The next day.

John got up early and went to the Great Hall with his friends for breakfast.

Today is the last day before the holiday; after that, I can go home.

He had arranged to go to the library with Hermione today.

However, while he was still eating, Hermione rushed in from outside and immediately looked for John.

Then he rushed to John's side.

"John, something's happened."

John was eating and didn't notice Hermione's arrival when she suddenly moved closer to him and said something nervously.

"What's wrong?"

John and the others were taken aback when they saw Hermione's appearance.

"Voldemort has made a move; Mr. Weasley was attacked last night."

Hermione lowered her voice and spoke to them.

"I don't know the specifics either; Professor McGonagall told me after I ran into her this morning."

"Harry, Ron, and the other Weasley kids were all sent to the Order of the Phoenix last night."

Everyone was quite surprised to hear Hermione's words.

I didn't expect it to happen so suddenly.

Just the day before, they were enjoying their school life, chatting and laughing.

Today, we are thrust into the eve of a brutal war.

Voldemort made his move, and although he only attacked one person, it meant that Voldemort had lost his patience, or rather, that he had decided to truly declare war.

Yesterday it was Mr. Weasley who was attacked, who will it be today? And who will it be tomorrow?

These questions instantly made Titus and his companions feel a chill in their hearts.

Ryan remembered his mother's instructions, but he didn't take them seriously.

Titus thought of his parents, who also worked for the Order of the Phoenix, and worried that they might be attacked one day.

Ethan, on the other hand, worried that their little home would be destroyed because of Voldemort.

John, on the other hand, was more interested in the details of the matter.

Voldemort must have had a reason for making his move at this time.

He put down his breakfast and slowly got up.

"I want to go to the principal and ask him what happened."

"Okay, John. The principal must be busy with this right now. Would it bother him if we went now?"

Titus, standing to the side, asked with some concern.

"You're overthinking it."

"The headmaster may worry about Mr. Weasley's safety, but he will not panic just because Mr. Weasley was attacked."

"As an old monster who has lived for hundreds of years, he is revered as the greatest wizard of the 20th century. He has encountered all kinds of storms and waves."

"I reckon he might even be in the mood for breakfast."

John waved his hand dismissively and said.

Hermione agreed that it made sense.

She was initially worried that asking too many questions might affect the principal's judgment.

Calling the principal an "old monster" seems rather impolite...

"Then I'll go too."

Hermione stood up and said.

John didn't refuse, but told Titus and the others to go about their business and that he would share what he found out with them.

Soon, the two arrived at the outside of the principal's office.

The principal's office door was open.

You can hear Dumbledore talking to someone.

"Okay, I understand."

The two peeked in from outside the door and saw Dumbledore standing in front of a portrait, as if he had just finished saying something, and then turned to look at the two outside the door.

"You two, come in."

Dumbledore knew why they had come, so he didn't exchange many pleasantries and sat back down at his desk.

On his desk sat a silver incense burner that John recognized—the very one he used to probe souls.

I don't know why the principal brought him out.

"You've come to inquire about Arthur, haven't you? He's out of danger, so you don't need to worry."

They had barely sat down when Dumbledore spoke slowly.

The two looked at each other, both relieved, but that wasn't their main problem.

"What I'm more interested in is how Voldemort attacked Mr. Weasley."

Since they were both intelligent people, John didn't stand on ceremony and went straight to the point.

"It wasn't Voldemort who attacked Arthur, it was the snake beside him."

"The snake infiltrated the Ministry of Magic and attacked Arthur, who was on duty in the Department of Mysteries."

He didn't hide anything from John and spoke slowly.

"Isn't Mr. Weasley in charge of Muggle misuse? What's he doing on duty at the Department of Mysteries?"

Upon hearing this answer, John asked curiously.

"Do you remember when one of us got arrested for attempting to break into the Department of Mysteries?"

"I know what Voldemort wants, which is why I sent someone to be on duty at the Department of Mysteries."

Hearing this, Hermione couldn't help but ask, "What does Voldemort want?"

"It was just a prophecy that drove him to do evil..."

When Dumbledore said this, he didn't seem to care much about what Voldemort wanted.

"Is that prophecy important?" John asked.

"unimportant."

"But at least Voldemort thinks it's important, and that's enough."

Dumbledore remained calm, but John couldn't stand it anymore and couldn't help but complain.

"No, Principal, could you please stop being so enigmatic and just explain yourself clearly?"

Dumbledore: "..."

He had painstakingly crafted a profound and serious plan, only to have it all ruined by John's sudden outburst.

He wanted John to take Voldemort's matter more seriously, so he deliberately made it sound mysterious and cryptic.

Judging from the results, he did take it seriously.

But I think I got a little angry with him.

Seeing this, he could only shake his head helplessly and laugh.

"Okay, okay, don't be nervous, it's not as serious as you think."

"Do you remember last summer, John, when you came to the Order of the Phoenix, you and Alastor went to destroy a Death Eater gathering?"

"Then we found out from their minds what they wanted to steal from the Ministry of Magic."

Seeing that John was getting impatient, Dumbledore had no choice but to explain the whole story.

"At the time, I roughly guessed what they were looking for—a prophetic orb about him—so I arranged for someone to be on duty to protect it."

"I knew about that prophecy more than a decade ago, so it's not important to us."

"But Voldemort only knew half of it, so he really wanted to hear the other half."

"All I did was send people over there to stop Voldemort."

"As the saying goes, the more the enemy wants something, the less we should let him have it."

"Of course, the obstruction wasn't because the glass ball was that important; it was simply to disrupt his rhythm, waste his energy, and delay his development."

This explains why Mr. Weasley ended up at the Department of Mysteries and was then attacked by Voldemort's snake.

It was to prevent Voldemort from finding a glass ball that was of little use to them.

John, of course, wouldn't say that Mr. Weasley had gotten himself into trouble for nothing.

After all, this is indeed a tactic.

Moreover, from the moment they joined the Order of the Phoenix and began working for it, they were already prepared for a sudden downfall.

First Stoddill was controlled by the Dementor Curse, now it's Mr. Weasley who's being attacked.

They were all just unlucky guys who happened to run into Voldemort's gun while on a mission.

It is believed that they resolutely chose to carry out the mission after understanding its dangers.
