Chapter 12 The Pulsating Pustule
Logan pulled out the bottle of CBD painkillers and handed it to Sean: "Here, these are painkillers I bought from Yezi's specialty store. They're not addictive. Here, have some."
"good……"
Sean took the CBD tablets, poured out a few, and gave them to Jonah with the purified water stored in the tent.
Twenty minutes later, Jonah's movements became less violent, and he became much more sober.
[You used a pain reliever, and Jonah's stomach pain has been relieved, but only temporarily. To completely resolve his stomach pain tonight...]

To completely resolve tonight's stomach pain, I naturally need to eat something.
"But by then it was almost 7:30, and the free food had either all been taken or the stalls had closed up shop, so it was impossible to get any food for free."
Logan rubbed the remaining $15 in his pocket, wondering whether he should spend it to buy something to eat.
After sleeping, the food he ate during the day had been completely digested, and his stomach was now somewhat empty.
And perhaps because he was overworked today, he felt like he couldn't muster any energy.
"Hopefully, this time the stats will favor the benevolent father, and I'll receive a similar constitutional upgrade."
"I can start working and earning a salary tomorrow, so there's no need to cherish today's little bit of money."
He pulled out $15, waved it, and said:
"Come on, Sean, grab Jonah, I'll treat you to dinner."
"No...no need, boss, I can bear with it." Jonah was still trying to save face, seemingly not wanting him to spend money.
"Enough talk, let's go!"
Seeing that there was no room for discussion, Sean had no choice but to support the reluctant Jonah and follow behind him.
With $15, it's impossible to go out to eat, but there are plenty of supermarkets in America that sell ready-made meals that are cheap and plentiful.
They arrived at a Costco supermarket, where there happened to be no security guards at the entrance, so they wouldn't stop the homeless. As soon as they entered, they headed straight for the deli section.
Choose a steaming hot, signature Costco roasted chicken; it's enough for three adults for just $4.99. Grab a bag of $3 burritos, a large bunch of $3.5 bananas, and a large bottle of juice for $3.5.
There's still 1 cent left!
The three of them excitedly took the selected items to the counter to pay, only to hear bad news.
"What! Why do we need a membership card?!" Sean was very puzzled.
"This has always been the case at our Costco," the cashier explained expressionlessly.
"Hey! How do you treat your customers? You didn't even have someone at the door to remind them."
The aroma of the food reignited Jonah's fighting spirit.
"The security guard was at the entrance the whole time, but he went to the restroom when you came in."
The cashier pointed outside, and the three of them looked in that direction. There stood a security guard who looked as fat as a filthy wretch, panting heavily. One could imagine how difficult it must have been for him to go to the toilet.
"Okay, here's the deal: if you're going to be lenient with us, we won't report the security guards for dereliction of duty."
Logan wanted to talk to the cashier, but the cashier acted as if it was none of his business.
"His negligence is his problem, but making an exception is my problem," the cashier replied.
Damn!
The three were somewhat at a loss. Sean and Jonah exchanged a glance and decided to buy it for free. Since they were unwilling to make an exception, they might as well skip the process altogether. After all, it was only $15 worth of stuff, and the police wouldn't bother to arrest them.
Logan sighed and decided to try a different supermarket.
Just as he turned around and saw Sean making strange gestures, a clear female voice rang in his ears:
"Logan! Good evening!"
The voice wasn't very familiar, but it wasn't completely unfamiliar either; it seemed like I had just heard it that morning.
Turning my head, I saw it was Claire, the cashier at the Emerald Leaf store.
"Good evening, Claire. You're here to shop too?" Logan greeted her politely.
Despite having only met once, Claire always exuded an inexplicable enthusiasm for some reason.
The kind of eyes that sparkle like stars.
"Yes, I'm here to buy some groceries. Are you here too?" Claire asked, her eyes fixed on Logan's face.
"Ah... I came to buy cooked food, but I didn't expect that I needed a membership card here." Logan felt a little uncomfortable being stared at.
"Hey! Use mine then!"
Claire stepped forward, slapped her membership card on the counter, and said, "He's my friend, can he use my card?"
The cashier remained expressionless, simply nodding and saying, "Okay."
After paying, Sean Jonah consciously took the food and walked a few steps ahead, leaving space for them.
Logan then solemnly thanked the girl who had offered her help: "I owe you a favor. If you ever need anything in the future, feel free to ask me for help."
"It's just a small favor, nothing important. Just pay more attention to me in the future..."
Claire's last sentence was so faint that Logan didn't hear it clearly.
"What did you say?"
"Ah...it's nothing. I was just saying, from now on we're colleagues, please take care of me."
Claire spoke clearly this time, but Logan still felt something was off.
It was as if he hadn't caught anything hidden.
"Okay, I will."
The two then said their goodbyes. Logan went to find his two henchmen without looking back, while Claire stood there, watching him leave, secretly stamping her foot in regret for her cowardice.
"Claire, you're such a coward! You can't even get their contact information. You'll regret it if those bitches beat you to it..."
Logan first went to the laundromat to get his clothes, and then followed his two underlings back to the tent area.
Inside Sean's tent, they laid out a relatively clean tablecloth and placed all the food on it.
Seeing the two staring at each other, Logan gave the order: "What are you staring at? Eat!"
Spread out a burrito, roll it up with torn pieces of grilled chicken, and squeeze on some of their treasured ketchup and salad dressing—and a sumptuous dinner is just like that.
"Boss, is that girl your friend?" Jonah asked, chewing on a chicken roll, his words slightly muffled.
"Hmm...I guess so." Logan didn't know how to answer, after all, they had only met twice.
Upon hearing this answer, Jonah and Shawn exchanged a glance and each revealed a maternal smile.
"Boss, you should still be single. This girl only has eyes for you," Sean said, taking a sip of juice.
"Hmm... I guess you could say I'm single." Logan still didn't know how to answer. The original owner of this body had been kicked out of the house by his wife, but in his memory, the two had not yet signed a divorce agreement.
Single and not divorced?
"What else is there to say, boss? Go for it! She has a great figure and a pretty face..." Jonah had already eaten three chicken wraps, and the stomach pain had completely disappeared.
"Really? Let's talk about it another time."
Logan tried to recall Claire's appearance, but he didn't have a clear memory of her; his mind was entirely focused on the mission.
Hopefully, this mission will bring a good reward.
Seeing that he wasn't interested, the two of them stopped talking and focused on finishing their dinner.
[Mission Completed: Waaagh...]
You managed to get a good meal, which completely relieved Jonah's stomachache.
