Warhammer 40: Saviors Emerging from the Bottom

Chapter 83 Unfavorable Battle Situation

In the throne room of Bakda's Nest City, Xiao Yi looked at the map in front of him, which was almost entirely marked in red, and his expression gradually became serious.

This is a battlefield data packet that Liu Yi sent to several other imperial worlds. The Supreme Lord of Zhen Dan hoped to make the other governors feel the urgency in this way, thereby speeding up the aid process.

"The situation is worse than I imagined. The greens have breached the outer defenses of the Starport and have begun to seize the main defensive facilities."

Xiao Yi's finger moved back and forth on the map, trying to find loopholes in the imperial army's defenses.

"Once the starport falls, the entire planet will follow. If the green-skinned warlords are capable, none of the nearby Imperial worlds will escape."

Upon hearing this, the serious expressions on the faces of the others became even more solemn. The group of greenskins that had invaded Bakda Starport were not the same species recorded in the data packet at all.

They were faced with only a bunch of ragtag soldiers armed with cheap guns and machetes; the enemy didn't even have many sets of conspicuous heavy power armor.

On Liu Yi's opposite side were elite green-skinned warriors who had mastered both magic and technology.

Sage Dominic pulled up a scene from the data packet: a colossal junk made of haphazardly piled steel easily overturned the Leman Rustank in front of it, and the green-skinned tanks following closely behind launched an attack with the roar of their engines.

Amidst a chorus of "Waaagh," the entire screen briefly turned green, followed by a dazzling light, before going completely black.

Perhaps sensing that the crowd couldn't comprehend what had just happened, Dominic the Sage, who was disassembling the data packet, added in a completely emotionless voice:

"To stop the Greenskins, the Imperial garrison launched a miniature nuclear missile."

The scene shifts, and a screaming orc psionicist appears before everyone.

The poor fellow's hands and feet were nailed to a cross made of some unknown material by the other orc boys.

Several wires were inserted into the exposed brain, connecting to the top of the cross, where the orc boys' most intelligent fart spirit stood.

This little guy, who is anything but Waaagh, has only one task: to press the lever next to him at the right moment, causing the orc psionicist to unleash psionic lightning and wipe out all creatures around him.

Just as the orc boys were about to install the suicide device on the Skull two-wheeler, the curious Buttling moved a lever.

Then the stimulation device that the tech kid made started working.

The orc psionicist, writhing in agony, screamed as he unleashed the energy within his body.

Unlike ordinary bombs, this explosion was silent. All life forms that came into contact with the psionic fluctuations immediately disappeared without even leaving ashes.

This scene, which defies common sense, sent chills down the spines of most people.

These scenes are just a glimpse into the brutal war between humans and the Greenskins. Just now, countless Imperial soldiers lost their lives.

"If these guys get to Bakda, we won't even have the right to resist," Charles, who had been promoted to commander of the Second Army Group in Bakda, said with a wry smile.

Redmond, who was sitting next to him, nodded upon hearing this. "Given the strength shown by the Zhen Dan army, if that guy named Liu Yi really wanted to annex Bakda, it would be a piece of cake for him."

"Things aren't that simple. Conquering Bakda can't be achieved with just one war. If..."

Seeing that the meeting's discussion was about to veer off in some strange direction under Redmond's leadership, Xiao Yi coughed lightly and asked, "How's the cleanup of the remaining Greenskins at Starport going?"

Oliver, who was in charge of commanding the Starport station, immediately stood up and replied, "The surviving aliens are using the complex terrain inside the transport ship to wage guerrilla warfare against our soldiers."

"There are only two options to completely eliminate the enemy: blow the transport ship to smithereens or send more people to search every corner of its interior, but both methods are difficult to implement."

Thanks to the efforts of the Starport garrison, the Greenskins' vanguard was wiped out, but Captain Kergra of the Dry Shrimp was still unwilling to give up.

It attempted to blast Starport into rubble with the few large cannons on the transport ship that were no different from decorations.

But the defenders quickly showed it what firepower suppression meant. Under the barrage of thousands of tons of shells, the Dry Shrimp's engine was on the verge of being scrapped.

Just when everyone thought it was all over, Kergra, with his beloved warship, crashed directly onto the starport.

Therefore, to destroy the entire transport ship, the power of the explosion must be strictly controlled; otherwise, the already damaged starport could become even more devastated.

The advice of the Mechanicus sages was that it would be much safer to plant bombs inside the transport ship than to detonate them on the outside, but the greenskins inside would not agree to this.

As for the second option, it would take too long. By the time Oliver and his men had finished cleaning up the entire transport ship, the war between Liu Yi and Hograk would be almost over.

"In that case, let's go and carry out the demolition mission."

Kalan’s deep voice rang in everyone’s ears, and only then did they remember that there were three powerful Astartes warriors in the corner.

"I'll go with you."

"Here we go again, sigh!" Looking at Xiao Yi sitting at the top, Redmond and the others couldn't help but sigh.

Governors aren't like that. They should hide in the governor's mansion, indulging in pleasure, and then occasionally give nonsensical orders, causing the battlefield to fall into a terrible situation, and finally triggering a series of defeat cutscenes.

In the stories that circulate across the planets, the governor is always portrayed as corrupt and incompetent.

They had never seen a governor who enjoyed being on the front lines of battle, engaging in deep conversations with the aliens and traitors.

However, having learned from previous experiences, no one stood up to object this time.

Just then, Friedrich, who had been silent all along, stepped forward.

"Analyzing the data collected by the psionic detectors over the past few days, our unit has deduced a conclusion that is not friendly to the Empire: a powerful psionic energy is rapidly spreading outwards from the meteorite where the Greenskins are located."

"All greens affected by this will become stronger and more aggressive, and the growth cycle of larvae will be shortened. At this rate, there will only be more and more greens, which means we don't have time to wait any longer."

Collecting STCs was Friedrich's job, but he actually preferred to study all sorts of strange things, such as aliens in the Milky Way or something that could change the structure of atoms.

In fact, the Martian Sage himself did not want to attend this meeting, but considering that the Empire might have difficulty winning without his help, he did not refuse Xiao Yi's invitation.

Seeing that no one had any objections, Xiao Yi nodded and said, "In that case, it's settled."
