Dark Eldar
194 The Story of Seine
The elusive "Elisa." A novice priest, level 18. Don't let her humble origins fool you; despite her low level, Elisa possesses the potential to become a hero, boasting unwavering willpower and indomitable "courage."
The "chaotic" and "wildly growing" thorns (neutral; level 28) in the Wildlands are solely to prevent the First Men, other natives, and ordinary monsters from wandering off. It's also the most resource-efficient method. Even with a "flight potion," recklessly crossing the "obstacles" in the Barrens at a low level is extremely dangerous. Often, restless "newbies," unwilling to be trapped in the Wildlands, secretly purchase "flight potions" from alchemists, but they fall halfway down (due to the "spell barriers" in the air). Shouting or calling for help is useless; they can only watch helplessly as they become "fertilizer" for the thorns. It's incredibly cruel...
The situation is much better on maps outside the Wildlands. There are almost no "obstacles" to restrict access, and the lands belong to "highly civilized" nations.
For several days, the beautiful young pastor, Elisa, was almost covered in wounds. Although she kept applying "Recovery" (to save mana), the new and old punctures on her face and body each took a certain amount of time to heal. Many people believe that pastors are omnipotent, and Elisa's injuries are a testament to that. For treating external injuries, bandages are sometimes the most effective; basic bandages can stop bleeding; more advanced ones can also provide anesthesia and pain relief.
Alyssa's face was also pierced, with several deep cuts on half of her cheek. She tried her best to keep her right cheek from touching the reflected vines. She wanted to keep half of her face for her beloved—Loki. Girls all like to be beautiful, and Alyssa was no exception. But she knew very well in her heart: "I must complete this dangerous 'red-level' mission alone." The instructions clearly stated, "No teamwork or cheating!"
Night fell as expected. Alyssa, using her thin elbows to support herself against the obstructing branches, took out a sandwich from her backpack with her other hand and ate. She had already mastered a few "tricks." "Don't try to break thick thorns with brute force. Doing so not only wastes a lot of energy but also angers them!! Even though they can't speak, plants are still living things... I can feel it!" Alyssa muttered to herself. He was right. Some intermediate shamans, although they considered themselves knowledgeable about all "natural resistances," weren't truly "reverent" towards plants. Only by truly understanding the "resilience" of plants could they "coexist harmoniously" with them. Like Alyssa's master, High Priest Elaine, she absolutely understood this. Furthermore, High Priest Elaine was also very aware of the dangers here. The reason she only provided potions, along with her writing style, was to help Alyssa grow as quickly as possible. For Elaine, a high-level priest, leveling up an account to around level 50 again would be a piece of cake. However, she had learned her lesson before: blindly helping the weak would not only make things harder for herself, but would also turn her into a "weak priest"... (A "weak priest" is a priest with virtually no self-defense capabilities, also known as a "greenhouse priest," or colloquially, a "useless account.")
The moonlight was obscured by dark clouds, plunging everything into darkness. Elisa dared not use the torch (a free item), fearing it would anger the "wood" type plants. However, to Elisa's surprise, "the heart of the thorny jungle wasn't cold..."
Countless small, fuzzy thorns, like a "stiff blanket," initially pricked Elisa as she lay in the crevice. But slowly, a gentle breeze rustled through them, and she seemed to begin to enjoy this "hardship." ... [Note: The new version 30 is fair to everyone, to every hero, including those who aspire to "improve." ... Of course, "order" will set up certain "obstacles" to discourage those with weak wills. If all basic NPCs "awakened" to become "heroes," it would be devastating for the entire "multiverse." ... Back in the ancient era [beta testing], after the first ancestor learned magic with the help of the elven chieftain, countless others followed suit. Farmland was "abandoned"! Carpenters became "extinct," and people universally wanted to become stronger! Some even wanted to defeat "ancient beasts" (BOSSes)! Gradually, the "order" was continuously improved (Java was rewritten), leading people to firmly believe in the universal principle that "what suits you best is the best." After the public beta, the early inhabitants gradually adapted to the changes in their attributes and stopped daydreaming all day. The life of fighting and killing was no longer what they wanted, and many "heroes" gradually began to return to their "families." They cultivated wasteland, married, had children, and educated the next generation to be "well-behaved and obedient," passing this tradition down through generations. Thus, since its launch on version 10, the entire "multiverse" has maintained harmony, tranquility, and stability. Occasionally, "major events" occur, but these are conflicts between "heroes," unrelated to the "early inhabitants." Some only "awaken" occasionally when oppressed, transforming into new heroes to "join the battle"! Overall, the entire "multiverse," including the "other world," is relatively stable, complex, mysterious, and indescribable. Of course, it is also "exciting and diverse."
Elisa curled up and drifted off to sleep. Her "awakening" wasn't just due to her encounter with the otherworldly sorcerer "Loki"; the blood flowing through Elisa's veins carried the will of her mother. While her mother's origins remained a mystery, she consistently maintained the "tradition" of being a kind and virtuous farmer's wife. Little did she know, her aunt, like Elisa, had dreamed of becoming a remarkable "heroine" (as depicted in "The Story of Seine"; a separate storyline), happily "fighting evil and protecting the innocent" with her "Prince Charming" every day...
