Chapter 21 The Identical Monster

Ron reacted in an instant as he watched the fireball hurtling toward him.

He rolled to the side with all his might, and then a fireball appeared in his hand, which he threw at Lowens opposite him.

At the same time, he turned and ran without the slightest hesitation.

Wizarding Code Thirty-Two: Always be vigilant about tomorrow and the unexpected; running away is not contrary to the truth.

"Bang!"

A huge explosion came from behind him. He didn't look back, nor did he dare to, because he knew that his little tricks couldn't possibly cause any harm to the other party.

Such a loud noise didn't alert anyone, which clearly meant something was wrong. He guessed that the other party must have used some kind of sorcery to block out sound and senses.

The only thing we can do now is run. If we can get out of the area controlled by their witchcraft, we will have a chance to be rescued.

The academy has a rule that all forms of private fighting are prohibited within the academy's grounds. If any magical fluctuations are detected to exceed the threshold, someone will immediately come to the rescue.

Unfortunately, the idea was beautiful, but reality was harsh.

He hadn't run more than a few steps when he heard a whooshing sound behind him, and he dodged to the side with all his might.

"Bang!"

"Hiss~" The boy gasped, clutching his left arm in pain as he turned to look at the person behind him. Clearly, he had been hit after all.

However, it wasn't a complete waste of effort. The opponent's attack was redirected from the chest to the shoulder, turning a fatal wound into a minor one. You could say that this was a stroke of incredible luck.

However, it seems my left hand is dislocated.

He mentally assessed his own situation while also observing the situation on the field.

Lowens was covered in charred remains, his skin and flesh exposed, and the air was filled with the smell of burning.

The blood-red moonlight shone on the other person's face, highlighting their emotionless eyes. Their mouth was wide open, revealing a wanton and ferocious smile. They seemed to have lost all reason, leaving only madness.

"What's wrong with this guy?"

Upon seeing this, a question immediately popped into Ron's mind, and he immediately thought of the monster he had encountered in the Corrosive Swamp.

There seem to be some similarities between the two, but something seems to be missing.

Just as he was thinking this, several fleshy tentacles appeared behind the middle-aged man, extending outwards in a crooked manner, as if they were not yet used to the outside world.

"..."

That's right, exactly the same.

Looking at Lowens, who was still mutating, a heavy feeling welled up in his heart. He knew that his premonition had come true and that he had really been targeted by the person behind this monster.

"That was incredibly fast."

He had just come out of the patrol office, and they were already so eager to silence him.

Was it really necessary to send a suicide squad?

Moreover, Lowens seems to be from the Inspectorate; things are really complicated here.

As he thought about these things, he slowly backed away.

After realizing that this guy was the same kind of pig-headed monster, he had an idea: to go through the same process with the person in front of him as last time.

As for the water issue, it's actually quite easy to solve.

The two were right next to the college's Lover's Lake; just a couple more steps away, and the water would naturally appear.

After thinking it through, Ron immediately turned around and ran towards the lake while the other person was still playing with those few whiskers.

Familiar voice, familiar tentacles.

"puff."

The water flow hit the other person's body surface, making a sizzling sound, just like sulfuric acid being splashed on the skin.

"Snap." With a flick of two fingers of his right hand, a ball of fire appeared in his hand, which he then flung towards the other person.

Flames danced in the night sky, making the already blood-red sky even redder. He heard voices coming from not far away, and he knew that he had survived this time by sheer luck.

Hearing footsteps approaching, I wanted to wait a little longer until the flames died down to see if I could get the same reward as last time.

However, he also knew that this place was not a good place to stay for long.

If Ron is taken to the patrol office again this time, he's not sure if he'll come out alive.

He pulled up his hood, hurriedly erased all traces of himself, and then continued on his way back to the dormitory.

Shortly after he left, three figures appeared here, exchanged glances, and then looked together at the red crystal on the ground.

After a while, one of them spoke up: "Take this back and show it to your advisor."

"Hmm/I have no objection."

Soon, the three figures disappeared into the forest again, taking with them the crystal left behind by the flames.

Meanwhile, after returning to his dorm, Ron immediately found something to reposition his dislocated left hand. The process can be summed up in one word:

pain!

After treating his injuries, the sky had turned completely red.

He glanced at the moonlight outside the window, picked up the miniature purification array on the table, and examined it carefully:

【Ultra-miniature purification magic array】

[Rank: Zero Ring]

Pollution level: -0.00001/day

[Evaluation: A low-tier, consumable, portable magic array produced by the Red Moon Tower. It has the effect of purifying pollution and calming the mind.]

The following improvements are recommended.

[Option 1: Upon activation, draw a simple energy-gathering array around the area using energy-gathering runes to absorb the energy of wisdom and fallen crystals...]

"I wonder how much this thing can increase meditation speed."

Ron's only wish right now is to improve his strength as soon as possible, since this time the other side didn't know his true strength and sent someone he could handle.

But if the person behind this insists on killing me, and sends a few mid-level wizard apprentices, the normal kind, right in front of me, then I'll definitely be dead.

"What if I take on a mission and leave the academy for a while? Then I'll come back for the re-examination..."

As I pondered this, I went to bed, ready to begin my meditation for the day.

Just as he began, inside an extremely tall wizard's tower, an old woman with white hair was looking at the enormous crystal ball before her, her eyes flashing with blue light:

"Fate has changed again. What an amazing kid."

This person was none other than Fiona's teacher, the Salin Witch, a powerful fate-related wizard.

Ever since she last met Ron, she had become somewhat curious about this boy whose fate she couldn't even discern.

The reason I didn't talk to him in person was twofold: firstly, because that old devil Felix was nearby, making it inconvenient; and secondly, because I was worried that my words might corrupt the kid and cause him to fall into depravity.

Such a good subject for observation is rare, so she naturally took it to heart.

Actually, Ron's good luck in dodging Lowens's punch was partly due to her interference in his fate.

The boy was unaware of all this.

"Perhaps this time we can try our luck with this kid."

A hoarse, deep voice echoed within the towering wizard's tower, seemingly causing ripples of fate to spread.

Ron sat cross-legged on his bed, feeling the pure spiritual energy continuously transmitted from afar, and was utterly shocked.

"In that case, wouldn't I be..."
