Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?

Chapter 6 Transformation Lesson

The banquet began, and with a wave of Dumbledore's hand, many delicacies appeared on the long tables of the four houses.

After everyone had eaten for a while, Harry struck up a conversation with Percy, who was now Harry's senior.

"Percy, do you know who's next to Professor Quirrell?"

Harry met Professor Quirrell the first time he went to the Leaky Cauldron.

He pointed to the seat next to Professor Quirrell and asked.

Kevin glanced back. Oh, the old bat. It's alright then.

Percy said, "That's Professor Snape, the head of Slytherin."

"He teaches Potions, but he's very interested in Dark Magic and has wanted to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts for many years."

Upon hearing this, Harry looked thoughtfully in Snape's direction.

During the Sorting Ceremony, he noticed Snape looking at him, and then a sharp pain shot through the scar on his forehead.

Kevin asked Harry with concern what was wrong.

Harry shook his head at Kevin and smiled, saying it was nothing.

He didn't want to voice his suspicions yet.

Kevin pursed his lips. This kid is always like this, keeping everything bottled up inside.

Soon, with the arrival of the ghosts, the banquet reached its climax.

The commotion subsided quickly, and all the new students from each college followed their college's prefectural head to their rest area.

On their way, they passed the spiral staircase, and Prefect Percy showed them the way to the lounge and warned them not to get lost on the stairs.

Kevin, however, was more interested in the paintings on the wall.

They clearly possess a certain level of intelligence, but it's unclear how high that intelligence is or whether they can answer some questions about Hogwarts.

Ghosts, on the other hand, should be more complete individuals; they have memories of what happened before they died, as well as memories of what happened after they died.

They can even heed the college's call to action and search for students, etc.

"Kevin, hurry up and catch up."

As Kevin stopped to listen to the conversation of several people in a painting, Hermione, who was ahead of him, noticed Kevin standing motionless and beckoned him to follow.

"They're here."

Soon, the group of freshmen followed the prefect to the Gryffindor common room. At the entrance was a painting of the Fat Lady.

Percy said the command: "Dragon Scum"

The painting was opened, revealing an entrance passage.

The group filed in and arrived at Gryffindor's common rest area.

"Boys are on the left, girls are on the right. Your luggage has been put inside. Find your dorm rooms and don't go to the wrong one."

Percy gave the new students some instructions and then let them go up.

Kevin, Ron, and Halinaway were assigned to the same dorm room; they were all acquaintances, which was great.

Harry was so excited that he couldn't sleep that night; everything was so new and exciting.

Kevin, on the other hand, has excellent sleep habits and falls asleep as soon as he lies down in bed.

He could imagine his future life, where his daily routine would definitely be disrupted by the three little ones.

They're seasoned night owls.

The next morning, Kevin opened his eyes. It was quiet outside, and the sun had not yet fully risen.

Kevin tiptoed out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash his face.

I changed into some comfortable clothes and walked out of the Gryffindor rest area.

He wasn't very familiar with the area, so he just headed downstairs.

He quickly found a fairly large lawn yard, which looked like a public area.

Kevin then began his morning exercise, panting heavily.

Who knows how long he can keep up this morning exercise habit? But the system has started giving him tasks. He thinks there might be physical rewards or something in the later tasks.

Snape, who had been brewing potions all night, had just left the basement and returned to the first floor, heading towards his lounge.

As I passed a corridor, I stopped and looked back at Kevin, who was doing push-ups on the lawn outside the window.

?

Having worked at Hogwarts for so long, this is the first time I've seen students training so early in the morning.

Snape narrowed his eyes, stopped paying attention, and continued walking back to his lounge.

Soon the sun slowly rose, and Kevin glanced at the pocket watch he had specially bought. The time was just right, and the training was over. He quickly left and returned to his dormitory by the same route.

People have started to wake up one after another.

Kevin simply yanked the blankets off Ron and Harry.

"Harry, Ron, if you don't get up soon, you'll miss breakfast and be late for Transfiguration class."

Kevin pulled the two out of bed and got them to wash up. They then went to the auditorium for breakfast, where many early-rising students had already arrived.

Good morning, Hermione.

Kevin immediately spotted Hermione eating breakfast alone at the Gryffindor table.

"Good morning, Kevin, and Harry, Ron. I thought you weren't coming for breakfast," Hermione greeted them listlessly.

"If Kevin hadn't woken us up, we probably wouldn't have come." Harry still looked a little sleepy, having gone to bed too late the night before.

"Hermione, did you prepare for your Transfiguration class this morning?" Kevin asked, noticing that Hermione seemed a little unhappy.

"certainly."

When it comes to studying, Hermione, who was originally listless, immediately became interested.

Then Kevin raised some questions and had a heated discussion with Hermione.

With an IQ of 20, he seems to be a little smarter than Hermione. His questions stumped Hermione, but she didn't give up. She shared her views and learned from Kevin.

Harry and Ron exchanged a glance, clearly not understanding their conversation at all, and could only bury their heads in their food.

After breakfast, the four of them went to the Transformation Classroom together.

People were starting to arrive, and Hermione and Kevin both noticed the tabby cat on the podium.

Hermione's cat-loving nature has awakened, and she keeps praising how cute the cat is.

Kevin knew that the cat was Professor McGonagall in disguise, and after thinking for a long time, he didn't dare to use "cute" to describe it, so he just said it was good-looking.

The cat seemed to be smiling.

Harry and Ron had long since given up on joining the conversation, and after entering the classroom, they each found a seat and sat down on their own.

Kevin, however, shamelessly sat down next to Hermione.

Hermione clearly didn't mind, and even chatted enthusiastically with Kevin about Transfiguration lessons. It has to be said that Hermione has a lot of knowledge, having read many books that Kevin hadn't.

Hermione enthusiastically shared a lot of what she had read in the book with her roommates yesterday, but they didn't seem interested. Some even thought Hermione was showing off her knowledge.

Hermione was certainly aware of her roommates' thoughts, and felt a little sad. She just wanted to get along with them, but her methods were not welcomed by them.

This morning I came here alone to eat breakfast, not sitting with my roommates.

Kevin's appearance was a big surprise to her. This boy seemed to like learning as much as she did, and he even asked her many questions that she hadn't understood before.

Moreover, I didn't find talking to Hermione non-stop tiring at all; it was the first time someone had been willing to chat with me for so long.

Kevin: Just kidding, how could I get tired listening to such an adorable cat like Hercules talk?

Soon it was time for class, and Hermione wisely shut up, saying that the professor was coming soon and they could talk later.

As expected of Hermione, a top student, her attitude was quite proper.

However, the professor had actually arrived much earlier.

Because of Kevin, Harry and Ron were not late this time. As soon as class started, the tabby cat on the podium jumped down and suddenly transformed into human form.

"Wow!" The children in the audience exclaimed in surprise.

"Everyone's here, so let's begin the class."

Professor McGonagall had clearly heard this kind of exclamation many times before, and went straight into the first Transfiguration lesson.

Professor McGonagall tapped the blackboard, signaling everyone to open their textbooks.

"Transfiguration is a very dangerous class. You must listen carefully and follow my instructions. You must not wave your wands without permission. Otherwise, you will not be able to attend Transfiguration classes in the future."

Professor McGonagall stood on the podium and spoke very seriously.

Then Professor McGonagall waved her wand, and a match appeared in front of each person.

"Now, I will explain the key points of the basic Transfiguration. Your task for the next week is to learn how to turn this match into a silver needle. If you do it well and quickly, you can earn points for your academy."

Then Professor McGonagall had everyone pick up their textbooks and began explaining some points about Transfiguration.

It's simply a matter of how to pronounce the spell, what tone or emotion to use, and how to wave the wand.

"Alright, everyone pick up your wands now and follow my instructions. Try to turn a match into a silver needle, just as I just taught you."

Kevin said he had mastered all the knowledge points, and this would be his first time using magic. He then seriously picked up his wand and cast a spell.

Try your best to visualize the shape of the silver needle in your mind, its structure, and its components.

Feel the magic flowing within you.

Transform!

The match in front of Kevin lit up and turned into an ordinary silver needle, though it seemed a little too thick.

"Wow, Kevin, you did it!" Hermione exclaimed in surprise.

Professor McGonagall also came over and picked up the silver needles that Kevin had conjured.

"Very good child, you have great talent."

"Although there are still some minor flaws, your transformation has indeed been successful. With a little more effort and by controlling your magic and concentration, this silver needle will become even more perfect."

"Five points for Gryffindor!"

The Gryffindor children cheered.

"Thank you, Professor. I will try my best."

Kevin held this kind professor in high esteem.

Professor McGonagall smiled, put down the silver needles, and continued to inspect the other students.

Hermione slowly leaned closer and asked Kevin the secret to his success with a look of eager curiosity.

"Um... when you're chanting the incantation, concentrate and imagine what you want to become."

The spellcasting process was too superstitious, and Kevin didn't know how to explain it for a while.

"The appearance, structure, and even composition of silver needles... are roughly like this..."

Hermione looked thoughtful, raised her wand, and pondered for a while as she lit a match.

change!

The match twitched, but nothing changed.

Hermione looked at Kevin helplessly.

"Don't be discouraged. You must believe that you can succeed. Magic is a process of imagination."

With Kevin's encouragement, Hermione occasionally offered a few words of guidance based on her intuition.

Finally, Hermione turned the match into a small silver stick.

"At least things have changed..." Kevin said.

Hermione clearly accepted this fact; she was the second person to make the match change. Professor McGonagall also came up to give some guidance, proving that professionals are indeed different.

This statement succinctly points out that Hermione has too many distractions and isn't concentrating; she's too eager to succeed and too afraid of failure.

The saying goes, "Haste makes waste."

Kevin offered a word of comfort, saying that together they would work hard and that they had already taken the first step.

Hermione immediately perked up, and unwilling to admit defeat, she continued to challenge the silver stick in front of her.

Kevin continued to refine his acupuncture needles, and by the end of the class, they were finally functioning normally, indistinguishable from ordinary acupuncture needles.

Hermione's silver staff finally took on the shape of a needle.

In contrast, the others couldn't even transform.

They were both top students.

Hermione also earned 5 points for Gryffindor.
