Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?
Chapter 2 Diagon Alley
The next day arrived quickly.
Yesterday, Professor McGonagall answered many of Kevin and Dean Hope's questions, and then arranged to take them to buy the items needed for the start of the school year today.
Don't worry about the money, you can take out a loan.
After breakfast, Dean Hope took Kevin to the agreed location, the Leaky Cauldron.
However, it seems Dean Hope cannot see the bar.
"Dean, the bar is over there," Kevin said, pointing to the location of the bar.
"Where? I can't see it." Even with Kevin pointing in the direction, Hopes still couldn't see where the bar was.
This bar is definitely something special, daring to open on the street like this. It must have been enchanted with some kind of spell, a confusion spell? A Muggle expulsion spell?
Kevin pulled the dean directly to the front of the bar.
It was only then that Dean Hope saw the bar in front of him.
"Oh my god, my presbyopia might be getting worse..." The dean sighed as he looked at the bar that had suddenly appeared in front of him.
The two entered the bar, where many people were coming and going. Seeing an elderly Muggle man with a child of about ten years old, and considering the time of day, they probably guessed that the child was a new student at Hogwarts.
Professor McGonagall had been waiting at the bar for a long time. When she saw the two of them come in, she came over to meet them and led them to the back alley.
"Mr. Kevin, this is the entrance to Diagon Alley. Please look carefully and remember how to get in."
Professor McGonagall picked up her wand and spoke to Kevin.
Then he tapped the red brick wall in front of him a few times at specific locations.
The next moment the wall changed, rotating continuously, and slowly transformed into a small archway.
Welcome to Diagon Alley.
Dean Hope watched this series of actions in astonishment from behind, exclaiming that it was good to be alive and to witness amazing things.
Kevin had long admired the scene before him, carefully observing Diagon Alley. It was larger than in the movies, with all sorts of quirky shops. He could now understand the English he couldn't understand in the movies before; this was a completely different experience.
When Kevin stepped into Diagon Alley, the system, which had been dormant for 11 years, suddenly came back to life.
[Ding! Detection indicates the host has officially entered the wizarding world. Panel unlocked, magic unsealed.]
Professor McGonagall, who was walking ahead, seemed to sense something and turned to look at Kevin.
"Child, don't be afraid. This is the world of wizards, and you will become a part of it in the future."
Professor McGonagall sensed a sudden surge of dormant magic within Kevin and assumed that the boy had been frightened by the unexpected scene, causing his magic to go out of control.
When the system beeped, Kevin felt that the magic power he had been unable to mobilize was now available. At first, it leaked out uncontrollably, but it quickly stabilized.
"Thank you, Professor. I feel much better."
Although Kevin knew that Professor McGonagall had misunderstood him, he didn't explain, feeling it fit his naive and unsophisticated persona.
"Oh, it seems you have a good grasp of your magic."
Professor McGonagall was pleased to see Kevin recover from the riot so quickly; perhaps he was going to be a gifted child.
Kevin then continued to follow Professor McGonagall, while Dean Hope looked around like a child.
Their first destination was Gringotts, the wizarding world's bank.
They need to use their acceptance letters to apply for loans so they can buy the items they need.
On the way, Kevin examined the system panel.
Name: Kevin
Attributes (average 10 for normal adults)
Physical condition: 15 (11 years old this year, afraid of school bullying)
Magic Power: 7 (much higher than other wizards his age)
Intelligence: 10 (Extraordinary IQ)
Inventory: None
Available attribute points: 0
Yes, this system is very sophisticated.
Kevin thought so.
Soon the group arrived at Gringotts, a white building that looked much like the one in the movie from his previous life. Looking at it brought back many memories of Kevin's past life.
After a while, Harry Potter will probably come here to reclaim his parents' inheritance.
Kevin expressed his envy.
Envious of people who don't have parents? I certainly don't!
Professor McGonagall took out Kevin's acceptance letter and handed it to the fairy in charge, who quickly secured a student loan.
Weighing the cloth bag in his hand, he was burdened with loans at such a young age. To be honest, he had no concept of money. Orphans don't need money. They eat and live with the orphanage.
Professor McGonagall asked Dean Hope to take Kevin to order school uniforms, buy wands, and first-year textbooks.
She then went to prepare some other things for Kevin.
After saying that, Professor McGonagall and Kevin went their separate ways.
"Let's go, Dean, let's go order the school uniforms first."
Kevin, being rather outgoing, led the way. Although he didn't know where the shop that made school uniforms was, there was only one road, so he figured he could find it soon.
Custom-made school uniforms are nothing special, unless Mrs. Malkin compliments Kevin on his good looks.
The two then arrived at Ollivander's wand shop, which was said to be a wand-making shop with a history of over a thousand years.
Pushing open the rustic glass and wooden door, a bell rang out.
Several strange noises came from inside the store, and soon a sprightly old man with white hair came out.
"Hello, shopkeeper. I'm a new student at Hogwarts this year and I'd like to buy my own wand here."
Kevin looked at the old man in front of him and said politely.
"Oh, of course, child. Every little wizard should have his own wand."
"Come, let me see." The old man came to Kevin and carefully examined the boy in front of him.
"Brother Jay, no... cough, no, okay, sir." Kevin's mind went blank, and long-buried memories resurfaced, making him want to slap himself.
Ollivander and Dean Hope looked at Kevin with strange eyes, making him so embarrassed that he dug out a three-bedroom apartment with his foot.
"Um, sir, I'm right-handed," Kevin had to say again to divert their attention.
"Oh...yes, oh, right hand, yes...I see...uh, take a look."
After examining it for a while, Ollivander finally showed his professionalism, immediately pulling out a box from the mountain of wand boxes and handing it to Kevin.
"I think this would be perfect for your child. The staff is made of red sandalwood from the East, ten and a tenth of an inch thick, and the core is made of phoenix feathers."
A smooth and powerful combination. Come on, give it a try.
Kevin took the wand; it felt smooth to the touch, yet also had a solid feel to it.
Kevin waved his hand lightly, and a ball of magical light floated around him.
"Very good, very good, it seems this wand is perfect for you."
"A sincere offer of 10 Galleons."
As Kevin walked out of the wand shop, he held his wand, which would become his future companion.
After searching for a while, the two finally found the bookstore where they bought the textbooks, and discovered that Professor McGonagall was already waiting for them.
Perhaps they didn't know the way and took a while to find it.
"Child, these are for you."
Professor McGonagall pointed to the things on the side: a rather conspicuous crucible, several large and small bags containing items needed by the college, and an owl, which was also a gift for him.
"Thank you, Professor McGonagall," Kevin said, looking at the items and expressing his gratitude to Professor McGonagall.
Professor McGonagall is a professor who loves her students very much. Although she can be strict at times, it's all for the students' benefit.
"You're welcome, child. I hope you will become an excellent young wizard at Hogwarts in the future."
Professor McGonagall didn't ask Kevin to pay for these things. She really liked this well-behaved and sensible child. He must have suffered a lot to be so sensible after growing up in an orphanage.
Professor McGonagall patted Kevin's head with a loving but slightly tender gesture.
Kevin could roughly guess what Professor McGonagall was thinking, but he was still very grateful to her for showing such concern for a child he had only met once. She truly deserved to be the Vice-Headmaster of Hogwarts.
Finally, Professor McGonagall helped Kevin pick out his first-year textbooks and bought him a few reference books about the wizarding world and Hogwarts.
After buying everything, it was time to say goodbye.
"School starts on September 1st. The day before school starts, an owl will deliver your train ticket and some instructions. The next day, you can take your luggage to the train station and find the express train to Hogwarts."
I look forward to seeing you again, my child. Remember to read some reference books about the wizarding world and Hogwarts; it will be of great help to you.
Finally, Professor McGonagall patted Kevin on the head, then turned and disappeared into the bustling crowds of Diagon Alley.
Kevin also returned to the orphanage with Dean Hope, looking forward to the start of the story.
