Warhammer 40: Saviors Emerging from the Bottom
Chapter 1: Finally, we saw them!
Deep within the nest of Bakdadi, a rat-like creature twitched its nose, searching for the scent of food in the air, when suddenly a green arc of electricity flashed, knocking it to the ground.
"Three days! Three days! I've finally seen meat again!"
In a corner where no one was paying attention, a guy dressed in tattered clothes with a robot head hanging on his chest popped up.
He was incredibly fast; before the rat could recover from its paralysis, he rushed forward and snapped its neck.
This guy, who looks even worse than a savage, is named Xiao Yi. He's an unlucky transmigrator who did nothing but take a nap at home before inexplicably arriving in this place where humans can hardly survive.
Fortunately, I had a cheat code, otherwise I wouldn't have survived until now.
The green electric arc that Xiao Yi just fired could not only stun small animals, but also change the shape of waste materials according to his ideas, assembling them into useful tools.
But this ability alone is not enough for him to survive in the highly poisonous environment of the bottom nest until now. Without a body that is immune to all poisons, one would not be qualified to breathe the air here.
According to the information recorded by the robot with the number B-59 on its chest, Xiao Yi's current body is a perfect creation made by hundreds of the world's top scientists and psionicists over thousands of years. It has maximum resistance to toxins and also possesses super strength and recovery ability.
Even predators that have been selected over tens of thousands of years in the harsh environment of the nest cannot gain the slightest advantage in close combat with him.
The reason why the human elites went to such lengths to create such a being was for one purpose only: to save humanity from the clutches of the five evil gods.
Having been here for so long, Xiao Yi had never seen any other beings that could be called human, except for himself.
Sometimes he even wondered if B-59 was lying to him.
The humans in this world may have long been ravaged by radiation and toxins, turning into all sorts of bizarre mutants. And because that outdated robot wasn't connected to the internet, the data in its database was malfunctioning.
Regardless of the truth, life goes on, and the situation is not so bad that Xiao Yi would want to commit suicide.
Suppressing his nausea, Xiao Yi opened his mouth and swallowed the whole rat. His long-term survival life in the bottom nest had made him lose his sense of taste. As long as he could get enough energy, taste was not important at all.
To be honest, the meat does taste better than various poisonous mushrooms; at least your tongue won't feel numb for long.
After finishing the less-than-appetizing meal, Xiao Yi got up to continue searching for the bottom nest's exit, which was his only hope of returning to the human world.
Just then, a series of noisy footsteps caught his attention.
For safety's sake, Xiao Yi drew his hand-forged power sword and looked warily in the direction from which the sound came. Suddenly, a bright light flashed, causing his eyes, which had been fully adapted to the darkness, to instinctively close.
Several strange screams, accompanied by gunfire, reached Xiao Yi's ears. In order to find out what had happened, he began to expand his reconnaissance network.
The bottom nest is dark, so most of the animals living there use other senses to explore their surroundings. However, a very few creatures can rely on a special energy to act as their eyes and see the world in another way. B-59 calls this power "psychic energy".
Coincidentally, Xiao Yi also possesses this skill.
"Mutants, and apparently humans, or at least something that looks like a human."
Regardless of what it is, Xiao Yi felt he should go and see.
A distance of a few hundred meters is covered in the blink of an eye for a creation of the pinnacle of human genetic technology.
Soon, Xiao Yi arrived at the edge of the battlefield. Just as he had guessed, the creatures he sensed being chased by the mutants were indeed human.
Four men and one woman are facing dozens of insane mutants.
"Finally, I've met a normal person!"
Without hesitation, Xiao Yi charged forward. Green arcs of electricity flickered around the power sword, and the blade was enveloped in a thin mist of deadly disruptive energy field.
The piercing buzzing sound successfully attracted the attention of the other humans. Under their shocked gazes, Xiao Yi began a crushing massacre, turning all sorts of bizarre mutants into piles of useless minced meat in an instant.
Faced with such a terrifying existence, the survivors were already considering retreating when a series of muffled footsteps came from the endless darkness behind the mutants.
The sound grew faster and faster, and a four-armed mutant giant with horns on its head charged towards Xiao Yi like a speeding train. The terrifying aura it carried made everyone else hold their breath.
"Blood sacrifice to the Blood God, skull offering to the skull seat!"
In a world unseen by ordinary people, violent subspace energy surges wildly into the mutant giant's body, altering its physical structure.
The already strong body swelled again, the black veins under the skin twisted like venomous snakes, and countless red lines crawled up the skin, forming rows of strange and special symbols.
With the help of this power, the mutant giant became even faster.
Deep within the warp, the God of Courage, seated firmly on his bronze throne, cast his gaze upon this unnoticed corner of the universe. A warrior who dared to challenge a "demigod" was worthy of His blessing, even though the reason for doing so was merely foolishness.
In the real world, Xiao Yi looked at the mutant giant enveloped in red energy and a disdainful smile appeared on his face.
"His strength has increased considerably, but unfortunately it's useless."
After saying that, he dashed out, and the distance between the two sides quickly closed. In the blink of an eye, they began their first confrontation.
The mutated giant's four arms attacked Xiao Yi from four directions. No matter which direction the enemy dodged, the giant could instantly adjust its attack with its terrifying reaction speed, locking the opponent in a small space.
Faced with this situation, Xiao Yi certainly couldn't just sit and wait to die. He quickly braked, twisted his waist sharply, and waited for his prey to approach like a cheetah poised to pounce.
The mutant giant's fist drew ever closer, and just as the two were about to make contact, Xiao Yi seized the opportunity to attack. The high-frequency vibrating blade tore through the air, drawing a green arc in the sky.
The four waving arms stopped abruptly, and then a large amount of blood gushed out from the severed limbs, staining the entire area where the two had been standing.
The pain did not frighten the giant; instead, it fueled his ferocity. After realizing what had just happened, he opened his mouth, ready to use his teeth to bite the human who had hurt him in half.
"A cornered beast will fight to the death; that's all there is to it."
Xiao Yi clenched his left fist and shattered the mutant giant's jaw with a single punch. Then, taking advantage of the gaping hole in the giant's center, he raised his power sword and pierced the mutant giant's heart.
Although mutants have the word "human" in their name, they actually have little to do with humans anymore. Take the guy in front of us, for example; a normal human could never have eight hearts.
The battle can only end by destroying them all, but neither the mutant giant himself nor the warp god behind him wants the battle to end so easily.
The subspace energy continuously nourished the mutant giant's severed arm, and countless grotesque-looking buds of flesh grew wildly. Before long, the severed hand would be able to grow back.
Xiao Yi "saw" all of this.
"Eight hearts, but only one head. I don't believe that if you twist your head off, it will grow back."
Xiao Yi stepped on the mutant giant's chest, drew his power sword, and raised his hand to slash at the mutant giant's head.
After being stained with the enemy's blood, the power sword became somewhat excited. Xiao Yi wondered if it was just his imagination, but he felt as if he heard someone's maniacal laughter.
The mutant giant's neck was as fragile as tofu, and it split in two in an instant. As his head hit the ground, the subspace energy that was trying to repair his body's wounds began to dissipate, just like his life.
