Chapter 200 Testing

Magic, Arcane, Resource —

As the categories on the books appeared before his eyes, Ron was momentarily dazed, unsure of which ones to choose.

Although he had visited the trading post many times before to buy supplies, the trading post was only suitable for freshmen or junior wizard apprentices. Now that he had been promoted to intermediate wizard apprentice and had become a disciple of that cheap teacher, his authority within the academy had naturally increased significantly.

This is reflected in the fact that the goods he can see on the shopping list at the trading post have become more complicated.

He even saw quite a few material spells, some of which were at the level of a first-ring wizard.

You should know that back then he could only see things suitable for apprentices, and the highest level those things were was only for intermediate wizard apprentices.

Now, three months later, the difference between the two is like heaven and earth.

Ron couldn't help but sigh inwardly, realizing that it really does take having strong personal power and the backing of a powerful figure to enjoy the benefits.

He then focused his attention back on the book in his hands, no longer thinking about those random things.

Clicking on the supplies section, countless items appeared before his eyes.

It wasn't that he wasn't interested in witchcraft, but now that he was about to head to an unknown place, he naturally didn't have time to study those profound knowledge. It would be better to exchange the limited resources he had for supplies during the mission, which would be more practical for the future.

Ron's eyes scanned the lines of text on the book, staring at their descriptions, weighing in his mind what he could buy and what he could actually use.

Then he checked several items he liked in the boxes behind it and added them to his shopping list.

Time passed by as he selected items, and Laura behind the counter didn't make a sound to disturb him, just quietly watching the boy choose what he needed.

However, a glint of insight flashed in the woman's eyes that the boy had not noticed.

Luo Yun felt a pair of eyes constantly scanning and scrutinizing him. He knew exactly where the gaze came from, but he had no interest in saying anything more to the other person. He simply quickly glanced at the vegetables in his hand, wanting to get what he needed as soon as possible and leave this place of trouble.

The scene fell silent for a moment, and no one spoke.

When other people passed by, they acted as if they hadn't noticed the two of them and walked straight away from the counter.

This also gave Luo Yun a quiet environment and ample time to choose what he needed.

The sun gradually rose higher, moving from the west to the center of the sky.

Because it was summer, the outside temperature was quite high, and the apprentices who entered the trading area all had more or less sweat on their bodies.

Even though they have embarked on the path of the extraordinary, they are still only at a low level. Apart from having more methods and higher mental strength than ordinary people, they are no different from ordinary people in any other aspect.

Of course, this situation only lasts until the initial apprentice stage. Once one advances to the advanced warrior apprentice stage, one's physical condition will naturally improve due to the increase in mental strength.

At this point, the organs in the body will naturally undergo slight changes.

The sweat glands will naturally be transformed by a higher level of magic, and the excretion of waste will no longer rely on such crude methods.

However, these are all just digressions.

As the apprentices entered the trading area, the impatience on their faces caused by the sweltering heat gradually disappeared. After all, it was a public place of the academy, and naturally, various environmental protection spells were set up around it.

Things like keeping the room dry and maintaining a normal indoor temperature are just the most insignificant effects brought about by these methods.

At that moment, the boy, who had been looking down at the book in his hand, gradually raised his eyes and looked at the woman behind the counter.

The other person was fiddling with her fingers listlessly, as if there was something particularly interesting about them.

The instant she looked up, her eyes seemed to activate infrared senses, gazing directly at Ron's face.

The moment their eyes met in mid-air, Ron felt a surge of heat rising involuntarily from his body.

Then he saw a strange smile appear on the woman's lips. The smile was so charming, dazzling, and moving, as if all the beautiful qualities in the world were contained within her mysterious smile.

Ron felt the strange sensations emanating from his body and the involuntary movements he was making. He quickly lowered his head, not daring to look at the other person any longer.

He was terrified that the woman in front of him might use some kind of trick.

"Little one, you're looking at your older sister like that, have you made your choice?"

Luo Yun nodded, then replied in a deep voice, "Yes, sir, I have made my selections. Please bring all these items to me and calculate the price."

Laura looked at the boy's timid and submissive demeanor, and at the respect in his tone.

His smile grew even brighter. He put down his crossed legs, and his fingers no longer seemed to attract his attention. All his energy was now focused on the boy in front of him.

"In that case, give me that thing, and I'll go look for it for you."

Upon hearing this, Ron quickly handed the book in his hand to the counter, keeping his head down and not daring to look at the woman sitting opposite him.

Laura simply smiled and didn't seem to care about his actions. However, when she reached out to take the book from his hand, her fingertips, painted with bright red nail polish, lightly touched Ron's fingers, a somewhat ambiguous gesture that seemed to be hinting at something to the boy.

Ron felt the touch on his fingers and slightly raised his pale green eyes.

The woman opposite him was still smiling at him as before, and he lowered his eyelids again, pretending that nothing had happened.

Laura, seeing Ron's actions, secretly confirmed her suspicions, and her smile widened even further: "This kid does seem to have something special. What could it be? Could it be the native River of Eternal Slumber? Or perhaps that faint trace of phoenix blood in him?"

The woman kept wondering about the outcome of her earlier probing, while Ron was equally astonished by the information that had flashed before his eyes.
