Chapter 147 Adventures in the Dream World
It wasn't that the other person's words were surprising; rather, it was because the woman only said two words, yet those two words made him feel a little suspicious.
"Keep up!"
The woman had warned him earlier that there was danger, but now she was asking him to follow her. Ron had no idea what she was thinking.
He hesitated, unsure whether to follow the other party's advice.
However, this hesitation was only momentary. Considering his current situation, he made a decision.
I have to follow them and see what happens. No matter how dangerous it is, I will eventually have to leave this world.
If you don't know what will happen next, and you're not involved, you can't even figure out how to leave this world.
With this thought in mind, he silently encouraged himself, then mustered all his strength and strode to catch up with the group ahead.
After passing through the tall city walls and entering the city, the scene inside was indeed somewhat different from what he had expected.
There were no towering buildings, no hawkers, not even a trace of life. All that existed was a colossal castle that soared into the clouds, standing there all alone. The surrounding walls didn't seem to protect the castle; rather, they seemed to imprison it within.
"Mr. Matthews, it seems our target is in that castle."
Ron hadn't taken two steps when he encountered Alice and the others who had already entered. As soon as Alice saw him, she immediately went to his side and spoke to him in a solemn tone.
Looking at the isolated, towering castle before him, Ron's ominous premonition grew stronger.
But now is not the time to make contact. He asked the girl in front of him:
"Miss Alice, have you ever seen such a strange castle before? What's the purpose of those tall walls surrounding it?"
Without figuring these things out, Ron naturally wouldn't be able to continue following them.
Although I want to leave this world as soon as possible, the prerequisite for doing so is to ensure my own safety. I can't just risk my life and rush in headlong into danger, can I?
He wasn't like those rough, uncivilized men behind the girl, whose minds seemed like those of primitive men.
To achieve one's goals, it is indeed possible to take some risks, but they must be within one's acceptable range; otherwise, he would never recklessly follow these guys.
Before Alice could even speak after hearing Ron's slightly questioning words, Berent, Caris, and the others behind her couldn't sit still any longer. They all glared fiercely at the guy who dared to disrespect their goddess not far away.
"How dare you, Miss Alice, doubt me?"
"Miss Alice, you just need to listen to her. Why ask so many questions?"
A group of tall, muscular men started talking all at once, their tone full of reprimands towards the boy.
Ron ignored their reactions, even though he knew he might, or rather, he was certain he couldn't defeat the group in front of him.
However, he didn't think he could bring himself to do something so dangerous without considering the consequences.
Even at the risk of being attacked by the crowd, he wanted to find out the specific details of the next steps.
Of course, he wasn't a fool. He dared to ask these questions because he was confident that the girl in front of him would not let those brainless guys behind her attack him.
Sure enough, before the little ones could even utter two words, Alice intervened and stopped them:
"What are you trying to do? Are you going to lay a hand on Mr. Matthews, my guest?"
His tone was serious, and his expression was earnest.
That delicate face now inexplicably carried an air of authority.
Then, seeing that she was really angry, the group of tall men all shut their mouths and dared not continue to speak rudely to Ron, even though they were feeling resentful and still had to listen to Alice.
I don't understand why these guys listen to this girl so much, but since they haven't said anything, there's no need for me to keep arguing with them.
He then looked into the girl's eyes, trying to find the answer he was looking for.
The girl calmly met his gaze and slowly said, "Mr. Matthews, I should have told you before that an evil dragon lives in this castle. In order to protect the peace of this world and so that people can live and work in peace and happiness."
The father of that hero, the former hero, led our ancestors to defeat this dragon. Afterwards, they built a castle for it to live in. The outer walls were naturally there to prevent this evil dragon from one day going berserk and harming everyone.
After listening to the girl's explanation, Ron nodded slightly.
He could naturally tell that there were many illogical points in Alice's words, but since he had a general idea and the Moon Lady next to him hadn't given him any indication, it seemed that this matter probably wouldn't have any impact on the subsequent actions.
Since that was the case, he didn't intend to ask any more questions; knowing the underlying reasons was enough.
Ron had a premonition that if everything went smoothly from here on out, he would soon be able to find a way to leave this world and return to the academy.
So he lost interest in asking any further questions. Leaving this place was his primary goal, and everything else was just fluff.
Seeing that he had no more doubts, Alice said no more and pointed to the castle in front of her:
"Launch a righteous charge!"
Upon hearing this, Ron's lips twitched, not understanding why the girl kept saying things that pulled him out of the story.
Unlike Ron, the others, upon hearing the girl's words, charged forward in the direction she was pointing, their faces filled with fervor.
Although everyone walks on their own two feet, these rough men managed to make it feel like they had four legs while running on two.
Puffs of dust billowed across the land. Ron watched the crowd rushing towards the castle and couldn't help but sigh inwardly:
These physical attributes are definitely not just for show.
Those footprints, some deep and some shallow, were proof of the monstrous bodies of these guys.
He secretly compared himself to these people and soon realized that he couldn't even beat any one of them.
