Chapter 166 A Visit
With a tap of your finger, you can instantly travel to the wonderful world of Chapter 166, "A Visit (Part Two)".
Ron followed the girl through a series of courtyard walls, across long corridors and a lawn the size of a football field, finally arriving at a three-story castle.
"We've arrived. Besides conducting experiments in the wizard's tower, my grandfather usually rests at home, tending to his flowers and plants."
"It seems Mr. Felix has quite a lot of free time."
Ron listened to the girl's description of the wizard Felix's daily life and couldn't help but smile before replying to her.
Upon hearing this, Adele seemed to recall something, and a strange smile suddenly appeared on her face:
"Maybe so. Let's go inside and find him."
The other person's sudden laughter did not escape my notice. Although I did not understand what kind of tricks this little girl was up to, I knew from her ambiguous smile that she was up to no good.
Lorne stood at the castle gate, took a deep breath, and then gently stepped into the bright living room.
Even though Adele's laughter had made him a little uneasy, he knew that she was just joking and wouldn't actually cause Mr. Felix to do anything bad to him.
Given their relationship, how could she not protect her boyfriend?
With this thought in mind, his previously somewhat agitated heart immediately regained its composure, and he calmly walked into the open living room.
Seeing this, Adele, who was standing behind her, had an even brighter smile on her already slightly upturned lips.
She didn't know whether it was the joy of seeing her crush walk into her home for the first time, or the vague excitement of thinking about some happy things that would happen later.
Such a thought only lingered in the girl's mind for a fleeting moment before she followed the boy into her own living room.
Unlike the aristocratic Gothic buildings I'd seen before, Adele's living room didn't have those intricate murals or exquisite furniture; instead, it was simply a wooden structure filled with a natural feel.
The floors, ceilings, walls, sofas, and tables are all made of a vine-like material.
Ron stood quietly at the entrance, admiring the unique scenery. He turned to look at the girl standing beside him and asked in a low voice:
"I didn't expect your home's decorating style to be so unique! Miss Morderson's Jewelry!"
The girl, who had been wearing a faint smile, suddenly had her smile melt away like snow in winter when it met the sunlight after hearing Ron's slightly teasing words.
Her tightly clenched fists seemed to indicate that she wanted to teach the boy next to her a lesson.
However, the girl ultimately resisted the urge:
Sure enough, it was the right choice not to tell this guy beforehand. Otherwise, if he hadn't been taught a lesson, he might have really thought I was afraid of him.
The girl secretly thought to herself that she would definitely teach this annoying guy next to her a lesson he would never forget.
Thinking this to herself, the initial embarrassment and annoyance at the other person's teasing turned into joy, and a bright smile returned to the girl's face. She looked at Ron beside her and said with pride in her voice:
"Of course, don't you know whose house this is? As someone with elven blood, you naturally need to have an appreciation for beauty, otherwise you'll be looked down upon by others."
Ron nodded noncommittally, somewhat disappointed that his words hadn't made the girl angry. Men are sometimes strange like that; they always want to tease the girls they like, regardless of good or evil, it's just a matter of interest.
Finally, the two entered the living room. Ron looked around but couldn't find Mr. Felix, whom he was looking for.
Shifting my gaze to the girl beside me, I saw her shrug her shoulders and spread her hands out in front of her:
"My grandfather was always like this. He would either spend his days tending to his flowers and plants in the castle garden or reading in his study. I have never seen him spend more than a few days in the living room."
Looking at Adele with a hint of helplessness, Ron couldn't help but mutter to himself:
You know he won't stay in the living room, so why are you circling around with me here?
Although he was somewhat puzzled by the girl's mysterious actions, he knew it wasn't the right time to talk about it. He looked at Adele standing in front of him with pleading eyes, and the smile on her face seemed to be telling the boy: If you want to know where the garden or the study is, just ask me.
"Okay, stop joking. I have something very important to discuss with Mr. Felix today. I'll treat you to dinner another day when I'm free, as a way of repaying you for your help today."
Ron clearly realized that the girl was deliberately retaliating against him, and could only helplessly say something to her.
After all, this place is so big that if I were to rely on myself, I don't know how long it would take to find it. Moreover, as the residence of a formal wizard, the house must be full of all kinds of protective magic arrays. If I accidentally violate the triggering mechanism and am mistaken for an intruder, I'll be in big trouble.
He believed that a formal wizard-level being was absolutely capable of manipulating even a lowly apprentice like himself.
Upon hearing the boy's words, a bright smile immediately appeared on the girl's face. She pointed to the leftmost room on the second floor and said:
"Since you're asking so sincerely, I'll tell you. That's the garden inside the castle. My grandfather usually stays there. If you want to find him, go and take a look."
"What about you? Aren't you coming with me?"
Upon hearing this, Adele seemed somewhat puzzled as to why the boy would ask such a simple question:
"I don't want to see him, why would I go with him? Besides, I haven't even settled the score with that old man for locking me up for two months. If I just go running to him so easily, he'll think I'm afraid of him. Don't I have any dignity?"
Upon hearing this somewhat far-fetched explanation, Ron couldn't find any reason to refute it for the time being.
Finally, he could only glance helplessly at the girl who had already sat down on the rattan sofa. Thinking about what he was going to ask Mr. Felix, he could only nod helplessly and walk towards the room the girl pointed to.
