In a daze, Kevin heard an electronic voice in his mind.

But Kevin's mind was a complete mess; he couldn't even think straight. He was instinctively flailing his limbs, his mouth agape, when...

"Wow!! Wow!! Wow...!!"

On a dimly lit English street, in front of the gate of an orphanage, the cry of a baby rang out.

......

Eleven years have passed in the blink of an eye.

Early in the morning at the orphanage, 11-year-old Kevin got up early as usual to exercise. He jogged slowly along the orphanage wall, lap after lap, for about two or three kilometers.

After running the last lap, Kevin stopped and slowly walked another lap, just as the orphanage director's voice rang out.

"Kevin, breakfast is ready. Come back, wash up, and have some breakfast."

The dean was a kind old man. Kevin only knew that the dean's name was Hopes. He never mentioned his surname. He usually wore a black and white robe and a hat, like an unconventional priest.

"Okay, Grandpa Dean!"

Kevin responded and jogged back.

Upon entering the restroom, Kevin looked at his younger self in the mirror: his slightly sharp bangs, deep black eyes, and adorable little face. Even though he saw it every day, he couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

It has been 11 years since I transmigrated to this world.

In his previous life, Kevin watched six Harry Potter movies in one weekend on a friend's recommendation.

Because it was filmed more than a decade ago, the technology at that time was probably insufficient, and Kevin was confused by many of the plot points and techniques. Moreover, there were likely cuts, especially the outrageous romantic scenes, which made his blood pressure soar.

Just as I was about to continue watching the seventh movie, Kevin suddenly died.

Then I was transported to the world of the Harry Potter movies. Yes, the system said so as soon as I was transported.

He was an orphan without any household registration. The story begins at the gate of the orphanage, where he was taken in by the director. He had a sign around his neck with the name "Kevin" on the front and "1980-7-11" on the back, which should be his birthday.

So in this life, he is naturally called Kevin, just two characters, without a surname. The dean didn't give him a surname either, thinking Kevin was a good name.

As Kevin grew older, he quickly became familiar with language and began to learn about the world from books and adults.

It's roughly the same world as my previous life, but I haven't been able to find out anything about magic. I don't know if it's because the wizarding world is good at keeping secrets, or if the world's will is preventing him from getting in touch with it beforehand.

He also tried to sense if there was any strange energy or magic in his body. He did have a wonderful feeling, but he couldn't control it. He couldn't even release the magic to make a sudden burst of energy, as if he was locked up.

In the end, he had no choice but to give up. Things would work themselves out. From the moment he could control his young body well, Kevin trained every day and read all sorts of books.

Since he couldn't get early access to magic, he naturally wouldn't do nothing. Although magic was the only mainstream medium in this world, he also believed that a healthy and strong body, along with various kinds of knowledge, would allow him to navigate the magical world more carefully, as if... walking on thin ice!

Of course, sometimes when the dean went out to buy supplies, Kevin would go along to see 20th-century England.

It's nothing special after watching it.

Today, July 11, 1991, he is officially 11 years old, the age when he can enroll in Hogwarts.

"Kevin! Dinner's ready!"

"Here you are."

......

After breakfast, Kevin went to the dean's office as usual, picked up a book from his bookshelf, and read it. The dean's hobby was reading, so he had a bunch of strange and wonderful books.

Sometimes this book may not be of any help to Kevin, but he will still read it to the end because he wants to develop good reading skills.

There was nothing he could do; the system had been dead for 11 years, and he dared not place all his hopes on it.

Now that he's transmigrated, how could he possibly settle for an ordinary life?

He wanted to see this magnificent magical world for himself.

Kevin was just about to start reading when he suddenly heard a few knocks on the window of the dean's office.

Kevin looked up and saw an owl with a yellow letter in its beak.

Kevin's eyes lit up. He was only 11 years old today, and a letter from Hogwarts had already arrived?

He went to the window, and as soon as he opened it, the owl flapped its wings a few times and flew onto the desk, putting down the letter in its beak.

Kevin looked at the letter, which had a college emblem printed on it, featuring four animals: a lion, a snake, a badger, and an eagle.

It seems there's no doubt about it; it really is a letter from Hogwarts.

Kevin picked up the letter with one hand and casually stroked the owl with the other, enjoying the soft, fluffy feathers.

Open the letter.

[To Kevin...]

Kevin skimmed through it and finished reading quickly. The gist of it was that you have been invited to enroll at Hogwarts and a professor will be visiting your home that evening.

After reading the letter, he released the owl and immediately went to Dean Hope to discuss the matter.

Unsurprisingly, the dean also looked surprised and said he would accompany him to meet the Hogwarts professor that evening.

Kevin got excited for a moment, then continued reading in the morning and exercising in the afternoon.

After dinner, instead of going for a run, he sat in the orphanage hall, quietly waiting for a Hogwarts professor to come for a home visit.

Dean Hope was also with Kevin, and the two chatted casually about magic. It was clear that the dean was also encountering this kind of thing for the first time, and he seemed quite curious.

At 8 o'clock, there was a knock on the gate of the orphanage. The director immediately went out, while Kevin stood in the hall looking outside. He saw a very elegant and tall woman.

Professor McGonagall.

Kevin immediately recalled his memories of watching movies in his past life.

Good evening, Mr. Kevin.

Professor McGonagall entered the orphanage with the director and greeted Kevin, who was standing at the door, in a friendly manner.

"Good evening, Professor." Kevin nodded politely in return.

Professor McGonagall looked at the well-behaved and composed little boy with loving eyes.

Children in orphanages may have some degree of psychological problems, which may manifest in their impulsive, rude, hyperactive, or depressed behavior. Children like Kevin are rare.

"Mr. Kevin, I believe you have read the letter from this morning and know the purpose of my visit, as well as the information about Hogwarts. However, I will still reiterate it to you so that you and Mr. Hopes can have a clearer understanding of matters concerning the magic academy."

After Professor McGonagall greeted Kevin, she followed the dean to his office, where they sat down and began their formal conversation.

She introduced the history and background of Hogwarts to Kevin and Dean Hope, and also gave a brief introduction to the wizarding world.

Although he had some knowledge of it from movies in his previous life, having a real Hogwarts professor introduce it to him felt very different. Kevin listened intently and was filled with longing.

This is the expression of a normal Muggle child.

However, Kevin's longing stems from his weariness with the unchanging routine of his previous life and his yearning for a new adventure.
