Chapter 25 Doro's Social Skills
Upon hearing Doro call him "Grandpa," Tony truly broke down all his defenses.
Actually, Tony didn't know that Sherlock himself didn't really care about the so-called guardianship or anything like that. After all, Sherlock was already an adult, and even if the so-called guardianship was real, it wouldn't be of much use.
As for the so-called godfather and such issues, they are not a problem for Sherlock at all. Don't ask, the answer is that such things are not popular where the rabbits are!
As for Doro calling him "Grandpa," it was purely out of disgust for Tony. After all, who would have thought that this playboy in front of him was actually his "father" in the legal sense?
What Sherlock didn't know was that Tony himself wasn't that concerned about Sherlock calling him "Dad," at least not now. The reason he said that was simply to make his argument more convincing when he tried to persuade Sherlock.
Moreover, Tony was skeptical about Sherlock's alchemy, since Sherlock's behavior in the Middle East was too similar to his stereotypical image of a magician.
As for Doro, in Tony's eyes, Doro's existence couldn't prove that Sherlock was a legendary alchemist. The only certainty was that Doro was definitely a magically created being.
Of course, if Sherlock really knew alchemy or something like that, Tony would definitely be more interested in alchemy than anyone else in the world.
At this point, Tony didn't care whether he believed Sherlock's story or not; at least he felt a little relieved that he had insisted on sending Sherlock back.
The group spent the entire journey in this strange atmosphere, each lost in their own thoughts.
It wasn't until the plane landed, and Tony was the first to step out and hug Pepper, that Pepper saw Sherlock following behind Tony. Before Sherlock could even introduce himself, Pepper blurted out Sherlock's name, which made Sherlock truly believe that Tony might indeed be his legal father.
"Sherlock? What are you doing here? And with Tony?"
Faced with Pepper's question, Tony gave a brief introduction to both of them before vaguely brushing the matter off.
"Well, I met Sherlock along the way. Since he's my 'good son,' I gave him a ride for a while."
When Tony said this, his eyes darted around, and he kept touching his nose, clearly looking guilty. Most importantly, no one with a normal IQ would believe this reason, let alone Pepper Potts, Tony's secretary and a strong woman.
Despite her disbelief, Pepper Potts was still intelligent enough not to expose Tony's utterly clumsy lie. Instead, she simply called everyone to get in the car.
Fortunately, Tony was very wealthy, and the convoy that came to pick him up had quite a few vehicles; otherwise, the three and a half extra people would have had nowhere to sit.
What? You mean Doro?
Well, in this situation, Sherlock simply stuffed Doro into his backpack. Doro was sleeping soundly inside the backpack at that moment. The little guy hadn't stopped eating since boarding the plane, and now that he was full, he naturally wanted to sleep a little longer.
When Tony and Pepper got on the same train, Pepper asked Tony about the situation almost immediately. Tony had no choice but to tell Pepper everything clearly.
However, reality is often too absurd. Since Sherlock transmigrated, he has been a shut-in for five years. Little Chili really can't believe that the poor child who was introverted, well-behaved, and didn't even like to go out much in the information she received was actually an alchemist!
Unlike in the movies, this time Tony didn't immediately hold a press conference to announce the closure of Stark's weapons division. Instead, after Pepper Potts took him to the hospital for a check-up, she took everyone back to Tony's seaside villa.
Sherlock only took Doro, who had just woken up, out of his bag after Sherlock and the others entered.
Doro was very excited about this completely unfamiliar environment, and his two short legs moved quickly as he ran around the room.
Doro's distinctly different anime art style initially startled Pepper Potts, but soon, when Doro ran up to Sherlock with the orange he had just found in Tony's kitchen, eagerly wanting to give it to Sherlock, Pepper Potts' heart melted.
Especially when Pepper picked up Doro after getting Sherlock's permission, Doro's soft, jelly-like body, coupled with his incredibly easy-to-understand and adorable anime-style face, made Pepper's maternal instincts overflow.
Sherlock suspected from that look that this guy wanted to fight him for custody of Doro.
In fact, Sherlock's suspicions were not unfounded. The moment the thought crossed his mind, Pepper Potts cautiously hugged Doro and asked Sherlock if she could let Doro play with her for a while.
Compared to Tony, Sherlock undoubtedly had a better impression of Pepper, so he agreed without any hesitation, which made Tony look at Sherlock with resentment.
Ever since Tony saw Doro, he has been extremely interested in him, but Sherlock wouldn't even give him a chance to hug Doro. The worst part is that Doro is very obedient; if Sherlock doesn't want to hug him, Doro simply won't let Tony hug him.
Even on the plane, when Tony tried to give Doro a hug, Doro dodged him with his agile movements.
Now, the little trinket he had been longing for was nestled obediently in Pepper's arms, smiling innocently, which made Tony's jealousy almost explode.
Fortunately, this situation did not last long. Sherlock stayed at Tony's mansion, while Zhao Weike and his wife left with Pepper Potts, who was carrying Doro, since they had come here for a vacation.
As for Sherlock, his identity is undeniable, and although neither Sherlock nor Tony wants to admit it, it is a fact.
On the other hand, Sherlock was waiting for Tony to modify his vehicle, while Tony was also thinking of showing Sherlock his laboratory and, incidentally, Sherlock's alchemy skills.
With all these factors combined, Sherlock stayed in Tony's mansion.
Only after everyone had left did Tony let out a relaxed sigh and say to Sherlock.
"Come on, child, let me show you around my laboratory!"
Despite following Tony's invitation, Sherlock didn't let his mouth stop talking about Tony's ideas.
"Tony, there's something I'm curious about. Why didn't you shut down Stark Industries' weapons division immediately after you came back?"
