Elegy from Another World
Chapter 273 Iron Tomb Stardust, Awaiting the Dawn
Paleroco's remains tumbled in the crimson cascade of destruction. The beams were no longer sporadic attacks, but converged into a raging torrent of energy that eroded everything in its path. Each hit was accompanied by the groans of the metal structure and flashes of internal explosion. Outer armor plates shattered, melted, and scattered, exposing the battered mainframe and energy conduits crackling with electrical sparks. The shockwaves violently rocked the bridge, and the thick smoke and steam created a suffocating atmosphere.
The lights flickered wildly. The main screen was filled with noise, and the red and black malfunction area on the ship model expanded rapidly. The energy shield had long since disappeared.
"Distance from preset coordinates... Entering final orbit correction!" the navigation operator hoarsely said, "Concept coverage force field... 97%... 98%...!" Sweat dripped down his face.
"Everyone! Prepare to receive the shock backlash!" The silver-haired scholar stared intently at the energy readings on the verge of collapse.
The commander stood like a black sculpture. His visor reflected the red glow of the explosion. His hands gripped the cold control panel, his focus fixed on the coordinates. His lips were pressed tightly together, like a steel blade.
The distance decreased. The crimson light surged even more frenziedly and densely. Several repair beams, like the tentacles of a giant beast, wrapped around and adhered to the front of Paleroco, while the reverse energy flow was like a noose pulling backward!
"One hundred percent!!" The voice trembled with relief.
The commander pressed the termination button with a heavy hammer.
"Ultimate command confirmed. Overwrite and release, start!"
A strange, deep hum emanated from the core. A pure halo, condensing the initial essence of "existence," exploded from the core's abdomen! Instantly filling space, it expanded wildly, exceeding the speed of light!
The core moment is frozen in time: the operator's finger hovers; the flying debris freezes; the red alarm light freezes; the scholar's gaze is sealed; the commander's back becomes an amber mark.
As the halo swept across the edge, absolute "stagnation" descended! The antivirus program became a scarlet crystal sculpture; the repair beam was like an ice-frozen limb; fragments floated; shockwaves imprinted... The light tide surging from the exit became a frozen relief wall.
The amber of hope is taking shape!
however--
A silver light, icy and capable of freezing souls and stripping away chaos, condensed in the deep space behind the "Guardian," like a judgment command from the primordial process! Its target was precise and ruthless—the origin of Paleroco's core eruption!
The speed of the silver light surpassed the spacetime expansion of the halo, seemingly "defining" the outcome of the hit directly. The space at the core point slightly collapsed and folded.
*Sizzle—Crack!*
The sound of logic collapsing and shattering exploded at the edge of solidification!
The spear of judgment pierced through the pure halo and penetrated the core origin!
The balance has been broken!
The covering force field bursts like a bubble! The internal spacetime distortion forces go out of control! The "Logic Annihilation Storm" erupts from the point of rupture! Forced initialization and fatal error correction at the rule level go berserk!
Paleroco, like a fragile model injected with the "anti-existence" instruction, collapsed with a bang against the backdrop of crimson solidification!
A silent and devastating destruction: the ship's hull was cleaved in two by an invisible blade of law. The keel snapped, the main frame torn apart inch by inch. The engine bays, energy core, and hive-like drone launch matrix collapsed, transforming into a silver-red ring of destruction that swept across deep space! The frozen battlefield was devoured and shattered, the solidified "Guardians" crumbling and scattering like sandcastles!
The amber of hope has turned into a deathly ring!
At the core of the destructive storm, a tiny remnant (core data storage or escape unit) encased in a robust logical shell was "launched" at an eerie angle by the terrifying repulsive force of the annihilation storm, plunging into the unrepaired crack of the "exit"! Like dust of fate, it vanished with a faint trace of its existence into the depths of the "upper" radiance...
Larger and more massive wreckage pieces were pushed towards the edge of the battlefield by the repulsive force of the storm, tumbling and burning before plunging into the depths of the metal graveyard, a mass of ancient war debris (cold ships, fragments, and defunct platforms). The impacts caused the floating debris to move and collide, stirring up clouds of deathly dust.
At the epicenter of the explosion, only conceptual nothingness remained. The commander's presence signal was completely annihilated.
On the outskirts of the battlefield, the crimson light surged briefly before efficiently reforming. The remaining "Guardians" surged towards the exit. The Fortress Matrix illuminated with a vast, orderly white light. This light, like an eraser, covered the distorted and damaged layers of the cosmic structure. The chaotic data streams were organized, and the "boundary" barriers, like fabric stitched together, stretched, and smoothed, became solid. The cracks at the exit were mended, restoring a smooth, cold, and impenetrable wall.
The repaired light dimmed, and the edge of Sector B7 returned to deathly silence. The background was a crimson sky. Floating molten metal spheres, charred fragments, and smooth, cold walls symbolizing severed roads. In the distance, the dust and mist from the metal graveyard caused by the impact of the Paleroco wreckage silently spoke of war.
On a few fragments of the Paleroco structure that weren't completely destroyed, the remaining Free Guards gathered. They witnessed the repair of the exit, the annihilation of their commander, and the raging storm. The channel was deathly silent, with only a static crackling sound.
"The technology... must not fall into their hands," the surviving engineer whispered breathlessly, gazing at the massive wreckage of the mainframe.
A chilling determination pervaded the air.
Operation Survivor Freedom Guard. Piloting engineering vessels, personally dragging energy bombs and detonating devices. Utilizing wrecked energy pipelines and flammable structures. Flying towards the mainframe region that records the abstract engine, concept modifier, and save/load generator principles.
Silent explosions continued to erupt. Incandescent white and crimson orbs of light bloomed amidst the ruins of Paleroco. The keel shattered, the core melted through, and the data crystal array crumbled into dust. The final command was executed: utterly destroy Paleroco and erase all traces of its technology.
The explosions were like a funeral salute. When the largest part of the ship's structure exploded in a chain reaction, disintegrating into a massive cloud of dust, it was all over.
The exhausted survivors of the Freedom Guard, silently lingering in the void, cling to a stable metal platform. Sensors are fixedly focused on the smooth, cold, imprisoning wall.
Looking at the perfect wall.
Looking at the newly lit, scarlet dots of light from the scan.
Watching the distant ruins, which he had personally destroyed, rise into clouds of deathly dust.
The tiny debris signal from the exit point? It has long been completely annihilated.
A pervasive cold and silence.
The silence was broken.
A deep voice resounded, originating from the deepest resonance of the consciousness of all survivors. Cold as the depths of winter, yet burning as intensely as a star, it ignited an indomitable spirit:
"Rather than become a heartless puppet..." (pointing to the boundless crimson killing intent)
"Let's continue fighting..." (Cutting off any escape route)
"Until the very last moment!" (A resolute declaration that shattered the silence)
"Perhaps we will all die a gruesome death..." (Open and honest)
"But at least," (as inscribed on a tombstone).
"Loyal steel will be our grave!" (The platform and wreckage form a cemetery)
"Let hope" (pierce through the wall and shine into the future)
"To be our eternal, silent epitaph!" (Declaring our existence)
A brief pause to accumulate supernova power:
"One day..."
"A glimmer of hope,"
"They will examine our remains..."
"Let those," (the will pierce the root.)
"Bastard," (extreme anger and contempt)
"I understand—" (A roar that gives its all)
"We will never yield!"
"We will never yield!!!!"
The roar reverberated through the desolate star field, like a shockwave branding the bottom structure of the cage.
With a declaration of burning souls, the Freedom Guard, in their final moments, activated the metal platform, launching all weapon thrusters. The target was the nearest crimson dot! Metal floating islands became blades and hammers, the fading flames of weapons a mournful cry of charge! Each flash of explosion echoed the inscription on their souls: "We will never yield!"
The charge converges on the cold wall, converges on the crimson tide...
In the distance, amidst the dust cloud of the final remains of the destroyed Paleroco, the oldest, now fragmented core logic devices and databases float and collide, silently awaiting their fate.
Waiting for time and cosmic rays to turn it into stardust.
And we're waiting...
A faint glimmer of hope, in the distant future, pierced through the confinement and shone upon this silent grave built of "steel" and "unyielding will"...
