Dark Eldar
12 Simple Dwarf Guards
With the guide's assistance, Loki's stamina expenditure was greatly reduced. When he got tired, he flew for a while. When he got tired of flying, he continued walking. It consumed no mana at all.
He opened the map, wanting to double-check his location. This parchment map was a handwritten copy by Loki in the west wing of Demar Farm; it was a rough abridged version, with some important locations simply marked with symbols. (△○□)
"Looks like we've reached the foot of Mount Fraser! There will be a market and a fortress if we keep going." Loki finished the last sip of water. He couldn't bear to throw away the blue crystal bottle, so he put it back in his backpack.
"Loki, in the present, don't be bound by the past." Before setting off, Loki reminded himself. Some of these words, like coded messages, might only be understood by Loki himself.
From a great distance, Loki saw the city walls.
"Besides the towering city walls, there should be barriers here, and even traps! They're probably all for the alien species." Loki slowed his pace; he didn't want to make a fool of himself.
"Ridiculous. If the aliens wanted to attack, wouldn't a simple magic wall become their food? Have they already made a pact?"
As you approach the border, on the watchtower inside the fortress, there are two dwarf guards holding bows and arrows.
That's when they discovered Loki.
Because of the thick magical wall separating them, Loki could not speak to the dwarves on the high ground and could only communicate with sign language.
Dwarves have never had a good impression of humans, and Yundar is no exception.
The guard waved his hand, indicating that Loki was not allowed to enter.
Loki, who was used to moving freely, was getting impatient. He really wanted to smash this rudimentary "barrier" in front of him with a single blow, leaving these two dimwits dumbfounded. Or he could simply swagger in.
Loki, however, held back.
"What's here is here. Don't be bound by the past," Loki convinced himself, word by word. He felt that such recklessness and irrationality would only make things worse. Surely, it wasn't about to resort to ruthless extermination again!
Everyone makes mistakes, even heroes. Loki still vividly remembers the bloody lesson of that year! Even though it wasn't his fault that time.
"Hatred and prejudice will change over time..." Loki believed with certainty.
At noon, the sun rose, and the clever Loki had an idea!
The two dwarf guards kept a constant, vigilant watch on Loki. Normally, they would have been fast asleep by now.
Loki unzipped his backpack and pretended to eat bread from it. Then he used magic to fly.
He had exactly two pieces of magic bread left.
In mid-air, Loki gestured that he would give it to them for free.
"Look! Look at him!" the slightly fatter one shouted, pointing at Loki. (Common language; Dwarven language had been assimilated during the Ancient Wars.)
"Wow!" Although dwarves generally don't receive magical education, they had still heard of "flying magic bread."
The two dimwitted fellows hurriedly ran down, forgetting even to bring their bows and arrows.
The slightly overweight man eagerly untied the magic key from his belt and opened the "emergency door" for Loki.
Taking the bread, the two dwarves hurriedly tried to eat it. No wonder; they were probably hungry. After all, they should have gone back for lunch long ago, but Loki had kept them waiting.
"It flew away!"
"We flew!" The two guys always said the same thing, which was quite funny. They never dreamed that they could fly.
"Let Mom see!"
"Let Mom see!" It was always the slightly overweight dwarf who spoke first.
Loki guessed they were brothers.
"Hey! The key! The key!" Loki called out to them.
"Oh, thank you!" The slightly overweight dwarf closed the emergency door, nearly falling over as he was still suspended in mid-air.
"Let Mom see!"
"Let Mother see!" the two dwarves said hastily as they walked. It seemed they had forgotten Loki and the guards of the castle.
He didn't even have a chance to tell the "lie" that Loki had prepared.
The content is roughly as follows:
Why can't it fly high?
"Look, I'm thin, you're fat; I'm light, you're heavy, of course we can't fly high!"
Unfortunately, Loki didn't have the chance to say it. The dwarves' world was simpler than he had imagined.
