Dark Eldar
459 Trade Items Inventory
The next chapter is even more exciting: 459 The Trading Items Inventory awaits your visit.
The other world is sacred because we live in it. If one day we were no longer in the main map of this other world, I have reason to believe it would become even more sacred, or even more ordinary. —Nameless Commandment of Another World (165111.15613314)
The next morning, Loki woke up early and left the hotel, wanting to explore Regin Town, familiarize himself with the surroundings, and see how it differed from the other world.
He didn't call Elaine. He knew that Elaine might have been mentally exhausted from playing the hotel's pay-to-play game (note: gambling; officially and legally operated) for the first time last night. In addition, she had been busy leveling up these past few days, fighting monsters and avoiding harassment from other players. For various reasons, he wanted his sister Elaine to catch up on her sleep and get some rest.
Elaine was sleeping soundly at the officially operated Megal Hotel (a three-star hotel); she was so tired she was still asleep. Unlike Loki, she wasn't as alert, always on edge, as if a crisis was lurking everywhere.
"Come and buy! Come and see! All are high-quality equipment around level 30!" (Shout in the public channel to the surrounding area, the effect is the same as shouting in the public channel)
"Big brother, don't hesitate, I beg you to take a look, I'm truly willing to help..." (Shout in the public channel, to the surrounding area, the effect is the same as /yell)
The street was bustling with activity. There were food vendors and various NPCs selling delicious treats and fun items. The vendors hawking equipment were mostly human heroes. Since the area was a human starting village, most of the newbie heroes I'd seen so far, including the higher-level ones, were human. Loki hadn't yet encountered any heroes of other rarer races, such as elves, orcs, or even the "Dark Eldar."
"Maybe it's because the Classic server has just started its open beta; there probably aren't many players above level 50 yet," Loki thought. He was guessing based on the original alternate world's model. In the beginning, leveling up in the alternate world was extremely difficult, with low experience points and a hard time leveling up! In the early days, anyone above level 100 could become an elder. Later, with the occurrence of major events and several epic wars, version 2.0 was introduced, with a level cap of 500. However, the Classic server must have some reservations; otherwise, it wouldn't have set such a high entry threshold, requiring a large donation of metal resources to be allowed to log in to the "Classic Server," and it's a "free world server" fully open to multiple worlds.
Since Loki doesn't have a mount and wears the standard equipment issued by the starting village, he doesn't have many attractive features besides looking cool, making him just like any other leveling player.
Along the way, the other young heroes—some serious, some chatting and laughing, some even speaking in dialects—Loki could vaguely understand, but he wasn't quite sure where they came from. Back in his alternate world, Loki had taken courses specifically to learn the languages of other maps in various worlds, including level two maps, higher-level maps, and even the languages of monsters. Most of the time, Loki relied on intonation to analyze what the other person was trying to express.
Loki squeezed in with the other human heroes, browsing the wares sold by the heroes at their street stalls. Among them was a young human mage named "Bill1988" (level 33), who had some really good stuff among his equipment!
"Pure Refined Iron Samurai Sword (+7, Level 20; Blue; Strength +77, Bind on Equip)" Bill1988 had six or seven pieces of equipment for sale at his stall. The other equipment in his trade inventory was quite ordinary, but this samurai sword was rather interesting.
"Wow, a +7 samurai sword, how did he do that??" a human onlooker asked with wide eyes (class unknown; level 22).
"Yeah, that's amazing... It's unbelievable! The highest I've ever seen is +5. Why doesn't he put it on the auction house? Oh right, you can only trade on the auction house if you're level 45." A beautiful and intelligent female priest (level 30) said.
Loki wanted to buy it, but he was afraid that others would know he was rich, so he decided to keep a low profile and wait until he saw a +9 piece of equipment before quietly acquiring it.
When he was squeezing in to watch the heroes selling equipment, he overheard them saying that you had to be level 45 to trade equipment and other resources at the auction house, and he roughly guessed the reason...
Loki then left the bustling area, intending to return to the hotel to check if Elaine had woken up. He also didn't plan to eat out for local specialties. His backpack contained daily meal vouchers from the hotel (already paid; meals included in the room rate). Although the variety might not be as extensive as eating out, Loki didn't want to change his tastes. He quite liked the hotel's buffet style and upscale dining environment; most importantly, he was afraid of wasting food.
"Eleanor, are you awake? Let's go upstairs to the second floor for breakfast?" (Team chat; blue text)
Loki didn't knock on the door; he was afraid Elaine was still resting. He simply sent a message to the team.
"So sleepy~~ Loki, um, I'm awake. I stayed up late playing last night. Okay, I'll get up now, see you at the restaurant~" Elaine was actually half awake, in a light sleep. She woke up after hearing the vibration alert she had set, glanced at the screen lazily, and replied to Loki.
The breakfast at the three-star Megel Hotel was indeed plentiful. The NPC dwarf waiter first collected Loki's meal ticket, and after a while, Elaine finished dressing and politely handed over her meal ticket as well.
"Loki, let's sit over there," Elaine pointed.
"Okay, sure," Loki said with a smile. He had already prepared the silver plates, and the two of them sat down and went to get their food together.
Loki and Elaine both took hot milk and bread. Elaine also took some luncheon meat and peanut cheese, while Loki took some raisins.
They returned to their seats, glanced at the food on each other's plates, and smiled simultaneously. This reminded them of a familiar place—"Demar Farm."
"Eleanor, I'd like to ask you, do you remember? Which map's farm was the first one I visited at Demacia Farm?" Loki said, taking a sip of fresh milk.
"Brother Loki, don't worry, I definitely remember! Let me think! It should be, it should be the Yundar map!! That's my and my father's secret base! How could I forget?" Elaine answered with a loud laugh, but perhaps feeling that her voice was a bit loud, she quickly covered her mouth, lowered her head to eat her bread, and then tasted the cheese.
"The texture of this cheese is really far inferior to the cheese produced by our Demar Farm. The bread is baked well, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside!" Elaine commented while chewing with relish, seemingly trying to change the subject of Loki's earlier question.
Elaine was actually afraid of crying... She missed Demar Farm so much... Elaine lowered her head and began to eat voraciously again, using food to satisfy her longing...
Loki sensed this and didn't continue asking the awkward question. Loki didn't taste the cheese; he preferred eating bread with raisins.
He also fondly recalled the carefree days he spent as a guest at Demar Farm.
