Chapter 73 Happy Midwinter Festival

Happy Midwinter Festival, everyone.

Behind the bar, Gustav greeted the three with a smile, twirling several glasses filled with different liquids in his hands as if showing off.

He quickly prepared three glasses of amber-colored liquor and placed them in front of the three people.

"A special concoction for the Midwinter Festival, please enjoy."

He had, of course, seen what had just happened, and as he pushed Lorraine's glass of wine away, he smiled and winked at him.

That look seemed to say, "You've got some skills, kid!"

He then turned around and called out loudly towards the kitchen, "Lily! Come out here for a second, Piper wants to give you a tip!"

"Here it comes!"

The kitchen door curtain was quickly lifted.

Lily came out carrying a whole platter of freshly baked roast meats.

"Who? Who gave a tip...Little Piper?"

She spotted the short man standing on the bar stool, proudly patting the ten silver coins on the bar counter.

His "Pip isn't in debt today" expression made her chuckle, but her gaze quickly shifted to his side.

That handsome young man from before is here too!

Lily smiled slightly.

Today she wore a carefully chosen light blue dress, with a delicate leather cord tied around her waist to accentuate her curves.

This afternoon, she looked at herself in the bronze mirror no less than ten times. When Mia from the bakery next door passed by, she even praised her, saying she looked like someone who had stepped out of a painting.

She's determined to win over that handsome young man today!

Lily placed the plate of grilled meat on the bar counter, not rushing to strike up a conversation with the handsome young man, but deliberately turning to Piper first, hoping to use their acquaintance to build a closer relationship:

"Well, little Piper, you've finally remembered to tip me after three months?"

"Now we're not indebted anymore..."

The short man shrank his neck, muttered something, but his eyes kept glancing at the plate of roast meat.

Lily reached out and patted him lightly on the head, then picked up the silver coins one by one and put them into the pocket of her dress.

"You passed this time! Oh... Mr. Lorraine is here too!"

She looked at Lorraine with surprise, as if she had just noticed him.

"Yes, Happy Midwinter Festival, Ms. Lily."

"Just call me Lily~"

Lily leaned down gently, one hand on the edge of the bar, the other hand naturally resting on her waist.

The pale blue collar of her dress opened slightly with her movement, and the white lace trim at the neckline gently brushed against her collarbone.

Lorraine caught a whiff of her sweet fragrance and quickly lowered his head to take a sip of his drink. He hadn't forgotten who was sitting next to him; if he looked at her any longer, his study plan might be ruined.

However, this Midwinter Festival special is quite delicious. The spiciness of ginger and the sweetness of honey blend together perfectly for this season.

Warm and caring.

Lily saw him lower his head and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly.

So you're too shy to look at yourself?

Looks like I made the right choice with this outfit!

She was about to continue her offensive when, after Lorraine lowered his head, the person behind him was revealed.

The red-haired girl sat casually on a high stool, gently swirling her wine glass with one hand and resting her other hand on the stool behind her.

Lily's gaze swept quickly over Eileen, revealing the subtle thoughts that only women could instantly understand.

From the pleats that gather at the waist, to the small section of the jawline perfectly framed by the neckline, to the two silver bead earrings on the earlobes...

She looked at Eileen's dress with particular envy.

The wool was a pure turquoise green color. She had never even seen this dye in Frost Valley City. The material looked incredibly expensive; she probably couldn't afford it even if she sold herself.

And yet, she wore such an expensive dress so casually, sitting at the bar counter of a tavern filled with the smell of alcohol and sweat.

She's a really rich girl.

Lily averted her gaze as if she'd been electrocuted, but she didn't back down. She remained relaxed on the bar, even more so.

"Mr. Lorraine," she turned to Lorraine and said pitifully, "I happen to have tomorrow off. I wonder if you have time? I happen to know a delicious restaurant, but unfortunately, I've never had anyone to go with."

Lorraine sensed the murderous aura around him rising rapidly. He silently rubbed the glass in his hand and looked down to admire the wine inside.

"Tomorrow..."

He tried his best to make his voice sound like he was thinking seriously, carefully considering each word, "I might have to go collect the bounty tomorrow, and I also have to..."

"Collecting the bounty is a morning matter," Eileen's voice interjected from the side. She said casually, "There's nothing to do this afternoon."

"Cough cough..."

Lorraine gasped, turned to look at her, and found her staring at her with a half-smile.

This woman really holds a grudge...

"I also have things to do this afternoon; we've arranged to go shopping for clothes," he added.

Eileen didn't say anything this time, but simply raised her glass, took a sip, and secretly curled the corners of her mouth up.

"And who is this?" Lily turned her head to look at her.

Eileen glanced at her coldly, from Lily's pale blue collar all the way down to the thin leather cord that perfectly outlined her curves.

"The dress is beautiful, and the color suits you perfectly," she said.

Their eyes met above the bar.

Lily looked away first.

This color suits me perfectly; light blue is the best-looking color I can afford.

While this wasn't the territorial self-introduction she had envisioned, it was clearly more sophisticated.

She won't make people think she's jealous, and she can also back down when things get tough.

But this also reveals a very important piece of information: they are clearly far from confirming their relationship; she just got there first.

Otherwise, she only needs to declare her status; why would she need to resort to these roundabout methods?

"Your dress is beautiful too."

Lily sincerely praised her, saying that she knew exactly when to attack and when to hold back.

Starting a fight when a woman is at her most beautiful is not a smart choice.

"Then Mr. Lorraine, come see Lily again when you have time next time~"

She knew Lorraine wouldn't respond right now, so she reached out and snatched the plate of roast meat from Piper's hand, saying:

"It's a bit cold. I'll take it back and heat it up for you."

"Hey!"

The short man exclaimed in surprise, reaching out to grab the skewers, but only managed to grasp air.

"Pap doesn't feel cold..." he sighed.

Lorraine rubbed her temples, glanced at Gustav behind the bar who was shrugging and trying not to laugh, and then raised her glass to take a sip to calm herself down.

I managed to save my spell class.

He had just raised his glass, but before he could even take a sip, it was touched by a glass extended from the side.

Lorraine turned to look.

Eileen held the wine glass with her slender fingers, tilting her head slightly, seemingly pleased with his behavior:

Happy Midwinter Festival.

"Wait, wait! What about Piper? Happy Midwinter Festival!"

Lorraine opened her mouth, grinned, and clinked glasses with them.

Happy Midwinter Festival!
