Chapter 73 Prophecy of Salvation (1/3)

Hextech's ability to close the gates of hell and save Manchester was actually all a matter of coincidence.

Mondrian looked at Ida, who immediately gave him a polite and respectful smile.

"Yes," Mondrian sighed softly.

"Who would believe the unverified messianic tales told by apostates?"

"Who would believe that an ancient suit of armor from the church is the sole criterion for selecting a savior?"

Mondrian shook his head slightly, the smile on his face gradually fading, his gaze fixed intently on Hex, and his tone became extremely solemn.

"But as it turns out, everything I did was right."

"The savior has arrived!"

As he spoke, all the hundreds of Allied Front agents turned to look at Hextech.

His eyes were filled with fervor and unwavering determination!

He never believed that his birth was some kind of predetermined fate.

According to the original game storyline, although the protagonist had interactions with Mondrian, the latter never mentioned the savior nor revealed any related clues. The two were mostly in opposition, only briefly cooperating at the end of Chapter Ten.

After all, one side represents the church and the other represents the united front; they are two inherently hostile camps.

Now, a savior legend has suddenly appeared out of nowhere, not mentioned in the game, and it has also brought to light a holy armor that has been rumored for thousands of years and was personally crafted by the archangel Michael.

To be honest, in this world with a strong religious atmosphere, rumors that even most clergy are unwilling to believe are extremely absurd and have never come true in thousands of years.

This is ridiculous. Did it predict that he would travel to this world?

As for accomplishing a great feat that tears apart despair, that would certainly fit the bill.

No wonder when Ida first found him, she only assigned him tasks and never mentioned the savior, because she had no connection between him and the savior.

After he personally ended the crisis at the Gates of Hell, Ada immediately brought him before Mondrian.

Hextech doesn't want to be labeled a savior from the bottom of its heart.

Once bound to this identity, one will not only be drawn into all sorts of inexplicable vortexes, but will also be deeply tied to the united front, which is equivalent to directly choosing sides between the two major camps.

Mondrian continued, "As for responsibility, there is only one."

"To save all of humanity."

"Speaker, there's no need to fob me off with such empty rhetoric," Hex interrupted.

"You know I don't trust you right now, so just tell me what you need me to do."

"If the conditions are right, we can reach a short-term cooperation agreement."

He never liked beating around the bush, and with his combat power constantly increasing, he became even more straightforward and abhorred this kind of scheming and hypocrisy.

Mondrian pondered for a moment, then nodded and said, "I understand what you mean."

"I will take you to various influential events to rally those who have lost trust in me and are in a wait-and-see state."

Hex nodded slightly; at least these words no longer sounded empty and pretentious.

As a former cardinal who apostatized the Church, Mondrian, despite his great power, would inevitably face suspicion and distrust from both the local and anti-Church factions within the United Front after joining it.

This is also a major reason why the United Front remained disorganized in the early stages of the game.

Mondrian's greatest asset in joining the united front was the prophecy of the savior. As long as Hextech endorsed him as the savior, it would prove his prediction correct, naturally winning over those who doubted and distrusted him.
