all great things!" Lu Chen's eyes lit up immediately, and he picked them up to examine them with great interest.

Li Xin stared intently at the supplies, his mind churning with thoughts.

He had only casually sent a message asking for help, but he never expected to actually get a response. It turned out that everything that K4 had said that day was true!

What shocked him even more than this was the significance behind these supplies.

The vacuum packaging of compressed biscuits, the clear categorization and descriptions on the surface of canned goods, the instruction manuals with printed specifications that come with water purification equipment, and the labels on each item... all these indicate that they are organized, standardized, and systematic materials, and that there is a whole industrial chain behind them!

"This mobile city is truly amazing!" someone exclaimed.

Li Xin's gaze fell on the front of the supply box.

There was a very conspicuous sign there.

The logo features a picture of a mobile city, with two large, neat characters printed below it.

"ark."

"So this is the organization that Skyrocket K4 belongs to?" he wondered.

After receiving the supply boxes, the first thing Li Xin and everyone else did was immediately put on their breathing masks.

The workmanship and materials of this breathing mask are ridiculously good. It is a half-face mask with soft and comfortable silicone edges. When you put it on your face, you can easily tighten the straps. When you inhale, you can feel the air being filtered layer by layer.

Li Xin couldn't bear to eat the compressed biscuits and canned food in the supply boxes; he had them stored away in the warehouse. After all, these were high-energy foods with a long shelf life, which could be lifesavers in a critical moment.

In the following time, he strode into the cockpit and went to the city radio station—the reason why Tianyou K4 was able to confirm the location of Xinghuo and send a transport plane was because of the signal source of this device.

With excitement in his heart, Li Xin quickly typed and sent a message to Tianyou K4.

"This is the Starfire. We have received your supplies. Thank you very much!"

Just seconds later, the other party responded.

"Received. Supporting our fellow countrymen is our duty, no need to thank us."

Seeing this, Li Xin simply switched the city radio station to a voice channel.

To his surprise, the person he was communicating with was the lord of Tianyou K4.

Judging from his calm and composed voice, he seemed to be a middle-aged man.

"My name is Gao Nan," the other person said. "Is the supply in the airdrop crate enough for your needs?"

"It's alright, we only have about twenty people right now, that's more than enough!"

After Li Xin finished speaking, he took a deep breath and barely managed to suppress his somewhat excited feelings.

"We've just been through a fierce battle with the giants. The city is quite damaged, but it still retains its mobility!" he said. "We can join you in the safe zone right away!"

After he finished speaking, he unconsciously let out a long sigh.

After wandering for so long, I've finally found my tribe!

In this way, the days ahead will undoubtedly be much easier.

However, to his surprise, the other party fell silent after hearing this.

This reaction made Li Xin, who had just become excited, suddenly feel a pang of anxiety.

After a long silence, the other party spoke in a deep voice.

"Sorry, we evacuated the area an hour ago."

Li Xin was slightly taken aback.

My initial elation was instantly replaced by a profound sense of loss.

I... I've actually been left behind?

"Why did you retreat so quickly?" he asked.

"Because the giants have become aware of the arrival of human civilization and have begun a large-scale manhunt for our mobile cities," Gao Nan replied. "And our temporary safe zone was attacked multiple times within hours. To ensure that nothing unexpected happens, we had no choice but to evacuate with the seven temporarily consolidated mobile cities ahead of schedule."

Li Xin did not question this statement, after all, he had just experienced it.

"Well, I hope your evacuation goes smoothly." He sighed. "By the way, human civilization still exists, right?"

Gao Nan paused for a moment, then smiled silently.

"Of course, our civilization still exists, and it is far more powerful than you can imagine."

Upon hearing this, Li Xin felt a moment of dizziness, and even the pent-up emotions in his heart were relieved.

When they turned to look at Lu Chen and the others who had followed them, everyone's expressions were filled with surprise and astonishment.

"Okay." He nodded. "Also, why do you say this area is extremely dangerous?"

Gao Nan fell silent again on the other end of the communication.

After a pause, he slowly began to speak.

"Because there is a war going on in this area."

Li Xin and his companions exchanged glances and nodded slightly.

He had actually vaguely guessed this outcome.

But what Gao Nan said next stunned everyone.

"To be precise, the world is fighting a world war."
