Dark Eldar

472 Effective throwing range: 15 yards

The elves have always kept their promises, so Loki wasn't afraid that Archer Village would cheat him out of his money and run away. That night, Loki slept soundly. He had a dream in which he and Elaine paid tuition to go to Archer Village to learn throwing, as well as ranged skills like bows, crossbows, and firearms. Unfortunately, Elaine had already gone to study to become a priest, so Loki had to face reality and embark on his own "path."

At dawn, flocks of pigeons flew around Leijincheng Square (131, 220).

Loki got up early, had breakfast, and went to the square to check the bulletin board for any new messages. After all, his trip to Archer Village was a rather unusual undertaking; although it wasn't illegal, he was still a little apprehensive. (Not a main quest, not a side quest)

The bulletin board list, aside from the administrator's usual updates of a few daily bounty missions (which could be claimed), contained no other news or major events. Loki, relieved, left the city.

He activated sprint mode (Numlock key) and headed straight for Archer Village (131, 350).

At the village entrance, the human uncle receptionist from Archer Village (level 41, profession: none) wore a joyful expression, as if he were seeing an old friend he hadn't seen for many years.

"Young man, you've arrived! You are a friend of our Archer Village forever! Our elf teacher has been waiting for you at the shrine for a long time."

"Uncle, you look great today!" Loki was a little embarrassed by the comment, so he could only respond in the tone of an NPC from another world.

"You're so young, yet you're so eloquent. Your future is definitely limitless!" the uncle continued to praise.

"Well, Uncle, I'm going to class now! We can chat again another time." Loki bid farewell to the uncle politely and walked towards the village alone.

Outside the shrine in Archer Village, an unnamed elf archer (level 203, class: hunter) was waiting at the shrine entrance early in the morning.

"Good morning, Loki. No rush, it's still early. I'm just used to waking up early. I've never been a good sleeper, sigh~ staying up late is such a bad habit," the nameless elf archer said softly.

"You can sign in now. There are 12 spaces, corresponding to your 12 lessons. Don't worry, I'm confident I can teach you well. My AOE skills aren't just for show; they're built up little by little. Without strong physical strength and power, willpower alone won't work," the nameless elf archer teacher muttered to himself. He seemed to have been away from teaching for a long time, perhaps trying to find his footing? Or perhaps he was already quite adept, able to casually spout many useful theories.

"Teacher, I've signed in. Where will we study later?" Loki asked.

"Loki, let's practice here. We'll start with the simple ones, stationary targets, and then move on to moving targets. What do you think?" the nameless elf archer instructor asked.

"Yes, teacher, I'll listen to you!" Loki replied. He knew that the nameless elf teacher in front of him was a lone hero of the elven race who had made a mistake and might have deliberately not wanted others to know his history, so his name was Nameless Elf. Loki didn't feel comfortable asking about his family or surname.

"Okay, let's begin, Loki. Listen carefully, after all, this is a paid course. You don't want your 12 gold coins to go down the drain, do you?" The nameless elf archer teacher said this deliberately to stimulate Loki's focus.

"No." Loki shook his head.

"Haha, I knew you'd appreciate my class. I'm not just going to teach you anything random. You need to learn based on understanding."

"The nameless elf archer teacher likes to liven up the atmosphere before class, and he seems to enjoy it quite a bit."

"Lesson One: Effective Range," the nameless elf teacher said methodically, even writing it on the ground. (Common language, easy to write)

"Loki, what do you consider to be effective range?" the nameless elf teacher asked.

Loki thought to himself, "This kind of problem shouldn't be difficult. The effective range of a throw is usually 15 yards. (ˉ▽ ̄~) Pshaw~~ What's so hard about it?"

"15 yards!" Loki replied directly.

"NO! I told you to focus and just answer the questions. You only have 15 yards, so why can some heroes hit 20 yards or even 30 yards? Have you ever thought about that?" the nameless elf teacher asked anxiously.

Loki thought it must be: "Strong, right? In other words, powerful?"

"It's power!" Loki replied.

"What about agility? Is agility related to effective range?" the nameless elf archer countered.

Loki originally trained as a mage in his alternate world, and later also trained as a physical damage dealer. However, he seems to have overlooked the relationship between agility and effective attack range. But such basic attribute issues shouldn't be difficult for him.

"It's about precision. The higher the agility, the more precise the accuracy," Loki continued in his reply.

"Loki! If you remain so rigid, your accuracy will never achieve the subtle connection with your effective range. Often, the greater the force, the worse your accuracy becomes. That's why the effective range for throwing is generally 15 yards. If you want to exceed 15 yards and reach a distance like mine, gold coins alone (implying tuition) are far from enough. Even if you gave me all the money in your backpack, it wouldn't be enough. I'm just guiding you into advanced concepts. As for how well you understand them? That depends on your learning ability. Do you understand?" the nameless elf archer asked earnestly.

"Understood, teacher. I understand, and I will definitely try my best." Loki nodded, expressing his admiration.

"Alright, listen carefully! What I'm about to say is something I've learned over the years. The reason I charge high fees is because I want to filter out most of the mediocre heroes. They pay 3000G, and I only teach them the relationship between precision and agility, not the more fundamental stuff. Understand?"

The nameless elven archer spoke rapidly, continuing, "Loki, if you want to throw far and accurately, you need to learn—to be lazy! To save effort! Yes! It's about using momentum, what you call skill, clever technique, understand? I can't say more, for fear of getting my account banned, you try it!!"

"A clever trick? I think I get it..." Loki repeated.

"Shh! Don't tell anyone, and don't say it on public channels! Just this one sentence is worth it!! Only those with insight can understand it. If everyone knows it, the skill you paid for won't be as powerful. Understand?" the nameless elf teacher whispered a warning.

"Hmm~ I understand, teacher. Thank you, teacher~~" Loki nodded quickly to express his gratitude. He felt that the money was well spent, and as he spoke, he picked up a pebble used for teaching on the ground, flicked it, and with only 1% of his strength, aimed at the bottle. With a snap, the bottle was sent flying by Loki's pebble!

Loki found it interesting and continued practicing.

Not far away, the nameless elf teacher silently observed, offering no comment or correction. The teacher simply smiled knowingly, deftly donned his helmet, used Blink (D or F key), and vanished without a trace.
