Journey to the West: Starting with the True Lord of the Pure Land

Chapter 386 The Rude Thief Steals the Feather, Enraging the Buddha Mother

East China Sea.

The lingering glow of the five-colored light reflected off the rippling blue waves, creating a scene resembling a pure, crystal-clear world.

Master Ziyang looked ashamed and sighed:

"My skills are lacking, my understanding is shallow, and my strength is weak. Not only have I failed to stop their ferocity, but I have also failed to..."

The fact that True Lord Fan Lei personally intervened nearly tarnished the reputation of the Xuanmen sect; reflecting on this, he felt truly ashamed.

Upon hearing this, Chen Jiao shook his head and said, "There's no need for that, Master. Subduing demons and protecting living beings is what we should do."

"The fact that a true master stepped forward when the group of cultivators remained silent demonstrates the righteousness of the Xuanmen (Taoist school). How can there be any talk of shame?"

Upon hearing this, Master Ziyang felt much of his pent-up frustration dissipate, and a hint of joy appeared on his face.

He had previously heard from old friends in the Heavenly Court that this Huangtian Jingfa Zhenjun held a high position and wielded great power, and was cold and aloof, seemingly difficult to get along with.

Having personally encountered and observed the True Lord's words today, I now realize that many of the rumors are false.

Although the True Lord possesses a dignified and awe-inspiring presence, he is not an unreasonable, arrogant, or domineering person.

Master Ziyang straightened up, shook his head and sighed:

"The True Lord has likely incurred considerable karmic consequences for this act today."

Chen Jiao remained calm, gazing at the increasingly clear, towering ancient tree in the east, and said:

"Cause and effect, the law of cause and effect, have their own logic. I only know to do what I ought to do and what I ought to do."

Knowing that the True Lord did not care much, Master Ziyang said no more, only saying: "This time, the emergence of the ancient grotto heaven has stirred up all directions, with dragons and snakes mixed together."

"With the arrival of the True Lord, he should be able to quell the situation and order the villains to cease their activities, which would be a blessing for all living beings."

Chen Jiao did not say much, but stood quietly on the auspicious cloud, lowering his gaze.

Its position has its own pivot, causing all the immortals, demons, and monsters who are secretly watching from all directions to feel awe and quietly restrain their aura, not daring to act rashly.

Across the vast sea, the chaotic spiritual energy is gradually calming down, while in the far distance, thick tribulation clouds have begun to gather silently, with faint flashes of lightning.

As time passed, more and more cultivators and spirits arrived, crowding the area densely.

Whether hidden in the clouds or dwelling on islands, their energies intertwine, all waiting for their opportune moment.

…………

Lingshan, a tranquil courtyard.

The courtyard was filled with the fragrance of sandalwood, and the faint sound of chanting could be heard.

On a smooth, white jade disc, a huge image of the Peacock King is painted.

Its feathers shimmered, their five colors swirling, its appearance solemn and dignified, as if it were about to burst forth from the wall.

Beneath the wall, on a lotus platform, a woman dressed in a light white silk robe, wearing a jeweled crown and adorned with necklaces, is sitting cross-legged in a mudra.

Her face was as white as porcelain, with a dot of cinnabar between her brows. Behind her, five-colored rays of light swirled and flowed, and above her, a halo shone brightly.

It was none other than the Buddha Mother, the Peacock King Bodhisattva.

Suddenly, her eyes snapped open.

In an instant, the entire courtyard was illuminated.

Without warning, five-colored rays of light shot into the sky, intense and brilliant, almost momentarily obscuring the pure Buddhist light of half of the sacred mountain.

Fortunately, he controlled the flow of light at will; the divine light appeared briefly and then vanished, quickly receding and leaving only the lingering glow of the sunset in the courtyard.

The peacock's chest rose and fell slightly, clearly indicating that it was still unsettled.

Her lips parted slightly, revealing her pearly teeth, as if she wanted to scold, but it ultimately turned into a cool whisper that echoed in the room:

"How dare you, you impudent thief, steal my precious feather!"

He only uttered one curse, yet he still couldn't quell the hatred in his heart.

The five-colored feather that Chen Jiao took was transformed from her innate five elements of primordial energy.

Later, he refined the essence of the Five Elements, laying the foundation for the great supernatural power "Five-Colored Divine Light". Their energy was interconnected, making them infinitely mysterious.

Each of her life-giving feathers is tied to her cultivation, containing the profound mysteries of the five elements' birth, death, and cycle, making them incomparably precious.

Even if a feather is taken away, it does not damage the foundation, but it is like losing a finger. How can one not be angry?

If Dapeng hadn't been her full brother, sharing a profound connection through blood, this time...

Why would she easily part with one of her life-bound feathers to help him transform and protect himself?

Unexpectedly, the True Lord used the power of the Taiyi Magic Sword to cut him down and capture him!

Upon thinking of this, she could hardly contain herself and wanted to personally descend to the mortal realm, use her great supernatural powers to capture that junior along with Lingyu and bring him back to teach him a lesson.

However, she forcibly suppressed this thought as soon as it arose.

Regardless of whether Buddha seemed to treat that True Lord differently, the previous debate on the Dharma at Mount Ling had already reached a consensus.

Her mere intervention in the affairs of the East Sea using her feathered avatar has likely offended Taiyi, who is stationed there.

Not to mention, that True Lord was a direct disciple of Laozi, with a powerful background, and his senior brother, the Grand Master Xuandu, was known throughout the Three Realms as someone not to be trifled with...

Numerous entanglements, deeply intertwined.

Thinking of this, the peacock's eyes flashed with even more anger, yet mixed with a hint of apprehension.

She slowly closed her eyes, and behind her, five-colored rays of light flowed and finally returned to silence.

Only the peacock on the wall remains, still proudly standing.

The peacock sat quietly with its eyes closed, trying to calm its mind and quell its anger.

However, the humiliation of having his feathers stolen and the feeling of being bullied by younger generations clung to his heart like a poisonous vine, growing ever more intense with each suppression.

Before long, she suddenly opened her eyes.

Her porcelain-white face flushed slightly with anger, adding a touch of breathtaking beauty.

A hint of ferocity flickered between its brows and eyes, and the five-colored glow behind it rippled incessantly. The Bodhisattva's wondrous appearance, which it had cultivated for so long, almost failed to maintain, revealing a trace of the arrogant nature of an ancient ferocious bird.

What kind of background does she have?

With noble bloodline, blessed by the Five Elements, they attained enlightenment in ancient times and roamed freely without restraint.

Even if he had swallowed the Buddha on a whim back then, who on Mount Ling would dare to treat him with disrespect?

Instead, she was revered as the Buddha Mother, enjoying boundless offerings from Mount Ling, and her status was extraordinary.

Today, a human junior who has only cultivated for a few hundred years has actually managed to defeat him by relying on his master's magical treasures.

They snatched away her foundational feathers right in front of her, and then expected her to consider this and that, and swallow her anger!

In her eyes, what difference was there between the roc that devoured the blood and flesh of living beings and a speck of dust? Was it really worth such a great fuss?

The peacock grew increasingly agitated, its silver teeth nearly grinding to powder in its mouth.

She suppressed her restless energy, gently pointed her jade finger forward, and a dazzling Buddhist light fell from her fingertip, swelling upon landing.

Then a disheveled figure appeared before the lotus platform; it was none other than the Golden-Winged Roc.

But at this moment, the roc was truly in a pitiful state. Like mud, with only one wing remaining on its back.

His left arm was twisted and limp, hanging down, his feathers were tattered and bloodstains were everywhere, and his breath was extremely weak, clearly indicating that he had suffered a serious injury.

Upon seeing this, the peacock's jade-like face turned fierce.

Although she disliked Dapeng in the past, he was still her younger brother. To hurt him like this was no different from slapping her in the face.

Peacock remained expressionless, then pointed again, and a point of pure Buddhist light fell like sweet dew, enveloping the roc, nourishing its broken bones, and calming its chaotic blood and qi.

Before long, Dapeng's breathing stabilized. Although he was still seriously injured, his life was no longer in danger.

Dapeng opened his eyes and caught a glimpse of the white figure shrouded in five-colored light on the lotus platform. He dared not act recklessly and only said:

"Greetings, Bodhisattva."

The peacock did not respond, but instead looked down coldly at him from its high perch, and said:

"I am releasing you from Mount Ling so that you may go to Jianmu Palace and retrieve the Jiamu spiritual root for me."

You yourself can also use this to find the innate Qi of Jia Wood, complete the Five Elements, and comprehend the Great Dao. This is of utmost importance.

She paused slightly, then turned stern, saying:

"With such a bountiful opportunity before you, instead of seizing it, you indulge in your gluttony, causing trouble on the East Sea and even attracting the wrath of that rude little thief!"
