Naruto: I'm really not an evil scientist!
Chapter 6: Falling for a Woman
"Very good, I think Minato is perfectly suited for the position of Hokage!" Hiruko said with a smile.
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded in satisfaction.
Hiruko made outstanding contributions in the Third Shinobi World War, even stealing much of Minato's limelight. Having him support Minato was the best thing ever.
After the meeting, as usual, Tsunade pulled a large wad of cash from Hiruko's pocket and then excitedly headed to the casino.
"Put it on my tab!" Tsunade waved her hand dismissively and turned to leave.
"Well, Hiruko, you have such a good temper!" Jiraiya's eyes flickered, and he couldn't help but say.
"Whatever, I'm not short of money anyway!"
Seemingly realizing that Hiruko had noticed his little scheme, Jiraiya, a little embarrassed, touched his nose, laughed heartily, and quickly left.
Hiruko and Orochimaru then walked together toward the laboratory.
However, Orochimaru followed Hiruko with a gloomy expression.
"What's wrong? Are you upset?" Hiruko noticed Orochimaru's gloomy expression and asked directly.
"Hmph, the position of Hokage means nothing to me." Orochimaru's voice was hoarse and sounded particularly harsh.
Hiruko wore a strange smile and said, "Is that so?"
Hiruko didn't believe that Orochimaru was truly unmoved.
After all, Orochimaru had aspired to become Hokage since childhood, so he was definitely unhappy with the Third Hokage's decision.
Whether Orochimaru wants to become Hokage is one thing, whether he gives it to him or not is another.
"For us who pursue immortality, the fame and fortune that ordinary people spend their entire lives pursuing are meaningless and worthless in our eyes."
Orochimaru said in a hoarse, sinister voice.
He was indeed a little annoyed, but that was all.
He wasn't as obsessed with the Hokage position as Danzo.
Upon arriving at the laboratory, Hiruko handed Orochimaru the data that had been prepared beforehand.
Orochimaru smiled and then prepared to leave.
Hiru called out to him, asking, "When do you plan to leave?"
Orochimaru's desire to leave Konoha had been lingering in his heart for a long time.
Because of the various entanglements between Danzo and the Third Hokage, Orochimaru had almost completely plundered Konoha's valuable resources.
Staying in Konoha would not be of much benefit to him; it would be better for him to go out and find some suitable materials.
Orochimaru turned his gaze to Hiruko, and then slowly said, "There are still a few experiments to go. After collecting the data, I should leave in a few days."
Orochimaru didn't think much of Hiruko's apparent desire to leave.
He knew that Hiruko was not entirely loyal to Konoha, and like himself, was someone who was only loyal to his own pursuits.
Humans have always had a clear distinction between close and distant relationships.
Although he had collaborated on many projects with Hiruko, a scientist similar to himself, the two got along quite well as experimental partners.
They could even be described as kindred spirits, and were good friends.
However, compared to his childhood friends Tsunade, Jiraiya, and the Third Hokage, they clearly held a greater place in Orochimaru's heart.
When Orochimaru later attempted to assassinate the Third Hokage, it was merely to give his master a dignified exit.
Instead of letting him cowardly and shamelessly occupy the position of Hokage and live a life of mere survival.
"Would you like to leave with me?" Orochimaru tentatively extended an invitation, his slender tongue gently protruding and slowly licking the air, as if savoring an unknown temptation.
"The world of Konoha is ultimately too small, and the Third Hokage is too conservative; they simply cannot support our grand ambitions."
Why not come with me and explore a wider world?
To realize one's dreams, one needs not only great strength, but also many talented partners.
Hiruko was undoubtedly an excellent research partner for Orochimaru.
Moreover, the two shared the same ideals and both longed to explore the secrets of immortality.
At this moment, Orochimaru had already cast aside all those so-called comrades he once knew.
He was full of ideas on how to win over Beiliuhu and embark on an unknown journey together.
Hiruko shook his head, a smile playing on his lips, and said, "I can't bear to part with those beauties of Konoha. That Danzo guy was even planning to give me that walking priestess!"
"Heh, Danzo certainly knows how to please you." Orochimaru glanced at Hiruko and said nothing more.
My research partner is excellent in every way, except that he is too lecherous.
He's imprisoning the Scorching Release user Yekura at home, while outside he's madly pursuing Tsunade, and now he's set his sights on that walking shrine maiden. If things continue like this, he'll eventually fall for a woman's belly.
"I have mastered 99% of Konoha's forbidden techniques. Don't you want to find out more?"
I can share with you the forbidden techniques from the Book of Seals, and even all the technology I possess can be given to you.
Orochimaru stared intently at Hiruko, trying to sway him with these tempting offers.
As a disciple of the Third Hokage, Orochimaru was always extremely eloquent and persuasive. At this moment, he was thinking about how to win people over first.
As for the promised benefits, whether or not they will be given, and when they will be given, are matters for the future.
Although Hiruko was exceptionally talented, he was not a direct disciple of the Third Hokage, so he rarely had the opportunity to access the forbidden techniques on the Scroll of Seals.
Most of the skills he now possesses were given to him by that old man Danzo in an attempt to win him over.
According to Orochimaru, although Hiruko made great contributions to Konoha, the Third Hokage only taught him the Shuraken Shadow Clone Technique, which he created, and the rather useless Multiple Shadow Clone Technique from the Scroll of Seals.
While the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique is reasonably effective, it places an excessive burden on the body.
Hiruko's talent wasn't exactly top-tier, so this burden was even heavier for him. The Multiple Shadow Clone Technique was practically useless to him.
Hiruko shook his head again and said, "No, I have no plans to leave Konoha for the time being, after all, I've lived here for decades."
The forbidden techniques Orochimaru mentioned were indeed very tempting. Hiruko also wanted to have the opportunity to see all the forbidden techniques in the Book of Seals, hoping to gain new inspiration from them.
However, Hiruko's desire for the Book of Seals was not particularly strong.
Techniques are ultimately just techniques, not the ultimate truth.
Hiruko sought to become the master of magic, rather than merely being obsessed with magic itself.
It won't be difficult to obtain those techniques from Danzo through trade in the future.
"Heh heh, what you did wasn't foolproof!" Orochimaru looked at him with a half-smile. Hiruko had imprisoned more than just Scorching Release: Pakura.
