A top star in the Chinese entertainment industry, but also a Taoist priest.

Chapter 22: [Please Read Further] Brother, Sister, are you here to film a movie?

After having their tickets checked, the mother and daughter followed the flow of people into the scenic area. As soon as they entered the gate, Shen Yujie couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

The entire Qingming Riverside Scene scenic area seems to have come alive.

The streets were lined with Song Dynasty-style banners and lanterns, and people were coming and going on the bluestone pavement. Many tourists were wearing rented Song Dynasty clothes and walking by, waving round fans in a very professional manner.

Along the roadside, NPCs dressed as merchants from the Song Dynasty were selling candied hawthorns and pastries, while a street performer was performing fire-breathing on a street corner, drawing cheers from the crowd.

The sound of string and wind instruments drifted from the direction of the Rainbow Bridge in the distance, and a group of dancers dressed in Song Dynasty costumes could be vaguely seen dancing gracefully on the bridge.

"It's so lively!" Mrs. Shen was also caught up in the atmosphere, looking around curiously.

The mother and daughter strolled slowly along the main street. Shen Yujie looked around as she walked, feeling a mix of anticipation and nervousness.

She didn't really know what she wanted to see; she just felt that since she had come to Hengdian, there should be something there.

Unfortunately, after walking for quite a while, all I saw were tourists and NPCs; there wasn't a single celebrity in sight.

Shen Yujie sighed inwardly but didn't say anything.

When they reached the vicinity of Dasongfang, Mama Shen suddenly stopped.

On the street corner, there's a traditional costume experience store. Several rows of Song Dynasty costumes of various colors hang at the entrance, for both men and women, some simple and elegant, others luxurious. Inside the window, there are also several exquisite Song Dynasty court costumes, so beautiful that it's hard to look away when the lights are on.

"Oh, this looks great!" Mrs. Shen stood at the shop entrance, her eyes lighting up.

She reached out and touched a jacket embroidered with peonies hanging by the door, then turned to look at Shen Yujie:

"Yujie, what do you think of this color?"

Shen Yujie glanced at it and nodded perfunctorily, "It looks good."

"This one is nice too..." Mrs. Shen picked up another moon-white one and held it up in front of her.

The shop assistant, with sharp eyes, immediately came out to greet them, smiling broadly as they began their introduction:

"Sir, you have excellent taste! This is a new style in our store. It's made of mulberry silk, and it's incredibly comfortable to wear. Would you like to try it on? The fitting room is inside."

Ms. Shen was intrigued by what she heard and looked at Shen Yujie again.

Shen Yujie stood at the door for a while, while her mother was still inside discussing with the shop assistant which outfit would make her skin look fairer, showing no sign of leaving.

She leaned against the doorframe, listlessly gazing out at the street. Her gaze drifted aimlessly across the street before settling on something else.

Not far away, two people were walking slowly along the riverbank near the Rainbow Bridge.

Shen Yujie blinked, making sure she wasn't seeing things.

It was a young man dressed in a purple Taoist robe, his posture upright like a pine tree, his black hair tied into a neat Taoist bun with a wooden hairpin. Sunlight shone from the side, illuminating his profile, making his features so refined that he seemed to have stepped out of an ancient painting.

He was accompanied by a young woman with short hair and wearing a cardigan. She was looking up at him and talking to him, her eyes crinkling with laughter.

"This is so beautiful..." Shen Yujie couldn't help but mutter to herself.

Her first thought was: This must be a film crew shooting a movie.

But upon closer inspection, there were no cameras, no stagehands, and no staff holding reflectors around.

The two of them stood by the roadside chatting, with tourists walking around them; it didn't look like they were filming at all.

This isn't a movie shoot! It's real people strolling around a tourist attraction.

Shen Yujie's eyes lit up immediately.

Her wish to come to Hengdian came true. Although she didn't run into the entire film crew, she did run into the actors!

Moreover, although she couldn't recall the actor's name, judging from his demeanor and appearance, he was definitely an actor.

She glanced quickly at the man in the Taoist robe again.

The more you look at it, the better it looks.

He's not the kind of handsome male lead in idol dramas; he's more like... uniquely handsome. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what's so special about him, but he's the kind of handsome that stands out immediately in a crowd.

Shen Yujie's heart skipped a beat, but her expression calmed down; she only slightly raised the corners of her mouth before quickly suppressing it again.

She turned around and peeked into the store. Shen's mother was admiring a bright red jacket, and the shop assistant said, "This will definitely make you look fairer." The two were chatting enthusiastically and showed no sign of ending their conversation anytime soon.

"Mom, I'm going to buy something over there." Shen Yujie pointed to the other side of the street.

"Okay, don't go too far! Come back quickly after you're done shopping!" Mrs. Shen didn't even look up; her attention was entirely on the clothes.

"Okay."

Shen Yujie's voice was incredibly sweet.

She turned and walked out of the store, the obedient expression on her face vanishing the moment her back was turned to her mother.

His eyes narrowed slightly, like a cat that had its eyes on its target.

Who exactly is that guy in the Taoist robe? She's definitely never seen that face on TV before, otherwise she would remember him.

Is she a newcomer? Or is she filming a drama that hasn't aired yet?

If it's a newcomer...

Shen Yujie slowed her pace and walked unhurriedly across the street. Instead of rushing over directly, she took a small detour and approached from the side, observing as she went.

She looks even better up close; her skin is fair, and the lines of her profile flow seamlessly from her cheekbone to her chin, as if drawn with a pen.

It's confirmed, this face is definitely going to be famous.

Shen Yujie made up her mind.

She adjusted her expression, slightly raised the corners of her mouth, widened her eyes a little, put on a well-behaved and harmless smile again, and then walked over quickly.

"Master, what do you usually do at the temple? Do you just meditate all day?"

Jin Chen walked to Chen Shouyi's left, asking questions as they went.

"Meditation is only one part of it," Chen Shouyi replied casually.

"What else is there? Chanting scriptures? Practicing martial arts?"

"Yes, we have them all."

"Can you please stop being so stingy with your words?" Jin Chen said, somewhat disgruntled. "It's not like saying a few more words costs anything."

"able."

"...You did this on purpose, didn't you?"

Chen Shouyi smiled but didn't reply.

There were fewer people near the Rainbow Bridge than on the main street, and the wind blowing across the river carried a damp coolness.

The faint sounds of traditional Chinese string and wind instruments drifted from the distant scenic area, mingling with the noise of tourists, creating a scene reminiscent of the bustling marketplace of the Song Dynasty.

Jin Chen leaned closer again: "Daoist Master, that guiding exercise you mentioned yesterday, is it really effective? I've been feeling a bit stiff in my shoulders lately, can I practice that too?"

"Can."

"Then teach me."

"I'll have Shouzhuo teach you later."

"Why let Shouzhuo teach? Can't you teach me yourself?"

"This humble Taoist priest is rather expensive."

"How much is it? Daoist Master, could you please give me a number?"

Chen Shouyi responded half-heartedly, his gaze sweeping over the surrounding Song-style buildings.

He had seen the Rainbow Bridge, Fanlou, and Bian River many times in TV dramas, but this was his first time experiencing them in person. The scenic area was indeed well-designed, with lanterns, signs, and stone-paved roads along the streets that truly captured the essence of Bianliang in the Northern Song Dynasty.

Just as Jin Chen was asking him, "Daoist, have you ever been in a relationship before?", a system notification suddenly sounded in Chen Shouyi's mind.

Chen Shouyi's eyebrows twitched slightly.

Before he could think about it, he caught a glimpse of a figure jogging over from the side.

She's a little girl.

She wore a ponytail, a white shirt, and denim shorts. Her skin was so white it was almost translucent. Her features hadn't fully developed yet, but she had a very good foundation, and her eyes and brows exuded a clean and bright spirit.

She ran up to the two of them, her breath slightly unsteady, but her smile remained steady, sweet, and harmless.

Then she raised her head, her gaze lingered on Chen Shouyi for a moment, and then looked at Jin Chen beside her.

"Brother, and this sister—" Her voice was clear and sweet, with a hint of shyness, "Are you filming here?"
