Wizard: The exploration panel keeps me pure.
Chapter 6: The Start of School, Substitute Teacher
three days later.
At the central plaza of the Red Moon Tower Academy, a group of teenagers gathered in twos and threes, seemingly waiting for something.
Looking down from above, they resembled countless ants, densely packed throughout the entire square.
Ron stood alone at the back of the crowd, looking at the people in front of him, silently counting the number of people:
"Nearly five thousand new students."
This scale was indeed somewhat beyond his expectations.
After all, in this world, those who possess wizarding talent are already one in a thousand, let alone five thousand new students, given the Red Moon Tower's standards for recruiting new students.
"The re-examination a year from now probably won't be easy," I couldn't help but think.
Just as he was pondering these things, a group of people approached from a distance.
Each of them was dressed in a bright red wizard's robe and held a staff, causing the surrounding flowers and plants to bow down wherever they went.
Upon seeing this, Ron realized that the newcomer was no ordinary person.
Sure enough, a middle-aged man at the very front shouted, "Silence!"
After everyone quieted down, he continued, "Now, those whose names are called, come with me."
Below, a group of young men and women, bewildered, wore expressions of tension or excitement, their eyes fixed on the person who had spoken.
"Class One, Adele Moderson, Eric Rolles... Ron Seraphim."
The middle-aged man called out the names of forty-nine people one after another. The person whose name was called immediately stepped out from the crowd and stood in front of all the new students present.
When he called out the last person's name, Ron finally heard his own name from that person.
Like the people whose names were called, I jogged to the front and stood with them.
The middle-aged man looked at the young men and women standing in front of him, nodded, and then turned around and said, "Keep up."
After saying that, without waiting to see if they heard him or not, he walked straight in one direction.
The group exchanged glances and immediately followed.
After the group left the square, another person from the group of red-robed wizards stepped forward and began to read out the classes and names.
However, none of this concerns them anymore.
After walking for about ten minutes with the middle-aged red-robed wizard in front of them, a small wooden building appeared in front of Ron and the others. Under the midday sun, it looked mysterious and unique.
Once inside, they discovered that it was a classroom.
"Find a seat yourself."
The middle-aged man stood on the podium expressionlessly, casually giving an instruction to the crowd outside, his tone cold and indifferent.
Upon hearing this, everyone sprang into action, scrambling for the seats in front.
Unlike them, Ron casually found a seat in the middle back and sat down, then remained still, staring intently at the middle-aged man on the podium.
The classroom was noisy, but the person on the podium kept his eyes closed, seemingly unconcerned, as if it had nothing to do with him.
Robert Sainsteil
Age: 38/60
[Attributes: Constitution 18.6, Spirit 19.1]
[Strength: High-level Wizard Apprentice (Maximum)]
[Pollution Level: Physical 72%, Mental 17.5/19.1]
[Comment: Life and death, madness and reason—the relationship between opposing forces is vividly embodied in him. Perhaps you will witness the fate of a gambler.]
[The following measures are recommended to reduce mental pollution.]
Option 1: Comprehend the true meaning of the "Crimson Moon"; Option 2: ...
"This person..."
The panel that appeared before his eyes made Ron's pupils widen. This was the strongest and most corrupted person he had ever seen since entering the academy.
Seemingly sensing his gaze, the middle-aged man opened his eyes, which had been closed.
He frowned and scanned everyone in the classroom before finally fixing his gaze on the boy in the center of the classroom.
The instant their eyes met, he felt as if he were drowning, his whole body sinking to the bottom of the water, his eyes, ears, nose and mouth submerged in the icy water, unable to see the light and unable to breathe.
Fortunately, the middle-aged man only glanced at him before closing his eyes again.
"Phew~"
The moment the other person looked away, he snapped out of his daze, broke out in a cold sweat, and slumped onto the stool, unable to move.
Fortunately, the people in front of me were busy grabbing seats and didn't notice me.
He couldn't help but think to himself.
Just then, a slightly rough voice reached his ears:
"Hey kid, I've got my eye on this spot. You can move to the back."
Ron turned his head toward the source of the sound and saw a burly man with a face full of scars and a height of nearly 1.9 meters walking in front of him.
Charlie Mills
Age: 14/61
[Attributes: Constitution 1.72, Spirit 1.41]
[Strength: None]
[Pollution Level: Physical 1.3%, Mental 1.2/1.41]
[Comment: Poor guy, he dedicated his brain to the truth and didn't even smell the other person's scent.]
[The following measures are recommended to reduce mental pollution.]
Option 1: Consume the brains of the "corrosive black pig"; Option 2: ...
He twitched his lips and looked at the person in front of him. He had originally wanted to see which guy was so arrogant, but he didn't expect him to be a "special person". He was only fifteen years old but had the face of a forty-year-old. Was his brain polluting and affecting his body as well?
"What are you looking at? Didn't you hear me tell you to get to the back?"
Seeing that he didn't move, Charlie raised his voice and his expression became fierce, as if he would attack him if he didn't get up.
Upon hearing this, Ron, who was sitting in the chair, remained motionless, simply staring at the other person with a calm expression.
He knew that this guy was just talking and wouldn't actually dare to do anything. On the first day of school, before figuring out the rules of the middle-aged man at the head of the class, who would want to make things difficult for themselves?
Sure enough, as expected, Charlie rolled up his sleeves, walked up to him, and said threateningly, "Pretty boy, you've got guts, huh? I'll see if you can stay this 'hard' forever!"
After saying that, the guy found a seat to his right and sat down, staring intently at his back.
The others who were originally scrambling for seats at the front were also drawn over by the commotion.
Upon seeing this, many people glanced at the boy with mocking eyes and silently mourned for his future life.
After all, judging from appearance alone, the slightly thin Ron was clearly at a disadvantage.
The middle-aged wizard on the platform, who had kept his eyes closed, also noticed this scene and a slight smile appeared on his lips:
"interesting."
After everyone had chosen their seats, he clapped his hands, his expression returning to its previous indifference, his tone devoid of any emotion:
"I am your senior from a few years ago, and also your substitute mentor, Robert Sainsteil."
"For the next year, I will be teaching you basic meditation and ancient wizarding history."
"However, don't come to me with any problems. I won't be responsible for them, except for paying for magic stones."
"Alright, is there anything else you don't understand?"
Everyone in the audience shook their heads, indicating that there was no problem.
"Alright, let's begin class."
"Meditation is to use mental power as the driving force, runes as the guide, and the soul as the furnace..."
"When you can mentally draw the first rune in your mind, you will have successfully advanced to the novice wizard apprentice level."
"Mr. Robert, how much mental energy is needed to create the first rune?"
"It varies from person to person; one-tenth of a unit of magic stone will be recorded in the class fund."
"???"
"Ring ring~"
The clock on the wall in the center of the classroom chimed, and Robert closed his textbook.
"get out of class dismissed~"
When those two words reached everyone's ears from outside the classroom, they were finally brought back to their senses.
