The Bizarre Adventure of the Warhammer Guard

Thessalon is a green gas giant.

Two massive fleets are battling above the planet Thessal, with countless energy beams and physical projectiles flying through space.

These two fleets are very easy to distinguish. One fleet is very ornate and dazzling, while the other fleet is relatively simple and has a variety of appearances.

Hundreds of warships chased each other in space, with victories and defeats occurring on both sides. However, the outcome of these battles did not determine the decisive result for the two fleets. What truly determined the situation on the battlefield was the flagship of each fleet.

These are the Ultramarines battleship Power Grip and the Son of the Emperor-class battleship Imperial Pride.

These two ships were originally built for a common goal, but now they are attacking each other and fighting to the death.

Standing aboard the Power Grip is Primarch Robert Guilliman, a demigod-like figure—the Lord of the Ultramarines, King of the Five Hundred Worlds of Alteramar, and Son of Vengeance. The entire burden of the Imperium now rests on his shoulders; he and his last remaining Primarch brothers have become the last hope of the Imperium of Man.

The title of Imperial Pride belongs to the rebellious Primarch, Vograim—once the Radiant One, the perfect phoenix, now a traitor. Though once blessed by the Emperor, Vograim has long since fallen, following Horus, the leader of the traitors, swearing allegiance to the ancient dark gods, and becoming a forerunner of corruption.

The space battle was extremely chaotic, with violent energy turbulence raging everywhere. If you were not careful, you would be hit by these energy turbulence.

Guilliman was leading his fleet in pursuit of the fleeing Son of the Emperor, but Forgrim cleverly sent three ships from his fleet as bait, successfully luring the loyalist fleet to the skies above Thessara and launching an ambush on Guilliman's fleet.

With their advantageous terrain and numerical superiority, the Emperor's Sons fleet instantly locked onto the Ultramarines' fleet, trapping their flagship. Simultaneously, the Emperor's Sons fleet continued to receive reinforcements from Chaos—every attempt by Guilliman to break out was thwarted by the Emperor's Sons fleet suddenly leaping from Chaos.

Guilliman's brain operated at high speed like a sophisticated war machine, processing and calculating massive amounts of battlefield information instantly with his superhuman intellect. Countless commands were issued from his mouth, and with the help of his offspring and the Imperial Navy, they barely managed to hold off the enemy's attack.

Suddenly, an encrypted message was transmitted to the Power Grip. "Sir, special information identification code detected." In the command room, the communications officer, after receiving the message, immediately reported to Guilliman.

That was the Imperial Guard's identification code, and it looked somewhat familiar, Guilliman thought, staring at the string of information. He immediately identified it; the information was extremely brief:

"Guilliman, I will teleport directly to your flagship."

That was Elpis. Guilliman instantly remembered this member of the Imperial Guard whom he hadn't seen for centuries. Several years ago, he had sent the Nova Corps to help him reclaim a human world.

Moreover, he was a very "strange" member of the Royal Guard. Unlike his father's other Royal Guards, he was not indifferent and wary of Primarchs like himself. He was like the most unique member of the Royal Guard, showing a kind of curiosity—curiosity about himself and about everything.

Simultaneously, he commanded the captain to be prepared for rendezvous and subspace travel. Once Guilliman was successfully rescued, Elpis planned a strategic retreat with him.

Through the ship's divination device, Elpis saw the tension of the battle over Thessara. He decided to leave his light cruiser behind and approach the center of the battlefield alone in a assault boat, then use the Spear of the Moon to teleport to the Grip of Power.

After his modifications, much of the armor and crew space on the assault boat were removed, leaving only room for him. He then added more power and concealment systems, transforming the assault boat into a small, highly fast, and extremely stealthy "missile."

Moreover, in order to achieve even greater speed, the assault boat was crammed into the cruiser's shell-launching system, launching the assault boat and Elpis together like a cannonball.

This enormous thrust would be difficult for even an ordinary Astartes to withstand; only a body as strong as that of a member of the Imperial Guard could remain unscathed.

Elpis piloted the assault boat at high speed, finally reaching the center of the battlefield. Countless wrecked warships floated in space, and countless energy beams streaked through the air, which Elpis carefully dodged.

Finally, the assault boat was less than tens of thousands of kilometers away from the Power Grip, and Elpis skillfully activated the teleportation function on the Spear of the Moon.
