Chapter 54 The territory is likely headed for decline.

Celia sat at the table, recalling everything that had just happened.

She was prepared to be disliked by her master before revealing the secret she had kept hidden in her heart for so long.

Cleopatra still refused.

Is there something wrong with what she said?

Celia believed she was truly sincere this time.

She was so bewildered that she didn't even notice Luo An coming out of the room.

"Celia, go in and heal Linor later. You don't need to talk to her this time."

Luo An could tell she was feeling down, so he stroked her hair to ease her emotions.

He turned to look at Elena.

"If Linor is still stressed, then forget it. Elena, go and change her dressing."

Elena nodded quickly.

Celia looked at her master beside her, a hint of unease in her eyes.

"Master, will you hate me now that you know what I just said and my selfish thoughts?"

She was terrified.

She feared that her despicable thought would make her master think she was a dark-hearted elf.

"People are selfish."

"You're not gloating over Linor's rough treatment, but rather relieved that it wasn't you, and that's not wrong."

Luo An shook his head and continued stroking his long, silvery-white hair.

Celia's mind is truly simple, to be troubled by this problem.

"There's nothing wrong with thinking about yourself first and then about others."

"Don't overthink it, okay?"

These words melted away all the unease in Celia's heart.

It turns out that having despicable thoughts is acceptable.

It's so wonderful that my owner is willing to tolerate my flaws.

Celia kept her master's words in mind.

Trust level +5%

"I understand, Master."

Celia nodded vigorously, wiping away the tears that had fallen from her eyes due to worry.

"I won't say anything this time."

She realized that speaking might upset Linor, so she remained silent.

Celia and Elena entered the room where Linor was.

"I'm so sleepy."

Seeing the two leave, Luo An yawned.

Yesterday was filled with dealing with goblin attacks and searching for tribes; I didn't sleep a wink.

After returning and dealing with this matter, Luo An was exhausted both physically and mentally.

He took a shower, and the moment he got into bed, drowsiness overcame him, and he quickly fell asleep.

......

Night fell over the sky.

Inside the reception room of the lord's manor.

Brian sat in the main seat, listening to the reports from the three guards.

The news of the monster attack and Levins's capture darkened his expression.

"Thank you for your hard work. Go and rest now. I will handle this."

As he watched the three guards leave, Brian fell into deep thought.

Since returning that day, he has not allowed his slaves to guide the monsters to attack the farm.

How can there still be monster attacks?

Could it be that this monster attack really happened naturally?

By doing so many of these things, Brian almost ruled out the possibility of spontaneous monster attacks.

And then there's Levins, that foolish son who still sneaked out.

If his subordinates hadn't told him, he really wouldn't have known.

Now they've been captured by monsters again.

Rosalie.

From the shadows, a figure emerged and prostrated itself on the ground.

"I'm asking you, I didn't order an attack on the farm, did I?"

Brian had to ask her to confirm.

"Reporting to Master, you certainly did not issue such an order."

Rosa's body was trembling violently.

Brian nodded, but the thought of that good-for-nothing Levins made him very irritated.

"Go to the forest now and see if you can find any trace of Levins."

Although the farmers have taken action, the Loran Great Forest is vast and boundless, making it no easy task to find Levins within it.

Orcs have a keen sense of smell, which greatly increases their chances of finding it.

Brian added a warning: "If anything goes wrong this time, it won't be as simple as stirring with a stick like last time."

"Master, I promise I won't make any more mistakes."

Rosalie remembered the punishment she received last time, the rabbit ears stuck to her head, and tears almost fell.

She never wanted to experience that tearing pain, that unstoppable bleeding.

"Go."

Rosalie only dared to get up and leave the hall with her head down, as if fleeing, after Brian impatiently waved her away.

Brian began to read the official documents.

The night is getting darker.

Hurried footsteps could be heard outside the hall.

"My lord, former captain of the guard, Stevin, has urgent business to discuss with us."

A guard standing at the door hurriedly said, "He said he has something extremely urgent to report to you."

Brian frowned and stopped flipping through the documents.

According to the returning guards, Stevin went into the forest to look for Levins.

Does his arrival mean something has happened to Levins?

"Let him in."

A burly man strode in, his face showing anxiety.

"Greetings, Your Lordship!"

Stevin gave a standard military salute.

"My lord, a large goblin tribe has been discovered in the forest..."

He recounted everything he saw after entering the forest.

Brian's gaze paused for a moment when he heard that Levins had been beheaded by a goblin.

He slowly leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

There is sadness, after all, he is my own flesh and blood, the son I watched grow up.

But then I remembered the guards' report.

Brian was very disappointed when Levens, while on the farm, made outrageous remarks in order to seize a slave, showing no mercy whatsoever that a future lord should have.

"At this age, it's too late to correct a bad temper."

Brian muttered to himself, as if trying to convince himself.

At Levins' age, he was already in charge of various matters within the territory. He was kind and fair, and was deeply loved by the people.

If the territory were truly handed over to Levins, given his temperament, it would likely decline.

"Steven, thank you for going into the forest to find my good-for-nothing son."

Brian was heartbroken, but he still had his third son.

He's still young, so we can put in the effort to nurture him properly.

The more pressing issue now is the problem of that large monster tribe.

Tens of thousands of goblins, that's no small number.

If his territory were attacked, countless people would be displaced.

"The Gordon family's son also died at the hands of goblins. Are you sure this news is true?"

Brian checked again.

"My lord, I'm sure."

"Stevin said very seriously."

Brian nodded, considering the news a stroke of good luck amidst misfortune.

Eradicating monsters is what a border lord should do.

This goblin tribe was near his territory, so logically he shouldn't be under the jurisdiction of other territories.

But with Gordon's son dead, a union could be attempted.

"Stevan, your news is timely."

Brian looked out the window at the night sky.

"A goblin tribe of this size would suffer heavy losses if wiped out by a single territory, but it would be much better if two territories joined forces."

He walked up to Stevin and patted him on the shoulder.

"Steven, we'll need you to lead the way once the guards arrive."

Stevin stood ramrod straight.

"It is my duty to serve the lord."

Brian chuckled and waved at him.

"One's duty is one's duty, and a reward is a reward."

"When you leave, go to the steward and collect 10 gold coins."

Stevin immediately knelt down on one knee.

"Thank you for your generous reward, my lord!"

Brian quickly helped him up.

"No need for such formalities."

"It's getting late, and you must be tired after traveling all day."

"We'll stay at the manor tonight, get some rest, and return to the farm tomorrow."

Brian immediately summoned the guards standing at the door.

"Take Steven to the guest room to rest."
