Full-Time Magister: Rebirth of Mo Fan as the Primordial Evil Phoenix
Chapter 34 A Meeting of Minds, A Promise Made for Life
Chapter 34 A Meeting of Minds, A Promise Kept for Life
Mo Fan slowly descended the stairs, holding onto the handrail; looking at the ceiling for too long was getting a bit irritating.
He originally wanted to go downstairs for some fresh air, but he immediately spotted Tang Yue standing at the end of the corridor.
She wasn't wearing her school uniform; her coat was draped over her arm, and the light fell on her profile, highlighting her delicate features. Her gentle demeanor made her incredibly alluring.
Mo Fan stared blankly for a moment, then smiled and walked towards her.
"I heard you came to see me," Mo Fan said. "I was so surprised I didn't wake up. What a waste!"
Tang Yue turned her head, glanced at him, and snorted coldly: "Is there anything in this world that can make you lose out?"
Mo Fan leaned against the wall and said, "I can't believe I missed a beautiful woman like you coming to see a patient. I'm losing out no matter how you look at it."
Tang Yue didn't respond to his question, but simply glanced at him and asked, "Did the doctor tell you to get out of bed?"
"I'm so tired of staring at the ceiling. If I don't get some exercise, I'll really become a useless person," Mo Fan said, pausing for a moment. "You've taken care of a lot of things for me, haven't you?"
Tang Yue remained silent for a while before speaking, "I blocked part of it, and Zhan Kong also contributed."
Tang Yue looked at him. "Otherwise, would you still be recovering in the hospital?"
Mo Fan's smile faded slightly.
"Teacher Tang Yue, I owe you so many favors, I feel like I can't repay them all. How about I sell myself to you?" Mo Fan said.
Tang Yue snorted coldly: "What are you worth? Don't always make me clean up your messes."
Mo Fan was about to reply, "That depends on you...", but he swallowed the words back. He could tell that Tang Yue wasn't here to tease him today.
"Is there anything else?" Mo Fan asked.
Tang Yue did not answer immediately; she turned her head and glanced at the temporary resettlement area outside.
There were children sitting on folding beds, lost in thought, and others clutching things, as if they hadn't yet realized what they had lost.
"Where do you want to go next?" Tang Yue finally asked.
"I don't know," Mo Fan said, looking outside. "Right now, I'd like to go to either the ancient capital or Shanghai."
"Let's go to Shanghai," Tang Yue said instinctively.
By the time she realized what was happening, it was too late. Then, as if she had found a breakthrough, she said, "Shanghai is big, with abundant resources and excellent universities. If you want to become stronger, it's a better place to go."
After listening, Mo Fan chuckled and said, "Teacher Tang Yue, are you concerned about me?"
Tang Yue, who had been looking outside, slowly turned her gaze back upon hearing this.
This time, she didn't reply immediately.
After a two-second pause, she said, "You're no longer that troublemaker student."
The voice wasn't loud, but it gave Mo Fan a slight jolt.
If someone else had said this, he could probably have easily responded, but when Tang Yue said it, it carried a different weight.
She watched him struggle all the way from school. She was also the one who first learned about the things about him that couldn't be brought to light, and she shielded him time and time again.
Mo Fan looked at her and asked, slowly but directly, "So what am I now?"
Tang Yue did not avoid his gaze, but her expression was calmer than before.
"What does it matter?" she retorted.
"It's not important to others," Mo Fan said, "but I still want to hear something from you."
Tang Yue gently rubbed her slightly tight wrist, as if she were trying to reason with him, or perhaps leaving room for each other.
“You are now,” she said, “someone I can’t just see as a student.”
"6
Mo Fan was taken aback.
This isn't much, but it's enough.
It didn't go too far, but it also didn't push him back to his original position.
There was a moment of silence between the two. Then someone carrying a medicine box ran down the corridor. The sound of footsteps made the brief moment even clearer.
Mo Fan suddenly laughed, but this time he didn't spout nonsense like he usually does.
"Teacher Tang Yue, what you said is a bit unfair."
"Don't label me," Tang Yue said calmly. "You know what you should know, and don't go around saying things you shouldn't."
"What if I misunderstand?"
Tang Yue looked at him, and a faint smile finally appeared on her lips.
"Then you can just keep misunderstanding for now."
These words are spoken lightly, yet they are more irritating than anything else.
Mo Fan straightened up a bit, his chest wound aching slightly from the pulling, but he seemed unconcerned.
Tang Yue took a gold card out of her coat pocket and handed it to him.
"There's still some money in here. Get me a message when you get to Shanghai."

Mo Fan took it and subconsciously touched his nose.
"Is this the fee for keeping you as a mistress?" he asked, looking up.
"What nonsense are you talking about! Buy some food to replenish your strength, don't die out there," Tang Yue said.
This time, Mo Fan didn't make any more frivolous remarks. He just looked at her, half-seriously and half-naturally, and said, "Hehe, with someone as beautiful as Teacher Tang Yue caring about me, I wouldn't want to die. If I really am about to die, I'll try to leave you with something to remember me by."
"Don't say things like that." Tang Yue frowned.
"I know," Mo Fan smiled, "but I'm serious."
Tang Yue looked at him for a moment, as if she wanted to say something, but finally only said, "When you go to Shanghai, don't act recklessly. That place is bigger and more complicated than Bo City. With your current abilities, you're not capable enough to act with impunity."
"I like hearing that," Mo Fan said. "At least it means I'll have the chance to act with impunity in the future."
Tang Yue didn't bother to respond to his comment and turned to leave.
Mo Fan subconsciously reached out and gently touched her wrist.
The movement was very short; it loosened as soon as it touched her.
Tang Yue stopped and turned to look at him.
Mo Fan didn't laugh as casually this time; he simply said in a low voice, "Thanks."
He wasn't thanking her for coming to see him.
He thanked her for suppressing what followed, for blocking what needed to be blocked, and for paving the way forward for him at this critical moment.
Tang Yue naturally understood.
"You can thank me when you get to Shanghai," she said.
After saying that, she didn't linger and walked out along the path outside the hospital where temporary lighting had been installed.
Mo Fan stood there, watching her walk away, still clutching the piece of paper with the address and number written on it.
A night breeze blew in from outside the building, and it was a bit chilly.
He turned his head and looked at the city of Bo.
In the distance, there were still broken walls and rows of makeshift tents, with scattered lights keeping the ruins from getting too dark. Too many things were buried here: the night he almost died, and the moment he truly understood that the world didn't work out.
The first thing Bo Cheng taught him wasn't how to be a magician.
The priority is to survive.
But surviving is never the end.
Mo Fan glanced down at the gold card in his hand, smiled, and carefully put it away.
Bo Cheng has given him almost everything he could. Now, it's time for him to go to bigger places, meet more people, acquire more solid skills, and settle those scores that haven't been settled yet, little by little.
Magic City.
There are new roads, bigger waves, and a line left for him by Tang Yue.
Mo Fan leaned against the wall and slowly walked upstairs. His steps were not fast, but he already had a direction in mind.
Once his injuries had healed a bit more, he would leave the city.
Next stop, Shanghai.
