Hogwarts: A little lion in the skin of the Eagle School
Chapter 13 Spells Lesson
Why would someone say John is dishonest if they don't distinguish between schools?
After learning that he had magical talent, he stayed at home for a year, his mind filled with curiosity to explore this magical world.
As a seasoned RPG player in his previous life, John knew that some events only refreshed at night.
Therefore, he was very motivated to go out exploring at night.
"Oh, this..."
Ryan and Ethan exchanged a glance, surprised that John was so reckless, trying to break school rules on his very first day of school.
Seeing their hesitation, John stood up and looked down at them.
In Ryan and Ethan's eyes, John stood under the light, so brightly that they couldn't open their eyes.
"Have you forgotten our vows of eternal love? We promised to be a night-tripping team for life!"
Huh? Did we just make any vows of eternal love?
Ryan and Ethan looked completely bewildered.
But John seemed to stand on a moral high ground, making them afraid to look him in the eye and unable to utter a word of rebuttal.
Just as they were hesitating, their dormitory door was suddenly pushed open.
The person who came in was Robert, the prefect, who looked annoyed: "Didn't I say before that lights out and we should go to bed at 10 o'clock? The students upstairs complained to me that you two have been chatting non-stop. What's going on with you two?!"
Ryan and Ethan were startled by Robert's sudden entrance and quickly stood up, saying, "No, no, we..."
"Can't you all learn from this student and go to bed early? You have class tomorrow!"
Robert interrupted Ryan and Ethan, pointing to John, who was already 'sleeping peacefully,' and said to them.
What the fu**?
The two were stunned. John, who had just been morally blackmailing them, was now lying on the bed, looking peacefully asleep.
"No, prefect, it's him..."
"No, it's nothing, go to sleep."
After saying that, Robert closed the door, leaving the two of them staring at each other in bewilderment.
"..."
Ryan and Ethan walked to John's bedside, veins bulging on their foreheads, their lips twitching slightly, staring intently at John.
John, who looked serene, didn't open his eyes, but sweat was already beading on his forehead.
Critical
"John!!"
As the two roared, a series of chaotic crackling sounds rang out.
John was dragged off the bed, one of them grabbing his throat and the other his leg, choking him until his eyes almost rolled back.
However, before the two could teach John a lesson, a loud "bang" rang out as Prefect Robert, his face darkening, kicked open their door.
"I'm totally passed out!!"
With three flashes of blue light, Ravenclaw's dormitory finally returned to tranquility.
......
The next morning, John stretched. He had slept really well last night, but why were the three of them asleep on the floor?
One person was his pillow, and another was his footrest; this roommate was quite nice.
I glanced at the time; it was exactly seven o'clock. After washing up and having breakfast, I could go to my 8 a.m. class.
"Get up, you two."
After John got up, he woke Ryan and Ethan, who were also groggy and didn't know why they were sleeping on the floor.
However, after hearing John's urging, they didn't think much of it and went to the washroom to wash up.
After that, we took today's textbooks and headed to the Great Hall of the People for breakfast.
Following the senior students who also started school at 8 a.m., they didn't take the spiral staircase route, but instead took a safer one, which helped John and the others learn some more routes.
Good morning, Sister Luna.
When we arrived at the Great Hall for breakfast, Luna happened to be there too, so John led his two roommates to sit next to her.
Good morning, John.
John briefly introduced Luna to his two roommates before they started eating breakfast.
The food at Hogwarts is all made by house-elves.
Before meals, they would set the food on the tables in the Great Hall and let the young wizards choose whatever they wanted, somewhat like a buffet.
Titus also came over, specifically to chat with John.
The relationship between Eagle School and Badger School is fairly good. Titus often crosses tables with other students, and the chubby boy is quite popular. Even though he's here, he still chats happily with Ryan and the other person.
Their first class today is Charms, which is being taught together by both Eagle Union and Badger House.
After breakfast, John and the others said goodbye to Luna and prepared to go to the Charms classroom together.
On the way, we also ran into Neville, who was following behind his friends; he was probably there for breakfast too.
He recognized one of them; it was Harry Potter, whom he had met briefly in Diagon Alley. However, judging from his appearance, he probably didn't remember John.
Good morning, senior Nawei.
As John passed by, he greeted Neville. Titus, Ryan, and Ethan, who were beside him, heard John's greeting and, although they didn't recognize who it was, they all called out in return.
Neville also saw John and was about to respond when he was startled by the loud, synchronized greetings from John's three companions.
This was the first time he had been addressed as "senior" by so many people at the same time. He was a little flustered and replied with "good morning" before stopping. Harry and the others who were traveling with him also looked over curiously.
I saw the four junior students greet Neville and then leave in a hurry.
Harry noticed that one of the people's backs looked somewhat familiar.
"Hey, Neville, when did you become so popular among the freshmen?"
Neville's good friend Seamus nudged his belly and asked curiously.
"They're just people I met on the train yesterday, I've already told you about them."
Neville waved his hand, somewhat bewildered, and said...
"You mean the guy who dared to pounce on a Dementor?" Seamus said with a look of surprise.
"Yes, it's the junior who's in charge, his name is John."
Neville nodded; he had told his friends about his experience on the train yesterday.
However, Harry said that he was attacked by Dementors yesterday and fainted, but fortunately Professor Lupin saved him, just like John.
"Alright, let's go. We still have to go to our fortune-telling class after we finish eating."
Unable to bear everyone's stares, Neville quickly pushed them to continue walking towards the synagogue.
......
Spells class.
Professor Flitwick stood atop a tall stack of books.
There are two rows of long tables and chairs on each side of the classroom, which is more than enough to accommodate students from both colleges.
After Professor Flitwick gave a brief self-introduction and introduced himself to everyone, they began the first lesson.
"Alright children, open 'Elementary Standard Spells' and turn to page two."
"Today, in our first lesson, we will learn about the uses and methods of using the Levitation Charm."
"This is one of the most basic spells that we, as wizards, need to master."
Professor Flitwick's tone of voice was not static, but fluctuated according to the content he was lecturing on.
During his explanation, he casually waved his wand, and the books piled up beside the podium flew up, demonstrating the levitation spell to everyone.
"Did anyone notice that I missed a step when I cast the Levitation Charm just now?"
After demonstrating the Levitation Charm, Professor Flitwick asked the students below.
"The step of reciting incantations has been omitted."
Ryan raised his hand to answer.
"That's right, that's right. I was talking to you all while I was casting the Levitation spell."
"Spells play a crucial role in our casting of magic, but they are not essential."
"Spells are merely techniques to assist in casting spells. They can help wizards better mobilize their own magical power to complete the casting of spells."
"But if we have enough proficiency in a certain magic, then we can still cast spells even if we don't chant incantations or even drop our wands."
As Professor Flitwick spoke, he tapped each of the students in the room with his wand, and with each tap, the textbooks in front of them floated up and fell back down.
I didn't hear Professor Flitwick recite any spells throughout, and his gestures when waving his wand were incorrect, or rather, he didn't wave it at all.
The students were all amazed by Professor Flitwick's performance.
"Therefore, I have set a learning goal for you this year, which is to learn how to cast the levitation spell silently before the end of the semester."
Professor Flitwick said with a smile.
Whether or not it can be done is irrelevant; let's just decide first and then talk about it later.
