Dark Eldar

67 The Terrifying Akarin & Agni

Everyone was quite surprised to see Edward III following behind the Cyclops.

Nami, the intermediate-level priest, was puzzled: "I didn't expect there to be a test like this? Isn't it all about fighting monsters and acquiring treasures?"

Benjamin exclaimed excitedly, "Brother Edward, did you pass? We're getting ready to hunt down the 'Terrifying Akarin'!" (The guardian of the Hell Rift, who has a twin sister named Agniesz).

"Don't be naive! You think you can do this?" the Cyclops laughed. He knew all too well just how monstrous the "siblings" were!

"Just lead the way. You want to get out, don't you? I'll show you my true strength later!" Edward III said.

Seeing this, the others understood that Edward would go all out this time, so they said no more. They would simply cooperate; as for whether there were any extra "slots" for high-ranking mages? That was a matter for later. ("Pragmatism"; the exam was fair to every student.)

"Lead the way, Kiklops!" Edward said.

"Alright, I'll trust you one more time!" The Cyclops continued running into the cave.

Along the way, tens of thousands of "Hellhounds," "Skeleton Soldiers," and "Molten Insect Elites" became "neutral" when they saw the Cyclops causing trouble again. They were usually beaten up.

Six mid-level "Otherworldly" heroes followed closely behind, saving Nami the trouble of clearing out monsters. Nami was a little scared. "There were so many monsters lurking inside!" Despite her fear, she seemed to see "hope"!

As they neared the end, the cave passage widened. The whispers of the monsters vanished, replaced by an eerie silence! Everyone grew increasingly tense, their breathing rapid.

A gust of cold wind blew in. I couldn't open my eyes! I couldn't quite describe the feeling—a sense of helplessness, oppression, and despair...

"Foolish Kiklops? Here you go again? You're helping insects again?? You're a disgrace to the demigods!" The terrifying Akarin's laughter was filled with intense sarcasm.

The exit from the other side of the mirror world—the "Rift"!—was right behind him. Akarin's height was no different from that of an ordinary person. There were no records of him or Agni in the other world (fearing they would become "coordinates"). Humans, elves, and even dark creatures—almost no one had ever visited this place (too much mana!!). Inside the cave, endless "hellhounds" and "skeleton guards" all made way out of respect for the Cyclops...

Ordinary monsters, especially the elite monsters in Hell, are no less intelligent than the "Ancient Ones." They've long been fed up with the daily shrieks (endless taunts) of "Terrifying Agni"! Seeing the menacing "Kykrops" squad, they felt the situation was about to change hands. For these swarms of mirror-image monsters, death was commonplace. Plus, they were frequently and readily "crushed to death," "resurrected," "crushed to death again," and "resurrected again" by the Cyclops! Nobody likes fighting giants...

The terrifying "Akarin's" taunt had worked, and the Cyclops was so angry he was "gritting his teeth"! He was about to "go all out" again.

Just then!

"I'll deal with you! Let your sister come out too. I know she's hiding in the shadows." Edward III stepped forward alone, preparing to unleash "time magic"!

"Interesting!" The older sister, Agnie, appeared. Her terrifying appearance was indescribable... "It's been a long time since I've seen a 'lively' human..."

Before "Terrifying Agnieszka" could finish her rambling, Edward III cast a spell: "Let all this return to peace! Araniqiel!" He was trying to gain the upper hand. He wasn't interested in the siblings' "arguments"... After all, they were fearless even in the face of death.

Just like in the previous battle, the demigods have a certain degree of "immunity" to "time magic".

Edward III was also testing the waters; he didn't want to unleash his ultimate move right away! After all, his fate hinged on this one move... (A desperate gamble; many have stumbled at this juncture, including Nami, though she was unaware of it.)

The others weren't idle either. Seeing that they were about to be marked by the "Terrifying Akarin," they quickly unleashed their "skills" to try and take it down in one fell swoop! (Coordination)

"Arcane Missile!" Benjamin attacks first! Next, Wolverine John charges in for close combat! "Claws bared," he barely dares to "open his eyes" while "blocking"! His sister, "Terrifying Agnieszka," is indeed very "disgusting"... (Her striking appearance... Legend has it she was once Satan's mistress. Discovered while stealing the artifact "Scythe of Sin," she was subjected to hellish torture, resulting in "disfigurement.")

The Cyclops had been itching for revenge! He'd been toyed with by the siblings countless times. The time for revenge had come!!

The shaman "Ster" is far more effective in a party than he is solo! He's a formidable character! He secretly buffed everyone with "spell vamp" (level 55). Just now, while they were talking, he was secretly observing them. He concluded from their physique, tone of voice, and other factors that they were undoubtedly dealing magic damage!

The priest's "spell vamp" is essentially a "high-level tank"! (Returns damage)

The priestess Nami is doing everything in her power to protect the tank "Wolverine"!

In an instant! "Clang!" "A kaleidoscope of colors!" (The damage dealt by each skill is a different color; for example, Arcane Missiles is milky white.)

The "terrifying hellish siblings" were inexplicably "beaten up"...
