Chapter 216 Heart-to-Heart Talk

Chapter 217 Heart-to-Heart Talk

Ron and Swano listened to the old man's words, but neither of them spoke; they simply responded in silence.

Ron simply didn't want to waste his breath arguing with the other party about these things. In his opinion, it was better to spend his time on cultivation than to argue about such trivial matters. After all, even if the academy had major flaws, it was not something a mere apprentice like himself could meddle in.

Swano remained silent because he actually agreed with the old man's words.

However, with Ron standing nearby, he was too embarrassed to say it outright.

Although Taiping shared his thoughts with the boy beside him last night, it's better to avoid saying certain things if possible.

The old man named Slytherin looked at the two young people standing in front of him, a look of nostalgia in his cold eyes.

Perhaps it's a nostalgia for the youthful days of the past, or perhaps it's a recollection of what was done back then.

"Alright, alright, I know you two kids wouldn't dare gossip about those old geezers behind their backs. Swano, since I promised you, I will never go back on my word. Just relax. If there's nothing else, you two can go now. I still have some experiments to do and don't have time to entertain you two kids."

Hearing the words of the Slytherin on the other side, Swano's lips curled into a slight smile.

Without any intention of lingering any longer, he bowed respectfully to the old man before him and said, "In that case, we'll be going now. You go ahead with your business, Mr. Slytherin."

Without saying another word, Ron turned and left the alley. He didn't even bother to talk to the old man in front of him. He just gave him a serious look before leaving and followed Swano out of the alley that emitted a faint green light.

Slytherin stood there, watching the two young men walk away.

Only after the two figures disappeared around the corner of the alley did the old man withdraw his gaze, put his hands behind his back, hunch his body, and slowly walk into the house, finally disappearing into the pale green darkness.

Ron stopped walking after he had walked out of the dark alley.

Swano continued walking silently ahead, seemingly oblivious to his movements, until he realized the footsteps behind him had stopped. Only then did he turn around, looking at the boy with a puzzled expression: "What's wrong, Ron? Is something the matter?"

Ron stared expressionlessly at the young man standing opposite him, a hint of inquiry flashing in his eyes: "Senior Swano, don't you think you need to explain what happened today to me? At least let me understand why you took me to see Mr. Weasleyn?"

Upon hearing this, Swano frowned slightly, then slowly walked up to Ron, his eyes fixed on the boy's pale green pupils.

To be fair, Ron's green eyes possess a unique charm when illuminated by the sun.

At least, that's how it was perceived by this genius from the Tower of the Red Moon: "What do you think my purpose was in taking you to see Mr. Slytherin?"

"Winning over and gaining ideological agreement."

After hearing the question, Ron blurted out those two words without hesitation.

In fact, he had already made many guesses in his mind, but in the end he still felt that these two were the other party's main objectives.

The two had never met before and had only just met yesterday. How could the other party be so kind as to find a way out for them?

Such a situation was extremely rare in his previous life, let alone in the wizarding world, a place full of strangeness and corruption. Ron didn't believe in his heart that the young man in front of him would do such a thing.

After listening to his words, Swano gave him an appreciative smile: "You are really smart, junior Ron. Whether it is in the study of wizarding knowledge and theory or in other aspects, I have never met anyone as smart as you, although I haven't met many strangers either."

After saying this, Swano suddenly fell silent again, stroking the stubble on his chin, seemingly deep in thought.

Ron wasn't in a hurry; he had plenty of patience and time to wait for the other party's answer.

As if he had quickly figured something out, the young man standing in front of him gave his explanation: "Junior Ron, I think your idea is not wrong. The reason I brought you to see Mr. Slytherin and asked him to make sure you were safe is because of the two purposes you mentioned."

"You know, I can't achieve my dreams alone. I need companions, like-minded companions."

"I told you so much last night, but you never showed even the slightest hint of mockery or contempt on your face. You should know that in all my years of life experience, you are the first and only person who did not show any expression after listening to my ideals."

"I didn't sense any surprise from you at all; it seemed as if it were perfectly natural. You agreed with my views—oh no, that's not quite accurate, but generally speaking, you at least didn't disagree with them."

"And that's the main reason I brought you to see Mr. Slytherin today. I need a companion. I need someone to confide in, someone so that I won't feel too lost while striving for my ideals."

The young man's eyes were fixed on Ron's expression, as if making a final confirmation.

Ron, too, looked at the unwavering determination in the other's eyes and remained silent, as if silence was his best protection.

Swano watched him bow his head and remain silent, his expression gradually shifting from serious to joyful.

Today he found someone who shares his ideals. This may not prove that his ideas are correct, but at least being recognized by others gives him a reason to persevere.

It is important to understand that a person's path is always lonely. Even the greatest wizards who walk the path of truth always need to find their own reasons to support them on this solitary journey.

Swano doesn't believe that what he thinks is the truth, but he is willing to dedicate himself to this path.

After listening to what the other person said, Ron remained silent for a long time.

He didn't know what to say to the other person, nor whether he should comment on the ideals of the young man in front of him:

To say he's too idealistic is wrong, but idealism isn't inherently wrong; to say he's impractical is wrong, but his memories from his past life tell him that what the other person is thinking does indeed have a possibility of being realized.

Finally, all the chaotic thoughts subsided, and only one thought remained in his mind: the information about the old man named Slytherin that he had observed with his detection panel when he left that alley.
