The Bizarre Adventure of the Warhammer Guard

The explosive guns equipped on Astartes were incredibly powerful, crippling the giant werewolf's left hand with a single shot.

The deafening roar of the bomb guns echoed throughout the village, their immense power stunning both sides. Seeing this, the werewolf forces considered retreating, halting their attack on the allied army and slowly withdrawing. The allied soldiers were also astonished by the immense power of the human empire's weapons.

These beings, whom the human empire called "Astartes," wielded explosive guns that, though resembling pistols in appearance, unleashed power akin to artillery shells. A sense of awe and envy spread among the crowd.

"Bang, bang," two more grenades rang out, and two grenades exploded one after the other on the giant werewolf's chest and head.

Lyon took action to deal with the big guy, but it was no match for him and was taken down with just three explosive bombs.

"These cowardly heretics are hiding in their bunkers and dare not come out," Loken's voice came through the communicator, warning, "Leon, Ada, watch out for psionic attacks."

Encouraged by the werewolves' retreat, Chris's squad immediately regrouped and marched toward the castle halfway up the mountain.

Upon entering the castle, an aristocratic atmosphere immediately envelops you. Exquisite patterns, antique-style reliefs, meticulously arranged flowers, and murals on the walls all showcase the noble taste of the owner of this place.

"Intruder!"

A sharp and high-pitched voice came from deep within the castle, and then the gate opened, revealing a tall woman leading a group of women to the crowd.

"You vermin, how dare you trespass into Timmitrescu Castle!" the tall woman spoke. She wore a white robe, had blond hair, and a deathly pale face; she was nearly three meters tall. "Go, my children! Tear these vermin to shreds!"

As soon as she finished speaking, the women behind her disappeared, transforming into countless flies that flew toward the UN forces.

"Take cover!" Chris shouted to his teammates, firing at the flies as he did so.

The flies scattered, dodging the bullets aimed at them, and flew to the enemy, converging. Their fingernails suddenly lengthened, transforming into sharp claws, piercing the enemy's heart with a single blow. Having succeeded, they transformed back into flies, attacking the next target.

Some flies and insects, caught in the dense barrage of bullets, were unable to dodge the attack. The woman's silhouette was revealed the instant she was struck, and then a barrage of fire rained down on her.

With a scream, the woman turned into crystalline powder, which drifted away in the wind and disappeared.

As the enemy attacked, Leon aimed his gun at the tall woman, switched the grenades to automatic mode, held the gun with his left hand, and pulled the trigger with his right. A series of grenades were fired, blasting the woman's body.

The powerful attack severely injured the woman, who writhed in pain as if something was growing from her body.

Loken sensed something was wrong and rushed forward, smashing the woman's head with a punch and kicking down the twisting, growing body. He opened fire with his explosive gun, bombarding the strange body until it completely crystallized and then shattered.

"Pay attention to the changes in the enemy," Loken instructed Leon and Ada. "These heretics and aliens have all sorts of strange attack methods. If you're not observant enough, you can easily suffer losses."

Meanwhile, as Leon dealt with the leading woman, Chris's squad also took care of the remaining enemies, but two squad members were killed and three were wounded.

After sending men to treat the wounded and returning the bodies of the dead to base, they continued their march to attack the enemy hiding in the mountains.

Along the way, enemies fell to the ground one after another; these crude bio-modified weapons were utterly ineffective against these heavily armed elite soldiers. Moreover, the arrival of Astartes made the encirclement and suppression operation much easier.

Finally, they reached the deepest part of the mountain, where a massive altar stood, its walls covered with strange symbols. Most of the markings had faded, but some eight-pointed stars had appeared. These symbols were written in blood and sprinkled with what appeared to be human bone powder. The surrounding area was also decorated with eight-pointed stars made of human bones and skulls, creating an eerie atmosphere.

The Chaos Octagon! Loken realized that the place had been corrupted by the Chaos God and immediately contacted Elpis on the ship to report the matter, but it seemed to be affected by the warp, and there was silence on the communication.

"Warning!" Loken warned everyone present. "These heretics have become believers in the Chaos Demons!"

"Hahahaha..." As soon as the words were spoken, a burst of laughter came from the shadows of the altar.

A tall creature emerged, nearly three meters tall, its body bloated, draped only in tattered pieces of cloth stained with blood. Its exposed body was an eerie pale green, bearing wounds from which a pale green liquid oozed.

Her legs resembled the paws of some animal, covered with pustules of varying sizes. Her hands had become large and thick, with fingernails half a meter long. Only her head could be vaguely identified as resembling a human female, with empty eyes devoid of pupils and two streams of red blood sliding down from the corners of her eyes.

That was none other than "Mother Goddess" Miranda, one of the targets to be executed in this operation. Her left hand held a woman's head, thick red blood dripping continuously from the severed area. Her right hand held a man's head and the attached upper body, intestines spilling out, mingling with blood, connecting to the shadow behind her.

"Ah, little Eva." Miranda's empty eyes stared ahead, a smile playing on her lips. "My lovely daughter, I've finally seen you! I've finally brought you back to life!"

"If it weren't for the sacrifices of Donna, Morey, and Heisenberg," Miranda glanced disdainfully at the male corpse on her right, "my daughter wouldn't have come back to life."

"Thanks to the blessings of our Lord!" Miranda's fervent voice rang out. "Praise be to the Father!"

Before Miranda could finish speaking, countless attacks rained down on her. Although the bullets splashed green liquid on her, Miranda's figure remained unaffected.

"You!" Miranda roared, glaring at the members of Chris's team who had launched the attack. "How dare you hurt my daughter!"

Miranda waved her hand, tossing aside the corpse in her arms, and summoned pale green vines from the ground, attacking the squad members. The enormous vines lashed out at bizarre angles, sending one member flying with a single lash.

Loken and Leon took turns attacking, one providing cover with a slingshot while the other used a chainsaw to cut down the vines, closing in on Miranda. Chris's squad also dodged while looking for opportunities to throw grenades to slow Miranda's vine attack.

Lyon seized the opportunity, approached Miranda, and swung his chainsaw, slashing at her.

"Success!" Leon thought with delight. However, the chainsaw sword was stuck inside Miranda's body, and a mysterious force prevented Leon from swinging it.

Vines sprouted from the ground beneath Leon's feet, wrapping around his waist and immobilizing him. Suddenly, a thick vine emerged from behind Miranda, aiming directly at Leon's head.

Lyon's pupils constricted slightly; in desperation, he could only prepare to take the fatal blow head-on.
