Chapter 28 The Mechanical Heart, Arrival
"Please do not crowd and queue in an orderly manner."
In front of the group of people, an airship staff member wearing a blue work uniform shouted into a megaphone to the crowd standing outside the airship.
Ron looked at the scene before him and felt a little awkward.
Based on the original owner's memories, he had always believed that this world was similar to the feudal society of medieval Western Europe. However, his experiences during this period, as well as the knowledge he had gained from books, changed his mind.
He doesn't know what the world is like now.
"Mr. Ron, it's our turn to board."
Lillian, who was standing nearby, noticed that he was a little distracted and assumed that he was thinking about the arrangements for the rest of the journey, so she quickly reminded him.
His thoughts were pulled back to the present. Ron looked at the slowly moving queue ahead and nodded to the girl.
Once inside, he opened the panel and began to check the information of the massive object before him:
【Warhawk Airship - Type X】
Rank: None
[Contamination Level: None]
[Evaluation: A common creation from Mechanical Heart, with potential for widespread adoption.]
The following improvements are recommended.
Option 1: Draw a magic-powered magic array inside the airship...
"A mechanical heart?"
Ron kept recalling the name in his mind, but after thinking for a long time, he was certain that he had never heard of it before.
"Could this be a wizarding organization?"
He silently speculated in his heart, but found it somewhat unbelievable. After all, just hearing the name of this thing made him feel that it didn't fit into the wizarding world he was in, and it was filled with a magical realism atmosphere.
Stepping inside, Ron was even more astonished by the interior design.
The minimalist decor, the seats designed similarly to those on vehicles from my previous life, and the luggage racks all gave me the feeling of traveling back in time.
"Could it be that I'm not the only one who time-traveled?" I couldn't help but wonder.
"Lillian, do you know the origin of the airship?"
With a thirst for knowledge and a willingness to ask questions, Ron asked the girl sitting next to him about the origin of the object.
"Hmm~ I remember there are records in our family. It seems that about three hundred years ago, a group of cultists who called themselves the 'Cult of the Machine God' came to Valantia to spread their doctrines. In the end, they were wiped out by several wizarding academies. This thing was made based on the blueprints of the spoils of war that were captured at that time."
"The Cult of Machines, a cult?"
"Yes, later on, all the major wizarding organizations strictly prohibited the dissemination of anything related to these things, so only these ordinary objects without magical properties have survived."
No wonder, during my time at the academy, I didn't say I was an avid reader, but I did know a thing or two about the history of Valantia.
But I've never heard of any information about this "Cult of the Machine God" before; it turns out it's been "banned."
Just then, another question suddenly occurred to him:
How could the Lillian family in front of us have documents recording these things?
You should know that as a student of the Red Moon Tower, I have never seen any information about it in the academy library. How did a little family that I've never even heard of know about it?
Thinking of this, he looked at the girl intently.
The family behind the other party doesn't seem as simple as I thought.
That makes sense, though. Judging from my interactions with her over the past few days, it's clear that most small families can't cultivate such outstanding individuals.
Lying back in his chair, Ron stopped thinking about these things.
The most important thing right now is to get to Nur's City as soon as possible. We can talk about everything else later.
Seeing that he had lost interest in talking, Lillian didn't continue the conversation and, like him, leaned back in her chair to rest.
About half a day later, the seats on the airship were almost full. The staff member in the blue uniform who had been there earlier stood at the entrance and shouted:
"Is anyone else here? The airship is about to take off. Passengers who haven't boarded yet, please hurry."
These words made Ron's lips twitch as he closed his eyes and concentrated. A strange yet familiar feeling welled up in his heart, as if he had returned to the bus station in his small town in his previous life.
Seeing that there was no one outside, the staff shouted towards the captain's cabin again, "Takeoff!"
And so, after a bumpy ride, they finally set off towards Norris City.
Inside the pure white wizard tower within the Red Moon Tower Academy, Lady Salin gazed at the increasingly blurred and chaotic guidance of fate with an unusually solemn expression.
"Why has the trajectory of that kid's fate become increasingly unpredictable ever since he met that girl?"
"What on earth happened?"
......
Meanwhile, in the dimly lit office of the Inspector General, Velens listened to his subordinates' report, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"My lord, I have sent Ander and his men to Nur's City. I believe they will be able to complete the task you assigned them in no time."
"You handled this well, I'll remember that. Now you can leave."
"Yes."
As the office door closed, the thin man exhaled a soft breath: "Old man, I've taken care of everything that needed to be taken care of. You should hurry up and get promoted."
......
Three days later, the airship slowly landed on an open field.
"Dear guests, we have arrived at our final destination – Nurs City. Please line up and disembark in an orderly manner."
Looking out the window at the magnificent city not far away, Ron couldn't help but marvel once again at the magical nature of this world.
It is truly incredible that a society with production relations still in a feudal state, and even with the existence of slave trade, could possess such outdated creations and buildings.
They disembarked from the airship together with Lillian, and rented a carriage on the road outside. With the girl's directions, they headed towards the city center.
"Mr. Ron, thank you so much for your help."
"If it weren't for you, I'm afraid I would never have seen my family again."
Hearing the girl's gratitude, Ron remained unmoved, his face still bearing that friendly smile: "This is just a normal transaction, no need to say such things."
The implication is that you shouldn't forget to give them the magic stones.
"In any case, I still want to thank you for your help. I will pay you the reward when I get back."
Lillian was very clever and immediately understood what he meant.
But one thing at a time, she won't lose the gratitude she deserves.
Ron smiled and didn't say anything more.
Soon, the carriage passed through the crowded streets and arrived outside a mansion.
The walls built of massive stones exude an ancient aura under the sunlight, and the tall gatehouse in the center immediately tells you that the people living inside are of extraordinary status.
After settling the driver's bill, he followed Lillian inside, which gave him an even stronger sense of being in a city within a city.
Small houses, big houses, watchtowers, arrow emplacements, main buildings... all sorts of defensive works make this place impenetrable.
At first glance, it really does look like a small fortress.
As soon as I entered, a voluptuous and beautiful woman came to greet me. Judging from her attire, she was probably a housekeeper or something similar.
Upon seeing the two of them for the first time, the other person's face lit up with surprise:
"Miss Lillian, you're finally back! Where have you been all these days? The master and madam were so worried, and the Earl was also very concerned about you."
"Alright, Aunt Anna, I'm back now. Where are Father and Mother? I need to talk to them."
"They're in the drawing room now. It seems a very important person has arrived; the Earl is there too."
"Okay, that's perfect. I'll go wait over there."
Hearing the girl's words, the housekeeper Anna rubbed her forehead, feeling helpless against this young lady of the house.
Just then, she noticed Ron, who hadn't spoken until now: "Miss Lillian, who is this young gentleman?"
"He is my guest."
"Oh, hello, distinguished guest, welcome to the Jeanne family, please forgive my rudeness."
"fine."
He looked at the polite and courteous woman in front of him without any change in expression. Perhaps because he had spent so much time with Fiona and Adele, his resistance to beauty had increased considerably compared to before.
"Alright, Aunt Anna, we have something to do, so we'll be leaving now."
