Five days later, a UN force composed of elite soldiers from around the world was dispatched to a mysterious village on the border of Romania in Eastern Europe.

Inside the UN forces' provisional operational command center on the border, a Thunderhawk gunboat landed. The hatch opened, and Commander Corvo personally led a small squad of Astartes from the Nova Warriors Chapter, deployed for this operation to eradicate the source of the heretical faith.

Of course, Loken, Leon, and Ada were also sent to the ground by Elpis to assist in the extermination of the heretics. After all, Leon and Ada were also from this planet, and this was their first real combat experience after their training.

"Commander Corvo, and esteemed officers." The UN commander stepped out of his tent and approached the newly arrived Imperial support force. "I am Chris Redfield, the commander of the UN forces."

"He's a muscular man," Leon said, looking at the commander. "Redfield? That name sounds familiar."

Looking at the short-haired man with stubble, wearing combat gear and standing tall among ordinary people, Leon recalled someone, but now was not the time to ask.

"Commander Chris." Corvo, without a helmet, observed the mortal troops making their deployments around him and nodded in satisfaction. "I've come here for two reasons: first, to assist you in ensuring the heretics are completely eradicated; and second, to observe you and assess your combat skills."

"Don't worry, Commander Corvo, we'll demonstrate our professional combat skills," Chris said loudly, looking up.

"Good, I hope you won't disappoint me." Corvo took out a data panel and shared the data with the joint forces. "I'll share some data with you. There's a heretical organization here that worships the Mother Goddess Miranda."

"They possess some bio-modification technology, and this Miranda might be an illegal psionicist," Corvo continued. "We will assist you in dealing with these psionicists."

"Thank you all very much for your help," Chris said, and then went to check the data that had just been transmitted.

Chris didn't think much about the sudden appearance of the human empire. Like many others, upon learning that they were also human and that no conflict had broken out, his worries about the future lessened considerably.

Just days ago, nations announced their membership in the Human Empire. All national governments will be gradually dissolved, and a unified governmental body will be formed to lead all humanity on this planet. It is said that the Human Empire will assist in the construction and technological advancement of Earth, and will select a planetary governor and other officials from Earth to handle political affairs.

Blue Star's obligations are to abide by the Empire's laws, pay taxes on time, and provide combat population.

The global unity of humanity, and the potential for space travel in the future—Chris never imagined he would witness such a momentous event in his lifetime. Moreover, he had heard that elite units like his would definitely join the human empire's forces, and he might even become a two-and-a-half-meter-tall behemoth like Commander Corvo.

Subsequently, he was summoned to deal with heretical acts on Earth, and was informed that the Human Empire would send Astartes to assist and oversee the battle. Chris guessed that this might be the Empire's assessment of Earth's military capabilities.

"Commander Chris?"

A voice interrupted Chris's thoughts. He had already read the information, made his deployment, and was using binoculars from a high vantage point to survey the terrain of the mysterious village. Chris turned to look and saw a black-armored Astartes. He recognized him as the Astartes following the Colonel Corvo.

"Sir, what are your orders?" Chris keenly noticed the unusual nature of the black-armored Astartes in front of him.

"Do you have a younger sister? Her name is Claire?"

"How did you know you know my sister?" Chris asked, somewhat surprised.

"My name is Leon Kennedy," Leon then removed his helmet. "I am also a human from Earth, and a former citizen of the United States."

"You..." Chris was at a loss after hearing Leon's words. He didn't expect that people from their own planet would appear so soon in Astartes, a human empire.

"My situation is a bit complicated, and I can't disclose it," Leon explained. "I met Claire during the crisis in Raccoon City; she was looking for you then. By the way, how is she now?"

“She’s doing well now,” Chris said. “After the Raccoon City crisis, something happened to the Umbrella Corporation, and its branches around the world experienced varying degrees of shutdown. Then Claire came to me with a little girl.”

"I'm relieved to hear she's safe." Leon looked towards the distant village. "We can have a good talk after the mission is over. There are still countless dangers in this universe, Chris. You'll definitely join the Imperial Army later, and I look forward to fighting side by side with you then."

After saying that, Leon returned to the camp before Chris could speak, to prepare for the battle.

The battle began, and Chris led his squad in an offensive.

This small village is surrounded by mountains, and locals say it's a cursed place inhabited by werewolves and demons. Halfway up the mountain stands an ancient castle, said to have been built by a nobleman centuries ago, and local legend says it's inhabited by vampires.

The terrain here is complex, and being located in a mountainous area, ordinary aircraft and missiles would be ineffective. Furthermore, the information brought by Commander Corvo indicates that the enemy consists of bio-modified humans, some of whom possess mild psionic abilities, and that many enemy structures are hidden within the mountains.

Chris didn't care about vampires, werewolves, or psionicists; he took the lead and stormed into the village along the only road leading in.

Blocking the UN forces were werewolves, their bodies covered in white fur, hunched over, their faces half-human and half-wolf. They carried a motley collection of weapons—some axes, some longswords, and others wooden clubs—and their tattered armor was a patchwork of mismatched pieces.

Under the attack of modern weapons, this rabble, which was only slightly stronger than ordinary people and wielded cold weapons, was no match for the advance of the UN forces.

The gun muzzle spat out flames continuously, and the werewolves fell one after another. What flowed out of the dead werewolves was not blood, but a dark red, thick, gelatinous substance.

As the troops ventured deeper, Chris encountered a giant werewolf standing four meters tall, wielding a massive battle axe and clad in sturdy armor. Its enormous roar echoed throughout the mountains.

"Focus fire!" Chris shouted in the combat channel.

Instantly, countless gunshots rained down on the giant werewolf. Enraged, the giant werewolf raised its giant axe and leaped down, smashing it towards Chris, the leader.

"Bang..." Dust billowed up as Chris narrowly dodged the werewolf's attack, but he also fell to the ground.

Seeing that his attack had failed to kill his enemy, the werewolf didn't even raise his giant axe. Instead, he swung his left fist at Chris. Chris had no way to dodge and could only raise his gun to defend himself.

Suddenly, a loud bang came from afar. The giant werewolf's left hand exploded, and thick, gelatinous substance splattered onto Chris. The giant werewolf was jolted back several steps by the massive damage. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Chris quickly got up and moved away from the giant werewolf.

Looking back, Lyon was right there.

He fired his explosive gun, saving Chris from the ground.
