Chapter 10: The Heavy Armor is Actually an Oyster Shell

The flames generated by the high-pressure pyruvate fuel mixture raged among the cockroach swarms. The extremely high temperature could melt almost any material. The hot melt gun, which could be used to cut through bulkheads or armor, was no joke.

The cockroaches' shells, which could withstand ordinary bullets and lasers, had now become sealed furnaces and tombs. Heat seeped in through their thick armor, and almost every cockroach was burned to death, wrapped under its own skin.

Just like grilled oysters come with their own grill and bowl.

"Surround him!"

Rhodes immediately made a decision: use the cockroaches to hold off the Chaos Space Marine in front of him, and let the Zerglings deal with the other rebels around him.

If this Chaos Space Marine were to break through the blockade and join up with the remaining Chaos Cultist rebels outside, he would definitely be in deep trouble.

Swarms of cockroaches surrounded them from all directions. Even though the hot melt gun could cook the target in front of it every time it fired, the two-meter-tall corpse became a physical obstacle.

The Chaos Space Marine standing amidst the pile of cockroach corpses remained silent, uttering no words or shouts, yet his molten lava gun and chainsaw sword never ceased their attacks.

The gun spewed out huge tongues of fire, roasting the alien insects until they smelled burnt, then the chainsaw sword was used to cleave them in half, clearing a path for them to advance.

In the distance, giant queen insects reappeared in the sky, slowly flying towards the battlefield. Streams of gray slime were expelled from their huge abdominal cavities, forming suspended waterfalls of fungal carpet in the air.

Due to an unexpected situation, Rhodes had no choice but to transfer almost all of the forces from the hive.

Below the Queen, hundreds of springtails rushed over, stepping on the fungal carpet laid out by the Queen.

On the fungal carpet, the alien insects can use these thick microbial aggregates to migrate around in a near-gliding manner, which also allows the already agile jumping insects to reach an almost terrifying speed.

In just a few dozen seconds, the Zerglings arrived around the anti-aircraft guns. Their massive adrenaline glands kept them in a state of perpetual high excitement, and they pounced on the remaining Chaos Cultists.

"Come on, come on, my little darlings!" A Chaos cultist laughed obsessively at the swarm of insects attacking him, the chainsaw sword in his hand humming, its serrated teeth coated with hallucinogenic toxins that could stimulate the senses.

His heart was filled with a fervent faith in his god, the Prince of Pleasure, which endowed him with senses and agility far beyond those of ordinary people.

The chainsaw in his hand swiftly severed the foreleg of a jumping insect, and unidentified blood splattered onto his face.

Based on his past experience, the enemy in front of him should immediately lose his balance, fall to the ground, curl up in a ball due to the intense pain caused by the poison, or be stunned by the scene he dreamed of.

But he was met with a sharp pain in his arm.

Without the slightest hesitation, the leaping insect whose forepaws had been severed opened its mouth and bit down hard on his wrist, which was holding the chainsaw sword.

The moment he was bitten, his heightened senses, blessed by the Prince of Pleasure, amplified the excruciating pain several times over, causing his face to contort and turn an unnatural red.

"You! How dare you!"

He frantically kicked the springtail away from his hand, but the springtail's teeth tore a horrible wound in his hand as well.

Several more springtails swarmed at him, and he could only endure the excruciating pain and continue wielding his chainsaw sword.

However, the Lord of Pleasure's blessing, the poison that could bring his enemies the ultimate pleasure and pain, was completely ineffective at this moment. No matter how many holes he made in these insects, as long as they could still move, their claws and teeth would attack him.

As Zerg, whether it's the Zerg or the Terran, they have one thing in common.

No low-level Zergling has the concept of pain or pleasure, which means that the toxins that can bring down countless tenacious warriors are nothing more than liquid, no different from water, to these Zerglings.

After plunging his chainsaw into a leaping insect, he was pounced on from behind by another leaping insect, which slammed him onto the cold alloy floor. The insect's scythe-like forelimbs pierced through both of his arms.

He struggled to get up from the ground, but the excruciating pain prevented him from moving. The scene before him began to blur, and the once dreamlike world began to lose its color and gradually dimmed.

One by one, the other rebels around him were torn apart by the Zerg. Hearing their screams, he suddenly realized that the sound was no longer the moving melody he used to hear, but a series of desperate wails.

"No...this is impossible...this is impossible..."

He muttered to himself, his gradually unfocused pupils filled with disbelief.

"Lord of Pleasure...why do you not answer me...?"

His consciousness finally froze on the moment a jumping insect leaped up from the ground and pounced on him.

"What a bunch of lunatics!" Rhodes breathed a sigh of relief. The Zerglings had finally dealt with the rebels around the anti-aircraft guns, but he could also clearly see the reactions of the Slaanesh cultists in the Zerglings' eyes, each one more perverted than the last.

There was even one eating a live leaping insect's leg; if he kept watching, Rod didn't know if he could maintain his mental state.

There's still one tough nut to crack.

Rhodes turned his attention to the only remaining battlefield around the anti-aircraft gun, to the Chaos Space Marine tearing through the cockroach encirclement.

The once tight encirclement had shrunk considerably, leaving only a dozen or so cockroaches on the battlefield, and the air was filled with the smell of burnt meat.

Surrounded by cockroaches, the canned chaos remained silent, continuing to use a hot melter to roast the cockroaches alive.

The modified purple power armor had several scratches and signs of corrosion, and some of the gems that were originally inlaid on it were missing. But these were just like scratches on the paint of a car. Although they looked intimidating, they did not affect the Chaos Space Marine's combat ability in the slightest.

Another burst of flame swept across the surrounding cockroaches, roasting the cockroaches that were spitting green acid, causing them to scream in agony, and killing two more of the already few remaining cockroaches.

Just as the Space Marine was about to break through the cockroach encirclement, once he dealt with the remaining cockroaches, the remaining Zerglings would be futile, and a fire would be enough to cook many of them.

The Chaos Space Marine nodded slightly. So far, these were all pretty good ways to relax and de-stress. Whether it was the screams of those Tyranid-like creatures before they died or their gradually decreasing numbers, they made him very happy and satisfied, even if this pleasure was just an appetizer for him.

These creatures are either heavily armored and slow-moving, making them easy targets for being roasted alive, or their bodies are so fragile that a simple swing of a chainsaw sword can slice them in half. A number of a hundred or so poses no threat whatsoever.

The sound of a sharp weapon slicing through the air came from the gap in the encirclement behind him, originating from within the gene seed. His superhuman fighting instincts and experience made him instinctively dodge to the side, but a spine containing spiritual energy still struck the purple power armor, piercing through his right shoulder.

The corrosive acid kept eroding his flesh, forcing the wounds that should have healed quickly to close more slowly.
