Exploiting those who are already well-off!

Before Ron flew toward the portal, he glanced one last time at Felix, who had expressionlessly taken everything from his storage bag, and a wicked thought suddenly formed in his mind:

"Old man, that's the betrothal gift. Don't even think about your granddaughter!"

"No one can stop me, I said it!"

Seemingly feeling that doing so would be a bit embarrassing, Felix tossed the storage bag to Ron at the last moment before Ron entered the portal.

Ron grabbed it and held it tightly to his chest.

"I'm still too kind-hearted. I'll have Adele take the kids back to see this old man later."

In the last moment before losing consciousness, Ron had this thought in his mind, and then he left this world.

"Old man, you're going too far!"

"He kidnapped my granddaughter, so what's wrong with me taking a few more magic stones from him? If it weren't for Adele's sake, I would have confiscated his storage bag."

"Too."

Salin listened to the old man's words and thought they made sense. He nodded and said nothing more, but when he checked the remaining apprentices, he became even more ruthless.

Seeing this, the others followed suit, adhering to the principle of not disrupting the market, and with tears in their eyes, they increased their commission from the original 30% to 60%.

The crowd, who had been gloating over Ron's misfortune, were now completely unable to laugh.

In a silent space, darkness enveloped everything, and an eerie mist filled the air, so thick that one could not see their own hand in front of their face.

Suddenly, countless faint rays of light appeared, bringing a glimmer of light to this endless dark land.

Ron's consciousness was in a blur at this moment. He vaguely felt as if he was flying in the air, or as if he were underwater, and he was upside down and had no idea which way to go.

And so, I don't know how much time passed.

It wasn't until he felt a warm sensation on his skin that he was awakened from his daze.

......

"Brother, look, there's a shooting star in the sky!"

"Lisa, didn't I tell you not to keep looking up at the sky? Why don't you listen?"

In a city steeped in industrialization, a young man living in a modest apartment in the southern district looked helplessly at his inquisitive younger sister and sighed.

The young man's name was Ryan Diller, a college student in Trolen. A chance encounter a few days ago allowed him to witness the truth of this world.

He also became a superhuman, a prophet.

Based on this identity, he was invited to join the Black Rose Security Company, a special operations group under the Church of the Moon Goddess.

He found a good job right after graduating from university and was quite satisfied with his life. However, his younger sister never listened to his advice and always wanted to become an astronomer.

Actually, this wouldn't have been a big deal at first, but as his understanding of the extraordinary world deepened, Ryan gradually came to understand some forbidden knowledge related to it, such as:

What's hidden in the sky is often more dangerous than what's on the ground.

That's why he kept trying to dissuade his younger sister from looking up at the sky. She was his only sister, and he naturally didn't want anything to happen to her.

"Brother, there really were shooting stars in the sky! It's the first time I've ever seen one. Please take a look!"

Hearing Lisa's earnest words, Ryan, who had initially thought she was mistaken, suddenly narrowed his eyes, as if he had thought of something. He then disregarded any taboos and looked up sharply towards the sky.

The pollution I had imagined did not appear; instead, there were dazzling shooting stars streaking across the sky like the sun.

Upon seeing this, Ryan felt a sense of foreboding.

"Lisa, that's enough for today. You can go back now. I still have some work to take care of."

The girl was about to say something as she listened to her brother's words, but in the instant her eyes met those deep brown eyes beneath the young man's black, tousled hair, she clearly saw the worry hidden within them.

Although she longed for her brother to stay with her a little longer, Lisa understood from her impoverished childhood that she should be sensible and not let her brother worry.

So she nodded and said, "Okay, then I'll go back and wait for you and my brother to come back."

Ryan responded to his sister with a smile, but his smile vanished after he saw her off onto the public carriage.

I rushed towards the company.

After crossing several streets, he finally arrived at his workplace: Black Rose Security Company.

On the surface, they do security and private investigation work, but in reality, they are the guardians of Trolen City, also known as the Night Watch squad of the Church of the Moon.

As soon as he entered the building, Ryan found that everyone else was already there. He nodded to Lynn, the captain of the Night Watch squad, and quietly walked to an empty seat to sit down, wanting to know what had happened that day.

"I'm sure you all saw the meteor shower that suddenly appeared today, right?"

"I saw it, but Captain, that probably doesn't mean anything, right?"

A very classy young man sitting in front asked the question. His name was Mitchell. During the few days Ryan had been working there, he had gotten to know this guy the best. He was a very flamboyant guy.

"I don't know either, but we received a message from the Vatican Council in Grasse, telling us to prepare for the highest level of emergency."

"I don't think I need to elaborate on that, do I?"

"Highest level emergency preparedness? What on earth happened? Has the Vatican gone mad?" Mitchell's voice echoed in the hall, but unfortunately, no one could answer his question.

After returning home, Ryan had dinner with his sister Lisa and older brother Bens, then made an excuse that he wasn't feeling well and went back to his room.

Upon entering his room, he immediately took out a series of extraordinary materials from a drawer.

Sleeping Flower, Snake Saliva, Red Peppermint...

After arranging these items one by one according to the ritual procedure, Ryan began his prayer for the evening:

"Lord of the Shadows who shroud all spirits, Holder of the Veil of Oblivion, Blesser of Slumber and Peace, Great Moon Goddess, Your faithful follower beseeches your guidance..."

As a history major, Ryan had always maintained a neutral attitude towards the church and religious beliefs.

Even after joining the Night's Watch, he never changed his original beliefs.

In his view, there is no such thing as a god in this world; these are merely products of history.

But now, faced with this situation, he so desperately wished that there really were gods in this world who could help him resolve his inner turmoil.

Time passed by, and just as Ryan was contemplating whether he should go to bed.

A beam of light suddenly appeared before my eyes.

That was the moon shining through the window.

"My child, our world is facing a tremendous crisis; alien gods are invading..."
