Elegy from Another World

Chapter 256 The Consolation of the Celebration

Forging an alliance with J-311 World was like attaching a slender yet sturdy anchor chain to the Dresden in the turbulent waters. In the following days, we refocused our main efforts on in-depth research into the miniature galaxy debris, attempting to unearth more clues about the whereabouts of Scranton from that magnificent ruin.

That day, Sakozon's cool voice came through the communicator: "Lyssia, there's a party on the Starship, wanna come?"

"Another party?" I frowned as I looked at a set of abnormal spatial curvature data.

"Celebrating the complete restoration of the Dresden and the new round of upgrades completed by the Stars using the Nameless Ark technology," Sarkozyn explained. "It's a belated celebration; last time you and Edsys were busy at J-311 World."

(Party! Liscia, let's go!) Jasmine cheered immediately in my mind; she had been nagging about missing the last party.

I chuckled and put down the data panel: "Okay, the data can't be solved anytime soon anyway, go relax for a bit."

Stepping aboard the Stars again felt different. The space station's interior structure had been optimized, making it feel more spacious and bright. Some public areas cleverly utilized the cloaking materials from the Nameless Ark, creating a mysterious and ethereal beauty. The party atmosphere was even more lively than last time, with cheerful music and the aroma of food filling the air. Various fun game booths were packed with people, and the virtual reality experience area had long queues.

I played a few rounds of the simulated shooting game with Jasmine, and watching her shout and get excited in my mind made me feel much more relaxed. After looking around, I didn't see Noriljoon's conspicuous metallic body, so I found Mia Leili, who was coordinating the activities, and asked, "Mia, where are Noriljoon and Kawi? And Naa is nowhere to be seen either."

Mia Leili flapped her little wings and smiled helplessly: "They, along with Kahamodo and that robot 'Annoying,' have gone back to the tech world to play games again. They said they absolutely can't miss that new dungeon raid."

I chuckled to myself; that's definitely Norrelljohn's style. "Fine, let them have their fun."

"Oh, by the way, Liscia," Mia Leili winked mysteriously, "there's a performance later, and Zoe Mem and I have prepared a show, so you'd better watch it!"

"Oh? You've prepared a performance? I'll definitely come and support you." I agreed with great interest.

At this moment, Jijue Lian and Xilei Weibing also came over. Xilei Weibing had changed into a neat stage outfit, and her short blue hair was particularly eye-catching. She said to me with a hint of reproach, "Lizia, why didn't you come to my concert on the Starship last time? I prepared for it for a long time."

Then I remembered that Sakhozon had indeed mentioned it before, and I quickly explained apologetically, "Sorry, sorry, I was busy negotiating with the angels and demons at the time, and I really couldn't get away."

Shire Vibing sighed, "Alright, you're right. But Jijue Lian and I also have a new program this time, you can't miss it again!"

"Definitely, definitely!" I quickly assured her, then solemnly said to her, "Also, last time on the Derek, thanks to your timely arrival. Thank you."

Shire Vibing waved his hand, and Jijue Lian's tentacles swayed gently, indicating that there was no need to be polite. The tacit understanding of fighting side by side did not require many words.

After accompanying Jasmine through several virtual attractions, the lights on the central stage suddenly focused, and the performance began!

First to appear were Mia Reilly and Zoimem. Accompanied by stirring, oriental-sounding music, Zoimem let out a clear dragon's roar, and the massive dragon soared into the air, gracefully gliding above the stage! Mia Reilly danced around her like an elf, her hands scattering points of light that cleverly connected to form a lifelike "dragon tendon" of light and shadow! Zoimem moved in sync with the rhythm of the music, sometimes circling, sometimes soaring, driving the light dragon up and down, creating a spectacular "electric dragon dance"! Brilliant magical fireworks exploded around the stage at opportune moments, pushing the atmosphere to a climax. After the performance, Mia Reilly and a fully healed, radiant Zoimem made a heart shape with their hands towards the audience, shouting in unison, "We love you, everyone!" The audience erupted in thunderous applause and cheers.

Next, Shire Vibing and Jijue Lian took the stage. The stage lights turned a dreamlike, deep blue. Shire Vibing stood in the center; her voice was no longer simply loud, but ethereal with a hint of huskiness, as if telling the story of an interstellar traveler's loneliness and romance. This time, Jijue Lian didn't play any complex instruments. His tentacles moved gently, emitting a distant and rhythmic hum, like the background noise of deep space, sometimes simulating the grandeur of a swirling nebula, sometimes transforming into the subtle sound of a shooting star, perfectly complementing Shire's singing. Even more wondrously, some of Jijue Lian's tentacles emitted a soft bioluminescence, tracing dreamlike light trails in the air with the rhythm of the music, like a silent visual symphony. Their performance wasn't as passionate as the former, but it possessed a tranquil power that struck the soul, leading the audience into a vast and mysterious cosmic reverie.

The applause continued for a long time after the performance ended. Jasmine excitedly exclaimed in my heart: (That was amazing! Sister Xilei sang so beautifully! And Jijuelian's light was so pretty!)

Watching my friends take their final bows on stage, and seeing the cheering residents below, my heart was filled with warmth. These joyful sounds, these wonderful performances, are precisely what we've fought so hard to survive and hope to protect. Although the road ahead remains unknown, the peace and happiness of this moment are enough to soothe any weary soul.
