Sister Kaza, the guide in the beginner village, warmly greeted Loki and Elaine as they turned in their quest.
"You guys are really amazing! Man-eating spiders aren't easy to deal with. Congratulations on reaching level 15!"
Sister Kaza was holding scrolls and lottery cards that resembled mission rewards.
"Sister Kaza, are those cards in your hand a reward for us?" Elaine asked curiously, her words flowing freely.
"Oh, this is a resurrection scroll. It's a free gift for your first recharge. Recently, some heroes have been killed by spiders as soon as they log in. Unlike you guys, they don't have much combat experience. They can't even dodge. It's so worrying!" Sister Kaza said, her expression not looking too good, as if she had some kind of assessment task.
"Yeah, I also think the man-eating spiders are just for show. Even though I didn't fight them much," Elaine said with a coquettish expression.
"You're so lucky to have such a handsome and capable protector!" Sister Kaza didn't forget to say a few nice words, but in reality, she wanted to sell the resurrection scroll.
"Loki the Warrior, and Elaine the Sister. You guys should also trade a set; you'll definitely need them later when entering dungeons."
"Ah~ 4 gold coins?? Isn't it free, Sister Kaza?" Elaine asked.
"First recharge is free, but I can give you one each. The first one in each set is free, but I don't sell them individually. You have to trade at least one set each time, which is very cost-effective! In the new map, you must use resurrection scrolls to resurrect. Without resurrection scrolls, dying will be a huge loss," Sister Kaza kindly explained. (Kaza, the newbie guide, indirectly introduces the death mechanism in Classic WoW, deliberately holding back some details; this may be a hidden subplot of a future main quest.)
"Eleanor, let's buy it too, just in case," Loki advised. He knew that buying the Resurrection scroll was entirely a matter of "social etiquette." Not buying it would seem stingy. But they couldn't easily reveal their true financial situation.
"Alright then, Loki, I'll buy two sets, one set for each of us."
With that, they completed the transaction with Sister Kaza, the guide in the newbie village.
Sister Kaza was indeed a kind and understanding guide; she even proactively tied their Hearthstones to the inn, saving them from walking for another half a day.
"Thank you, Sister Kaza. Well, we'll be going now." Loki said politely.
"Goodbye, Sister Kaza!" Elaine waved and said.
"Farewell, young man, may your journey be pleasant! May the Holy Light forever shine upon you!" Sister Kaza was very kind, not forgetting to utter that classic NPC line... (A universal blessing from NPCs across multiple worlds)
"Brother Loki, she's given us another blessing," Elaine said, gazing at the distant sunset.
"Yeah! Her passive is Blessing, it's really powerful. Just a few words, a tiny bit of mana, and she can buff us both. It shows that not just any hero can be a receptionist." Loki patiently explained as they walked, using some difficult-to-understand language. Even though Elaine didn't understand, she didn't ask why; she seemed to be gradually getting used to it.
Their destination was the beginner village inn.
Hearthstone teleportation requires no spell. (Double-click the Hearthstone icon with your left mouse button)
The warm, flickering candlelight came into view. Bruno's Tavern in the starting village has been reached (211, 335).
"Hello~~ Travelers! Welcome to Bruno's Inn. My name is Tom. How are you? Tired from fighting monsters? How about a few draft beers to cool off?" (At Bruno's bar, there is a prominent sign with small print: "This inn only accepts gold coins, no ingots accepted.")
Tom, the bartender at the hotel, greeted us warmly while wiping the tables. He was a dwarf, slightly overweight. The suffix of his name was hidden, but he was not much different from the Toms at other hotels—"smiling and enthusiastic," at least for now.
"Thank you, Brother Tom, but we won't drink. We need to book two rooms. Then we'll book dinner as well, and we'll eat in our respective rooms," Loki said politely.
"Received, esteemed guest. You are our god, aren't you? Hmm... let me calculate. If a light meal + deluxe room costs 5 gold coins, that's option A; if a deluxe meal + standard room costs 6 gold coins, that's option B; if a standard room + deluxe meal costs 4 gold coins, that's option C; if a standard room + standard meal costs 3 gold coins, that's option D. If there are two people, remember to multiply by 2. How about that? Fair price, right? Please select A, B, C, or D to proceed. Thank you!"
Loki carefully examined the pop-up menu. (Left-click to select)
"We choose A. Multiply by 2, that's 10 gold coins. This is 15 gold coins, of which 5 are a tip, Brother Tom." Loki didn't forget to give a tip.
"OK, thanks!" Tom said in fluent Universal Language. (Multiverse Universal Language)
The inn accommodation area in the beginner village is located in a wooden building on the second floor of an attic, without an elevator.
"Loki, shall we have dinner together later?" Elaine said as she followed Loki inside.
"Okay, I'll bring the food over in a bit. You should take a shower first," Loki said.
Loki entered the room, which was quite clean. He threw his dirty armor (level 6, green) directly into the trash can and changed into his only set of simple casual clothes (fashion).
Elaine was in the same boat; after entering the Classic server, she couldn't bring any combat gear, including weapons and blueprints. After taking a shower, she changed into casual clothes (fashionable attire).
The hot water at Bruno's Inn in the beginner village is plentiful and doesn't keep running intermittently.
The hot water flowing "splashing" must be from the nearby hot springs. Since there are few goblin people here, they probably haven't invented a "water heater" (intermediate engineering) yet.
A simple meal consists of a few slices of bread, some raisins, and a cup of hot milk.
After dinner, Loki helped Elaine clear away the dishes and put them on a tray on the wooden table by the door so that the waiters could clean them up in the morning.
"Elena, I haven't touched my bread. If you're hungry tonight, you can eat some more." Loki wasn't very hungry; he only drank a glass of milk and ate a few raisins.
"Okay, Loki, I want to drive that!" Elaine pointed.
Inn Treasure Chest (Blue; Unique; No Level Requirement)
"You want to open a treasure chest?? I don't think you'll find anything here, right?" Loki asked doubtfully. He wasn't worried about the money, but rather that Elaine might develop bad habits.
"Let me get some equipment, then we won't have to worry about the early game," Elaine explained.
"Alright then, you have 20 treasure chests here, and I have 20 in my room. If we open them all, each chest costs 10 gold coins, so it will cost 400 gold coins in total. Let's open these 40 chests and then not wait for them to refresh, okay?" Loki asked.
"Yay! Awesome! Let's open the treasure chest!!" Elaine exclaimed. She danced with joy!
Loki stood to the side carrying a pile of blue treasure chests, occasionally opening one himself.
"Wow, a beautiful blue staff! Item level 15! I can use it right away, isn't that amazing, Loki?!" Elaine got the item she wanted from her third treasure chest. The first two chests only contained fruit.
"Hmm! That's great equipment! I give you a thumbs up!" Loki praised.
Loki washed the fruit and arranged it on a crystal plate from the hotel. The fruit looked incredibly fresh, as if it had just been picked from the tree. (Note: The server has a robust supply chain.)
Loki handed Elaine an orange while he ate an apple. He continued collecting the discarded treasure chests he had opened, then stacked them in the corner by the door, waiting for the empty chests to disappear.
After opening the inn's treasure chest, it will automatically respawn approximately every hour.
The service and quality of the Classic WoW servers are undeniable. However, there are quite a few hidden costs. In Classic WoW, if you don't have money, the experience and the feeling of survival are completely different.
