Dark Eldar

195 Ancestors

Sena City (891533), a "small main city" composed of countless islands, may not be as grand as Thunder City, but its fame is extremely high. It is the birthplace of the dwarven sorcerer "Lentahill." The surrounding area also boasts numerous ancient castles and historical sites. Nowadays, young people consider it an honor to have traveled to Sena City! (Airship service not yet operational)

Elisa knew very little about her mother's background. In her memory, her mother seemed to have no connection with "heroes." However, her aunt had indeed hidden many things from Elisa, at least about her "youthful years."

In this multiverse, no one can clearly describe what they truly are. Some even cross-dress (without real-name authentication; isolated cases), while others are villains posing as heroes (account hacking). Elisa's "dream" is chaotic; countless diverse people pass before her—heroes and commoners alike. There are "monsters," and ordinary dwarf assassins or gnome mages. Elisa's eyes widen, desperately trying to discern something from the crowd. But her level is too low. "Soul Wandering"? That's a "limited spell" of a level 70 elder; a level 10-something priest couldn't possibly comprehend it. [Note: Historically, there have been instances where ordinary people learned the advanced spell "Soul Wandering," but those were "Prophet" professions (none).] The "Prophets'" mastery of "wandering magic" (deduction) allows them not only to quickly "browse" the vast world, but more astonishingly, they can travel through time, foreseeing events that are about to happen and those that have already occurred, to warn the world! Since the end of the Morsaya Dynasty, "Order" no longer trusts "humans," has distanced itself from the "elves," revoked a large number of "authorities" (forbidden magic), exiled the few remaining "prophets," and completely removed their "mark" (canceled VIP privileges).

Daylight broke quickly, and the first thing the young pastor Elisa did after getting up was to cast a "restore" spell on herself. Under the warm morning sun, the small thorns, which were no longer so "prickly," became exceptionally hard, as if the sun had bestowed new energy upon the "plant."

"97 HP, 80 MP, not bad. If I can hold on for another week, I should be able to finish this awful quest!" Alyssa encouraged herself. (Encouragement, Beginner)

At midday, the sun grew even more scorching. Elisa wiped her sweat, parched with thirst. A level 18 female novice priest struggled through the level 28 Thorn Jungle... Along the way, the occasional corpse of a strong man lay scattered on the ground (class unknown)...

Elisa could distinguish between men and women by the indistinctness of their skulls. Some of their backpacks still contained leftover water, which, thanks to the protection of the magical backpacks, had "not evaporated."

At this moment, Alyssa couldn't care less about anything else. She simply believed, "This is a gift from heaven!" Whether it was poisonous or not, she picked it up and drank it. Alyssa actually had a few more bottles of water in her backpack, but she didn't want to drink them now, fearing there might be a "desert" ahead... (No one could tell Alyssa in advance what kind of "obstacle map" she would encounter, especially her mentor, the high-ranking priest Elaine. That would be "cheating." Every "early adopter" preparing to accept the "crossing the border challenge" has a limited amount of health and mana they can carry. They usually can't be "fully loaded." The reason for not stating this is that the "weight limit" alone would be unbearable for any low-level early adopter...)

And so, the novice priestess, Elisa, persevered through hardship and suffering... Sometimes she would think about other things. Although the "life challenge" at hand was important, she was unwilling to give up the "scenery along the way." Occasionally, she would listen to music (a free item for newbies), or pause briefly to contemplate life. After all, beneath her feet lay the remains of those deceased ancestors, some of whom looked like "ancestral ancestors" from hundreds of years ago... At one point, when a newbie ID died, the Order refused to grant "resurrection," and many newbies, in a fit of pique, chose to give up. Thus, the resurrection privilege was reopened for a period of time. Now it's "closed" again! In other words, if Elisa couldn't get out, the only thing she could do was "call for help" (for a fee)! If rescue didn't arrive in time, Elisa's fate would be the same as the corpses of her ancestral ancestors on the ground: wither, dry up, and end her life...

"Elisa? In the end, did you send out a distress signal?" Elisa often asked herself this question on the way.

"Hey! I can't just call for help every time I'm in trouble! Besides, Sister Elaine helped me a lot in the beginning, I can't become a stumbling block for her, she still has to take care of Uncle Dema! If she comes to rescue me, and Uncle Dema gets attacked by the enemy, wouldn't I become a sinner for all time?!" Elisa was quite conflicted, even though she hadn't yet reached the point where she absolutely had to ask for help... But the awareness of "being prepared for danger in times of peace" was firmly ingrained in her heart.

The sun rose in the east and set in the west, almost disappearing below the horizon. Just like yesterday, Elisa stood on tiptoe, peering around. "There are still so many thick thorns ahead! I thought I could get through this obstacle in two weeks, but it's going to be this difficult!" Elisa felt a pang of despair. As a frail woman, tears welled up in her eyes... She couldn't bear to leave her father and mother like this. She straightened her back, determined to live on, to fight on!! Even if it meant giving it her last ounce of strength...
