Hell has invaded, but my Hextech is invincible!

Chapter 11 Story Character Missions

However, this mission is quite similar to the Hell Invasion mission. After recruiting the Golden Brigade, players will have a story mission. Only by completing the mission can the star rating be increased.

These tasks often involve the character's past regrets or experiences, allowing players to better understand the character's background.

This cheat code is what merged the two game mechanics.

Hextech quests have become a combination of character quests and random daily quests from Hell Invasion.

However, this adds another way to gain experience and gold coins, which is a good thing.

Emily felt that Hextech seemed a little mentally unstable.

One second he was full of resistance, the next he was overjoyed, and that joy was genuine, not faked.

She was momentarily stunned: "Well... thank you."

"No need to thank me." Hex scooped Emily up in his arms. "How do I get to the lower city?"

"Lead the way!"

If Grace dies, his mission will be ruined! Besides, the Gates of Hell won't open for more than ten hours, giving him plenty of time to complete the mission and leave Manchester.

“People from the lower city need identification to enter the upper city,” Emily said hesitantly. “But people from the upper city don’t need identification.”

"As long as we dress properly, we can enter the lower city directly from Gate 3."

Decent?

Hex glanced at his and Emily's outfits.

He was still wearing the guard uniform from Frankenstein's Lab, while Emily wore a dirty dress that was far from presentable.

He thought for a moment and then said, "Come on, let me take you to change your clothes."

The river in the upper district looked clean, but there was a lot of garbage and silt at the bottom, and the two of them smelled of fish.

"Mr. Horus, I can use my abilities—" Emily suggested.

"No need." Hex looked at a clothing store not far away along the street, where there was a corner wall.

Clothes are readily available.

Three minutes later, Hex had changed into a very well-fitting men's suit.

Although he thought it was a bit old-fashioned, with a top hat and a walking stick, he did have the air of an old-fashioned British gentleman.

Emily, on the other hand, changed into a very light-colored sweater paired with a dark vest, and also wore a lace hat. She obediently held Hex's hand, looking like an older brother taking his younger sister out for a social outing.

Hex weighed the pounds in his hand and chuckled, "The people in the upper town are quite wealthy."

Emily looked shocked: "You mean changing clothes? You mean just robbing me?"

She was, after all, still a poor person living in the lower city. Even though she had awakened her superpowers, she still had a deep-seated fear of the upper class. She planned to use her mental abilities to influence ordinary people in order to gain convenience, but she obviously did not expect Hextech to be even more ruthless than her.

Outright robbery.

"Don't worry, they won't dare call the police anytime soon, and I deliberately covered my face too," Hex said nonchalantly.

"It will take quite a bit of effort to find us."

His so-called changing of clothes was very simple.

He walked into the clothing store, slammed a revolver on the table, and then smashed the head of the plaster mannequin next to him with a punch.

The sales clerk, who was in her fifties, tactfully brought out clothes that would fit both of them.

Hextech also casually took a wad of cash.

"Mr. Horus, you are different from others," Emily said softly.

"You don't look like a kid who grew up in a slum at all."

Emily thought she was dark and wicked enough, but that was because of the torment she suffered at the hands of Frankenstein and others. In the long experiments, she had to absorb the darkness in the hearts of others.

Hextech has no mental abilities, but he seems to be born with a contempt for all rules. In his eyes, there are no nobles, no classes, and everything is his prey.

"Time is limited, let's hurry," Hex said.

He clearly remembered that in the original story, when they found Grace, she was already dead.

Based on the timeline, Grace's death occurred just before the gates of hell opened.

The fact that the system has issued this mission means that Grace should still be alive, and the two of them must hurry to the lower city.

-----------------

Grant Street in the Lower Town is a cluster of areas near one of the three major slums of the Lower Town. Although the entire Lower Town is considered poor by the gentlemen of the Upper Town, there are still class distinctions in the Lower Town.

Grace huddled on the bed, clutching a small garment, her eyes numb and devoid of any emotion.

A month ago, her sister Emily went missing.

She never experienced much happiness in her entire life.

Her parents died of illness when she was only twelve years old. She and her six- or seven-year-old sister struggled to survive in the perilous slums.

In Manchester's slums, the child mortality rate is 34%.

This does not include missing children.

If it weren't for the meager inheritance left by her father, she would never have been able to raise her younger sister.

For Emily's sake, she forced herself to become strong, passed the Lower City patrol team's test, became a patrol member, and gained a relatively stable identity.

After dealing with cunning merchants, desperate civilians, and ruthless gangsters every day, the happiest thing when she gets home is that her sister Emily is waiting for her and giving her a warm hug.

But all of this came to a complete end a month ago.

Emily has disappeared, and her home has been destroyed.

She spent almost all of her family's wealth, even borrowing money at high interest rates, and begged the underworld to help her find her sister.

But almost everyone advised her to give up.

Nearly two thousand children go missing every year in the lower suburbs of Manchester, and her sister is just one of the many.

Some of these children were trafficked, some were sent to brothels, and some fell into the hands of anti-government forces or even cults.

No one could find it, not even the mayor of Manchester.

Over the course of this month, she went from being full of hope to being disappointed time and time again.

Emily investigated every clue she found, no matter how difficult, but in the end, all she got was endless disappointment.

Emily is truly gone.

Her pain deepened until she finally had to admit that her sister might never come back.

Living seems to have lost its meaning.

Boom boom boom!

A heavy knocking sounded on the door.

"Emily?!" Grace jumped out of bed.

She rushed to the door, flung it open, and dashed out—

It crashed into a wall.

Why is there a wall when I open the door?

Grace took two steps back, looked up, and saw a man who was at least eight feet tall blocking the doorway.

He had a fleshy face, chest hair that almost popped out of his clothes, a hideous scar on his face, a tattered felt hat, and a wrinkled, secondhand suit stained with grease.

Behind him followed two equally fierce-looking men.

"Floda, is there any news about Emily?" Grace asked hurriedly, as if waking from a dream.

The mob boss, known as Floda, grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth: "Give up, Grace."

Emily can't be found.

"Then what are you here for!" Grace said, pursing her lips.

"Of course, it's about collecting debts."

"Of course, it's about collecting debts." Floda sat down at the dining table with a nonchalant air, poured himself a strong cup of tea, and gulped it down.

He stared at Grace with unabashed eyes, as if she were a piece of merchandise.

"A month ago, you borrowed fifty pounds from the Quink gang."

"The debt is now due, totaling £120 including principal and interest."

"Is the money ready?"

Grace's face paled, and she slowly shook her head: "I'm sorry, could you please grant me a few more days? I'll pay you back as soon as I have the money."

"Grace, as I said before, I'll only give you a two-week grace period." Floda seemed to have known the answer all along, and wasn't angry.

"The time has come."

Where is your money?

Faced with that blatant gaze, Grace kept backing away: "I will pay."

"To know and to be able are two different things," Froda sneered.

"It seems I should remind you, even though you used to be part of the patrol team."

"But you also know who I am, and the Quink gang behind me."

"The patrol team will not interfere with personal debts and grudges."

"Besides, you're no longer one of them."

"If we can lend money, we can also get it back."

"I hope you remember this family rule."

"Could you grant me a few more days?" Grace pleaded.

"Grace, you don't think of the Quink Gang as a charity, do you?" Floda's face instantly darkened.

"No one has ever dared to default on our debts."

"If you don't have the money, we'll come and get it ourselves."

His cloudy eyes gleamed as he scrutinized Grace, who was dressed in only thin clothes.

"We'll always make an exception for a beauty like you."

Grace was beautiful and had long been accustomed to such disgusting stares since she was a child.

She took a deep breath: "I will definitely pay it back, besides, you haven't even found Emily."

"We've put in a lot of manpower and effort." Floda stood up, loosened his belt, and said, "I have a suggestion for you: have some fun with us brothers first, and I'll give you three days of respite."

"Of course, if you still can't pay after three days, we'll have to send you to a brothel."

"A woman as beautiful as you can pay off her debts in three months."

He laughed heartily, and his two henchmen behind him joined in the commotion.

"Grace, just lie down there, we'll make you happy."

Grace's face turned deathly pale. She grabbed a kitchen knife from the table and yelled, "Get out!"

Floda looked at the kitchen knife, his smile growing even more gleeful: "Grace, we used to be able to take advantage of you because you were on patrol, so we didn't dare mess with you."

"But now, you are not."

"Even if we make you suffer terribly, no one will come after us."

He wrapped the belt around his wrist and pulled a revolver out of his pocket.

"Do you really think you can protect yourself with this kitchen knife?"

"Stop struggling, just enjoy it."

He held a belt in one hand and a pistol in the other, approaching Grace on the bed step by step.

Grace was filled with despair.

Emily, I'm sorry, I can't find you anymore.

She made up her mind, then abruptly reversed the blade and aimed it at her heart.

Just then, a lazy voice came from the doorway.

"Emily, your house is so hard to find, and the doorway smells awful."

The blade pressed against Grace's heart stopped abruptly.
