Dark Eldar

5. Dach's Troubles

After the Dark Messenger Dark appeared, the rebel leader Ludar made a hasty retreat, not wanting to be cannon fodder again.

Edward III could certainly have frozen time. But he didn't. Even though his explanation sounds so weak—as if he were truly jealous of Loki's talent, status, or even fate...

Loki stopped complaining about Edward. "Making unreasonable demands" was not Loki's style.

Loki, who had been imprisoned, slowly closed his eyes, trying to deeply understand the origin of Dark's magic.

"Original Sin! Indeed! This inexhaustible energy surrounding me can traverse space! The spell originates from the edge of dark power..." Unable to move, Loki tried to break free with brute force, but to no avail.

"Let's try a different space!" Loki didn't want to sit idly by and wait to die.

"Loki! Loki! Great Loki!" was the cry of his former people.

Loki chose not to listen. "Those are all insincere cries—emperor, Your Majesty, long live the emperor! They just want something..."

Fog has risen over the "other world"...

Edward III couldn't bear to watch any longer and silently left. He had long wanted to confront Dark, the Dark One.

"As everyone knows, the rebels are nothing but a rabble. Without the backing of the Dark Mage, they would be utterly helpless. To leave the barrier and allow one's soul to be imprisoned by the Dark Messenger? That takes courage! If I really froze time? Loki might actually be angry with me afterwards... He would say, 'I could have handled it! Who told you to...'" Edward III speculated.

"What good is insight? No one can truly know everything another person is thinking, let alone the clever Edward! Any thought he has is just one among many, some kind, some... and some... that he doesn't want to tell anyone..."

Loki was busy.

Unexpectedly, Loki, deep in the abyss, was still pondering what had just happened...

"How do I break this?" Loki muttered to himself. He was stumped.

Dark Knight also went into hiding, concealing himself in a corner of light or darkness, quietly observing the trapped Loki.

At this very moment! Dark still dared not strike with full force; deep down, Dark was still very afraid of Loki. Because? Because Loki's great legends, his great deeds, his near-death experiences and miraculous comebacks were simply too numerous and too eerie.

Dark, the Dark Messenger, has a ferocious appearance; he is not human at all! In this other world, Dark is said to be omnipotent, but compared to Loki, Dark feels: "I am like a tiny spider that has caught a sleeping beast in its web."

"On the surface, I have indeed won! But I'm angry! Why? Why couldn't I kill him right away! Am I going to lose again?" Dark muttered to himself, his emotions fluctuating wildly and feeling very unbalanced!

"It's best to be cautious. Compared to others, I'm still just a weak insect. When that beast awakens, I'll be crushed to death, leaving no trace!" Dark was very clever; he had evolved and was no longer as reckless as his predecessors, the Dark Messengers. They were Lomos, Yodelnik, and Wander, a formidable opponent, but unfortunately, they all fell to Loki.

Loki knew Dark was afraid of him, but he hadn't expected him to be this afraid. Even though Dark had won this time, he was still behaving like a loser.

"Dark, is that the Heimer element?" Loki had just sensed something!

"What? How did you know?" Dark appeared, looking even angrier than before.

"A small part of my memories have been erased by your magic. Please give them back to me." Loki didn't want to deal with this young Dark Messenger yet. After all, most of his power wasn't here, but in the distant world of Yundar.

Dark didn't answer, nor did he dare to respond. He was truly too young. The age of a different kind of life form couldn't be determined by its appearance. At his level, he couldn't possess someone else's memories, much less return unintentionally erased memories to Loki...
