Card Master: My Special Feature - Choose One of Three

Chapter 27 I'll do it, I'll do it

Xia Yuebai's face turned pale and then red. Bai Miao was still as infuriating as ever.

But there were still people joining in his antics; Lü Dantong raised her hand, jumping around and fanning the flames.

"I'll do it! I'll do it!"

Like a sapling bearing great fruit, Lü Dantong has a serious imbalance in her academic performance.

Adhering to the principle of not looking at what is improper, Bai Miao only glanced at it.

After all, how can you know if it's indecent assault if you don't look?

"Don't go along with his nonsense!" Xia Yuebai grabbed Lü Dantong by the back of the neck.

Lu Dantong became obedient, grinning sheepishly at Bai Miao, while secretly observing him without making a sound.

She was curious about the relationship between Bai Miao and Xia Yuebai, which could make her calm and clear-headed best friend lose her composure so easily.

"Hey! Did you hear what I said?"

When has He Changlin ever been ignored, let alone left out by three people at the same time?

Bai Miao stared at Xia Yuebai again, and Xia Yuebai clearly read a sentence from his expression.

"Your suitor is of such low quality; he seems to have no brains."

Seeing the two start arguing again, He Changlin gritted his teeth in anger and impulsively threw a punch at Bai Miao.

boom!

With a muffled thud, He Changlin collapsed to the ground, blood seeping from the back of his head soaking the ground.

Bai Miao spread his hands, took several steps back, and looked completely innocent.

"It wasn't me, I didn't do anything."

He's been threatened and framed for insurance fraud; he's really unlucky.

The unlucky rule of encountering Xia Yuebai is indeed true.

The last time I ran into her, I was challenged to a fight as soon as I stepped out the door.

It's best to stay away from her in the future.

"I'm so sorry! I'm really sorry!"

A student with a watermelon-shaped haircut rushed over from the second-year group. His arms were two or three times the size of a normal person's, clearly because he was in such a hurry that he forgot to deactivate the card first.

"I never expected my first spiritual technique—the missile—to fly so far and with such force; I couldn't control the force for a moment..."

Zhang Yixin apologized repeatedly, and the first- and second-year combat course teachers who noticed the situation quickly arrived at the scene.

After a brief discussion, the teachers told Zhang Yixin to go back and continue the assessment, and randomly pointed to a male classmate nearby, asking him to take He Changlin to the infirmary.

Bai Miao turned around in the direction the teacher was pointing and found no one behind him.

"Huh? Me?"

Bai Miao resignedly used his second spiritual spell, Summoning, to lift He Changlin off the ground and take him to the infirmary.

His display of skill caused Cao Bingyi, the teacher in charge of the first-year combat class, to raise an eyebrow. He then whispered to You Zhilin, the teacher in charge of the second-year combat class:

"This student is something else; he just used Spirit Spell Two - Summoning."

When it comes to spiritual arts, You Zhilin gets really excited.

"Recently, those sophomores, I don't know what's wrong with them, they've been practicing spirit magic every day in the training ground."

"I'm thinking, instead of spending time practicing Spirit Technique 1, I should do more card adaptation training. You know how much combat power you can increase by relying on Spirit Techniques, right?"

"And guess what? That student just now ranked 21st in the grade at the end of last semester, which was near the bottom."

"In this assessment, I think there will be 21 students in the grade, which is positive."

"One of my magic spells - Missile - is fast, powerful, and can be used in conjunction with cards."

"He has made the most progress, and the other students who have been diligently practicing spiritual arts have also made considerable progress."

"Tell me, isn't this incredibly weird?"

"Indeed, it's quite eerie," Cao Bingyi agreed, recalling something.

"Many students have seen their combat skills improve so much because of spiritual techniques."

The school plans to cancel the compulsory course on spiritual arts and replace it with an elective course, with each spiritual art taught separately so that students can choose the spiritual arts they need.

Would they agree to that?

"Of course they agree, why wouldn't they?" You Zhilin said with some envy. "They're just waiting for spiritual arts to be changed from a compulsory subject to an elective so they can take a class taught by a teacher surnamed Bai."

"Sigh, when will students start begging me to take their classes?"

"I'm not going to say anything more, I'm still taking my entrance exams." You Zhilin quickly left.

When Zhang Yixin returned to the sophomore area, several familiar classmates gathered around to ask her what was wrong:

"Is nothing serious? That junior seems to be badly injured."

"Your first spiritual technique is too powerful. Fei Hang, who usually looks down on us brothers, almost knelt down after taking one of your missiles."

"This spiritual arts class is too mysterious. If I had known it was mandatory last time, I wouldn't have skipped class."

After answering his friends' questions one by one, Zhang Yixin belatedly realized...

"I think I just saw Professor Bai in the freshman area."

He then thought that it was common for teachers to teach several grades at the same time.

There were three small beds in the infirmary. He Changlin was lying on one of them. The wound on the back of his head was still throbbing slightly through the gauze after the doctor treated it.

A man is lying on the ground, eating snacks, drinking beverages, and engrossed in reading a comic book he somehow managed to get his hands on.

A small fish nestled inside a tapioca pearl, happily playing with its own tail.

"Hey, aren't you going back to class?"

He Changlin's head was already throbbing with pain, and seeing Bai Miao and Fen Yuan made the pain even worse.

Bai Miao ignored him, turned over, and laughed out loud while looking at the comic book.

The person who puts funny comics in the infirmary is a genius. Aren't they afraid that the injured people will laugh their wounds open?

"Ignoring me again," He Changlin groped to get out of bed, his mind churning as he moved his head.

At this moment, Bai Miao finally noticed him. "Are you alright, classmate?"

"Why aren't you going back to class?" He Changlin asked himself.

"If you have the opportunity to skip class so blatantly, why go back to class?"

Surely there aren't really people in this world who really enjoy going to class? If there are, Bai Miao doesn't think they'd be like He Changlin.

Why are you ignoring me?

"Why should I talk to you if you're not talking to me?"

Bai Miao simply couldn't bring himself to say something like, "First of all, I'm not called 'Feed'."—a line typically found only in TV dramas.

"How long have you liked Xia Yuebai?" Bai Miao closed the comic book.

He and Xia Yuebai attended Jiangbei Middle School and Jiangnan Middle School, respectively. Apart from their childhood friendship, their lives overlapped but not much.

"Why should I tell you!" He Changlin's ears turned red, and he stammered in a low voice, "Two years."

"Why do you like her?" Bai Miao asked curiously. After all, they were childhood friends, and he had to give her some advice.

"What's it to you?"

"It's none of my business, why are you telling me to stay away from her?"

He Changlin was stunned when he heard Bai Miao's question.

What he said makes a lot of sense, but it also seems like—

"Let me introduce myself, Bai Miao."

I've known Xia Yuebai since I was three years old; we've been friends since we were little.

"If you're trying to woo Xia Yuebai and are hostile towards me, brother, you're making a mistake."

Have you ever watched a TV series? To pursue someone, you first need to build good relationships with the people around her, like me, and like Lü Dantong.

If we had said a few good things about you to Xia Yuebai, you wouldn't have spent two years pursuing her without any results.

Upon hearing Bai Miao's words, He Changlin understood that Xia Yuebai had been rejecting him because he hadn't used the right methods.

He got it.

"My name is He Changlin. My father is He Jin, the president of the Fuchang Chamber of Commerce. I'll take care of everything from now on. I've made you my brother."

"Bai Miao! We grew up together, right? Tell me, what can you tell He Changlin? What good things can you say for him?"

Xia Yuebai walked into the infirmary with a heavy heart.

She came to the infirmary specifically because she knew how unreliable Bai Miao was.

Bai Miao's scalp tightened, and he winked at Lü Dantong, "How much did she hear?"

Lu Dantong shrugged, and Bai Miao understood that she had heard everything.
