Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?
Chapter 202 The Conflict Between Dumbledore and Grindelwald
Just as Kevin and his companions alighted from their carriage and began their journey towards Hogwarts Castle in the Night Horse carriage.
In the headmaster's office at Hogwarts, Dumbledore tossed a copy of the American Magic Daily onto the table and said to the person in front of him with dissatisfaction.
"Gellert, how do you plan to explain this?"
[The Saints Return!! Several Muggles Attacked! Grindelwald is Back!]
Dumbledore was quite pleased to receive news from Kevin and the others a couple of days ago; they had made some progress with the Horcruxes.
Seeing this news today completely ruined his good mood.
The newspaper was reporting on events in the United States, not the British Daily Prophet.
Since Grindelwald appeared and gave speeches throughout Europe during the last holiday, his followers have followed his instructions, leading a group of wizards to sever ties with Muggle society and spread this idea far and wide.
So this period has been relatively peaceful, without any unexpected incidents, and the magic associations of various countries have also relaxed a lot.
However, just a few days ago, a Saints organization suddenly attacked people in the United States, openly appearing in the Muggle community to assault Muggles.
They also spread extreme statements about the ugliness of Muggles and the need to eradicate them completely.
But that wasn't the end of it. Similar incidents subsequently occurred in other European countries such as Germany and France.
"I don't know, Albus, I've never given them any orders."
On the other side, sitting at the table was Grindelwald, whom we hadn't seen in a long time.
At this moment, Grindelwald looked completely innocent, still fiddling with Dumbledore's wand in his hand.
"I've been right under your nose all this time, how could you not know what I've done?"
He shrugged and said that, then tried to wave Dumbledore's wand. The wand didn't obey him as it had decades ago, but it was still easy to use.
With a wave of his wand, a pure white flower appeared out of thin air in Grindelwald's hand.
"Look, I've conjured up a flower for you, will that calm you down?"
Grindelwald said with a laugh.
Dumbledore rolled his eyes, reluctantly accepted the flower, and sat back down.
"So what are you planning to do? You were the one who gathered these people in the first place, and now they're causing trouble again."
"The International Magic Association is in an uproar right now, everyone is on high alert, and they've even sent me a letter asking for help."
Now, across Europe, except for Britain itself which has Voldemort as its great villain, other countries have experienced varying degrees of disturbances related to saints.
They all appeared around the same time, as if they had planned it in advance.
"No, no, no, they are not my people."
"A pathetic creature who only preys on the weak is not worthy of being my saint."
Grindelwald said with a look of utter disdain.
"You've become arrogant."
Dumbledore, standing to the side, said speechlessly.
Grindelwald shrugged noncommittally; he was indeed quite proud.
"Albus, after I left Nurmengard, I gathered a group of saints for a short period of time. Those people were converted from Voldemort's Death Eaters."
"Then I spread them throughout Europe to spread the word and to organize that gathering."
"You know what happened next. I dealt a heavy blow to the Death Eaters' forces for you, and you haven't properly thanked me yet."
As he spoke, Grindelwald sat up straight, and as if in a fit of pique, snatched back the flowers he had just given to Dumbledore.
Dumbledore: "..."
"After the assembly, at your request, I disbanded the saints, so in fact, they are no longer under my jurisdiction."
"So I think this incident was either done by someone impersonating me."
"Or perhaps those saints didn't expect me to disband them so soon, so they became dissatisfied, misinterpreted my speech at the meeting, created this incident, and pinned it on me, trying to force me to go back."
"Or perhaps, both possibilities exist."
After retrieving the flowers, Grindelwald continued.
After listening to Grindelwald's speech, Dumbledore pondered for a moment. Indeed, Gellert had been by his side for the past six months, so he certainly wouldn't do such a thing.
"I understand. I'll talk to the people in the association. You'd better behave yourself for a while."
"cut!"
Grindelwald pursed his lips and did not respond to Dumbledore's request.
"Don't think I don't know you came to school to get close to Kevin."
"The reason I'm letting you into the school is because I still trust you. I've told you before, if you dare to touch Kevin, I will never forgive you again."
Seeing Grindelwald's attitude, Dumbledore continued to speak righteously.
However, this statement only made Grindelwald angrier.
"Kevin? You only think highly of him because you want to eliminate Voldemort."
"He's just a brat, what can he do for you? Let me kill him, fulfill my unbreakable vow, and I can still help you destroy Voldemort!"
"If we join forces, who in all of Europe can rival us?"
"If you want to usher in an era of peace, I can help you!"
"Even if you want me to seek atonement from Aberforth, or even from Ariana, I'll agree to it!"
Grindelwald stood up, placed his hands on the table, and looked directly at Dumbledore, speaking loudly.
Faced with Grindelwald's sudden emotional outburst, Dumbledore remained silent for a moment.
"Albus, I only have a few years left..."
"In the past, I so wished I could join hands with you and create a great cause together."
"Now, although I have changed, my final wish remains the same."
Grindelwald stared intently into Dumbledore's eyes, and even after fifty years, his gaze remained as bright and captivating as it had been back then.
In the end, it was Dumbledore who was the first to give in, averting his gaze, lowering his head and sighing.
Grindelwald straightened up, calmed himself down, and tossed Dumbledore's wand back to him.
"Albus, I will never break my promise to you."
After leaving those words, Grindelwald turned and left the principal's office.
After leaving the house, he reached out and wiped his face.
Soon his body changed. The most obvious change was that his pale hair became shinier and eventually turned into a head of flowing silver-white hair.
Dumbledore remained silent for a long time as he watched Grindelwald's departing figure.
Recalling Gellert's journey from his departure from Nurmengard to the present day.
Then she thought about Gellert's undisguised outburst of emotions and all the precautions she had taken against him.
Finally, he opened the drawer of his desk and took out a roll of special parchment.
After much deliberation, Dumbledore finally sighed, waved his hand, and set the parchment ablaze.
As the parchment burned away bit by bit, the magical contract on it also disappeared.
The only remaining visible words were the name signed in the lower right corner of the parchment.
Oath taker: Gellert Grindelwald.
