Dark Eldar

Ludar breathed a sigh of relief as the situation was quickly "subsiding." He always understood one thing: "Even if the elven siblings were killed, I wouldn't gain anything. In comparison, if we could resolve this peacefully, Kevingani's future expansion would require the help of more high-ranking heroes. Only through cooperation could we achieve a win-win situation." (The threat posed by the Kevingani Oni tribe was no secret.)

Ludar urged, "Irete, let's join forces! Lord Dark meant no harm; he's just trying to maintain balance. If the other battalion commanders saw your blue +9.0 pet, what do you think they'd think?"

At crucial moments, seemingly insignificant words can lower someone's guard. Sure enough, Eliza nodded to her brother.

After the meeting, the villagers of Gludin Castle gathered in the center of the square to read the notice. The notice included a brief overview of the town's upgrade progress, a leaderboard (ranking players by monster kills, aggro values, and DPS output of each party), and also featured wanted posters and bounty notices.

"Wow! A 9.0 blue staff! I heard the elves bought it from the weapon shop in our city! That 'Scout Staff' forged by the Moors! It cost a full 30 gold coins!" said a seemingly knowledgeable "Warrior" (a new class, literally). He spoke loudly enough for most people around to hear him.

"Look at them, they're so rich! I'm so envious! The weapon shop owners, Mr. and Mrs. Will, are opening another branch this time!" a woman exclaimed dramatically. (In towns of medium to high level, two weapon shops are permitted.)

"I also heard that this weapon was originally intended by the old city lord Hawkville as a betrothal gift for the little princess, and the price had already been agreed upon! It should have been 15 gold coins. It's a pity he died, and the little princess is now a female soldier. I saw her just a few days ago!" a half-human said.

"You! You think you can even see our princess? I heard she's already a level 13 swordsman! What are you? You have no chance of seeing her! You should know how much a frail young lady has to sacrifice to become a female soldier!!" The words were very intimidating, making the half-human from before tremble.

Looking towards the sound, they saw a remarkable figure—Mana, the previously hideous "humanoid monster," who was suspected to be a prophet. His current role was to "act as eyes and ears," and he was under the direct command of Ludal.

Dark couldn't understand why a profession that had long been "extinct" among humans had "reappeared" in Kevin Garney.

That was the "Prophet," and Ludal decided to completely conceal this "suspected prophet" humanoid creature from Dark's notice. Ludal sometimes did risky things in secret. The explanation, of course, was prepared well in advance. (Ludal had many informants; Mana was just one of them, making the risk extremely low.)

Was Mana truly a prophet?

This is a question. No one can answer it. Ludar has inquired everywhere. Kevingani doesn't have a profession called "Prophet," or even a "Foretold." In this "other world," many wizards and wandering mages impersonate "Prophets." You must know that a true prophet has a "special characteristic": they must emerge from among ordinary people or humanoid monsters (descendants of the ancients and banshees). In other words, a prophet never chooses any profession (non-hero). Early on, "Scout Squad Leader" was just a position for Mana; he didn't become a squad leader as a warrior or mage, but entirely through his "unique talent." When he first arrived, Mana's fluent conversation in the large teleportation plaza had already amazed Ludar!

Ludal speculated, "Mana deliberately abandoned his post as scout squad leader and fled to meet the Dak army..."

Although Mana is ugly, he has his own way of surviving. He has no shortage of food or clothing. (Ludar pays him a monthly military salary. His task is: "To seek out and investigate any destabilizing factors within the city.")

After leaving the square, Mana arrived at the main gate. He presented his "amulet" (a pass authorized by Ludal, of a high rank, which ordinary guards dared not stop).

"Please!" The human guard respectfully let him pass, even gesturing for him to yield. He couldn't understand: "Why does this seemingly ordinary humanoid monster (a poor person) have such a high-level pass???"

In fact, not only the young guards, but even Loki, and even the Archmage Schopenhauer, had many perplexing questions every day.
