Dark Eldar

94. Beginner Priest Tutorial

The vast territory of Yundar, Fredo Castle (neutral). Elisa sometimes goes out of town early the next morning after finishing her farm work. She hires a carriage for only 0.2 Yun coins. She still has plenty of the money Loki gave her. Besides buying medicine for her mother, Elisa also bought some clothes for her father. Elisa decides to use the remaining 20-odd Yun coins to complete her "studies" (Elementary Priest Course).

The dwarf coachman drove the carriage at breakneck speed, whistling occasionally. Coachmen in small towns weren't very busy; almost no one rode in. Occasionally, if an old lady couldn't walk anymore, he would give her a free ride, without charging a penny.

The guards at the gate, seeing the beautiful Elisa leaving the city with their cousin, Uncle Mike the coachman, naturally let them pass with utmost respect. These two are currently level 2, with intelligence of 22 and 21 respectively. Their intelligence has not increased further. (If they reach level 3, they will likely abandon the "gatekeeper" profession and switch to bounty hunting or thieves; however, this is uncertain.)

Mike's carriage moved quite fast. They arrived at Demar Farm before noon.

"Good luck, young lady, Elisa!" the coachman Mike said, waving goodbye to Elisa.

"Uncle Demacia, I'm here! Please open the door!"

The door was unlocked, and Elisa pushed open the fence and quietly walked in.

She usually sees Uncle Demar at the door. Uncle Demar will also greet her. Usually, it's, "Hello, Alyssa?" or "How was your day?"

But today, Uncle Demar wasn't chopping wood at the door. Elisa put down the fresh fruits and vegetables ("tuition fee") and decided to go directly to her master, "Sister Elaine."

"Teacher? Teacher, are you there?" Elisa asked politely. She didn't dare to speak too loudly, afraid of disturbing her master's alchemy experiment. That was quite dangerous! High Priest Elaine had instructed her, "Don't touch the colored liquid on the table."

Elisa sat on the sofa, trying to wait patiently for her teacher to come out and greet her. But after waiting for a while, she still didn't see her teacher. The room was cold. "Achoo!" Elisa shivered.

"Strange? There are usually people here every day. Teacher Elaine said I can come to study anytime. Could it be? They moved?" Elisa muttered to herself as she got up. She lifted the curtain and went into the teacher's room to see what was going on.

Elaine's bedroom was empty, and Elisa couldn't enter the laboratory at the end of the secret passage. Elisa knocked hard on the wall ("disguised," the laboratory door), but there was still no response.

These past few days, Elisa has been visiting 3-4 times a month according to her own schedule. Today is her second visit this month. She wants to demonstrate her "Restore" (level 5) to Elaine again to see if she can learn "Shield" (Power Word: Shield, commonly known as: Eggshell, a common priest skill).

"Should I keep waiting? Or go back?" Elisa was torn. If she walked back, she would encounter wild beasts and "alien creatures" (advanced nomadic beings) after dark.

Elisa decided to sleep on the living room sofa for the night and stay overnight. She would go home the next morning.

Late at night, Elisa was feeling quite hungry. She went to check the kitchen and saw that Demar had cleaned it thoroughly, leaving no extra food. There were two clean potatoes in the basket that needed to be processed before eating.

"How about I eat an apple first?" Elisa thought of eating what she had brought, but she resisted the urge. She didn't want to do that. After all, it was a "gift" she had given to her sister.

Elisa fell asleep in a state of mild hunger. She had a dream that night. She dreamt that she was on a battlefield, healing Loki.

"Brother Loki, hang in there! I'll remove the poison from your body!" Elisa waved her purple staff, looking every bit the high priest.

Many unfamiliar warriors were also begging Elisa to heal them. Elisa was in a dilemma, "Who should I heal first? Some of the warriors look like they're on the verge of death."

"Ignore them, just keep adding to my supply!" Loki shouted, turning his head.

"If I fall, we're all finished!"

Elisa was flustered and about to cast a spell when she realized she was running out of mana...

"ah!--"

"Thump!" Loki collapsed to the ground!

. . . . . .

In the early morning, Elisa woke up. Elaine and Demar returned, and they were deeply moved when they saw that Elisa had gone hungry rather than eat the fresh food they had brought. (Unopened)

"Poor child! You must be starving!" Uncle Demar asked kindly.

"Here, let me cook you a steak. The beef in the cellar was marinated by me before I left..."
