Erii: A Journey Through the Heavens Begins with Frilian

Chapter 6 Erii Wants to Become a Sparrow

The bathtub, made of wood and mud, was small and a bit bumpy, but Erii drifted off to sleep listening to the nocturnal symphony of birdsong and insect chirps outside the window, and occasionally a gust of wind rustled the leaves.

Half-asleep, she vaguely saw a helpless-looking Philon pull her out of the water, and like a caring mother hen, use a towel to dry her off and put on her pajamas.

Then, Erii was pulled onto the bed and completely immersed in her first dream in the other world.

"Ms. Frilian, Ms. Erii, it's time to get up! We agreed to leave at eight o'clock, and it's almost nine now!" Philon's complaining voice rang out from inside the house.

Erii sat up and opened her eyes to see Frilian's thunderous sleeping posture.

The thousand-year-old elf, who was usually aloof and somewhat arrogant, was lying on the ground with his upper body on the bed and his lower body draped over the bed, with his bedding kicked to the corner of the bed.

Her arms and legs were spread wide apart in an extremely arrogant manner, exposing large areas of her fair and jade-like skin to the air. However, coupled with her drowsy and adorable sleeping face and the drool dribbling from the corner of her mouth, she managed to refrain from arousing any impure thoughts.

Erii was immediately charmed by this unexpected contrast.

She tiptoed off the bed, squatted down in front of Frilian's head, and, under Philon's puzzled gaze, reached out and pinched Frilian's pointed ears.

It feels warm, soft, and resilient to the touch; with a little pressure, the edges blush a delicate pink.

Hehe~ I wanted to touch it the moment I saw it yesterday~

"Huh?" Philon was dumbfounded. "Isn't this a bad idea?"

"It feels great, do you want to try it?" Erii muttered.

Philon hesitated for a moment, then, as if possessed, reached out his sinful right hand towards Frillie, grabbed her, and instantly... *rub*

The elf's ears were extremely sensitive, and they began to tremble wildly as the two continued to stroke them.

"Waaaaah~ What are you doing!"

Frillie suddenly sat up, covered her ears, and squinted at the two of them.

"Get up, we should get going." Philon's expression changed instantly, and he reverted to his serious and proper demeanor.

……

After having breakfast, the three bid farewell to the villagers and left.

Eileen's father drove a freight wagon to take them to the main road on the hillside outside.

Inside the bicycle shed, Erii was eating dried fruit that Erin had given her, while the master and apprentice opposite her were examining and working with their cameras.

Before leaving, Erii took a group photo.

The magical "image-preserving gadget" that didn't require the use of magic immediately piqued the curiosity of the two magicians.

"How strange," Frillian murmured to herself, "Why don't the magical tools in your hometown need magical power to operate?"

After a preliminary understanding, Erii learned about the importance of magic to this world.

To put it simply, it's like electrical energy.

Magic has replaced the Earth's electricity, and magical tools are like electrical appliances.

In daily life, it provides energy for lamps to emit light; in battle, the wand serves as a medium for magical output; or the briefcase that Frillian carries with her is a storage-type magical tool with an internal space much larger than its own volume.

All magical tools require essential magical power, which is the product of fantasy that turns the impossible into the possible.

This is also why the master and apprentice were so skeptical of the camera.

"I'm starting to get curious about your hometown. I definitely want to visit it sometime." Frilian handed the camera back to Erii.

"Mmm," Erii nodded kindly, "Where are we going?"

Frillie thought for a moment, "See my friend, Aize."

"A dwarf warrior in the hero's team?" Erii immediately filled with anticipation.

The elves saw it, so how could the dwarves, who only exist in fantasy works, miss it!

"Have a safe trip, and remember to come again!"

Eileen's father's farewell was blown away by the wind.

Of the three, perhaps only Erii is truly considering when they will meet again.

But for Frillie, who is almost immortal, many times a farewell means never seeing each other again in this lifetime.

In particular, the elves are very slow to perceive time and emotions. Once they venture into the deep mountains and forests, a hundred years can pass in the blink of an eye, and their former human friends have turned to dust.

As for Philon, she had followed Frilian for many years and knew Frilian's style and personality, often spending months or even a year on a small matter.

That's how it went on, and little Philon grew taller than Frilian.

If things continue at Frillian's pace, by the time they meet again, Eileen will probably be a grandmother.

a few days later.

The clear water gurgles and splashes beside the stream in the woods.

Three fragrant girls sat under a tree, each munching on a dry wheat bread.

Erii tore off a small piece and fed it to the little sparrow hopping around her feet.

Before long, more sparrows chirped and circled around, and Erii's eyes crinkled with delight at the sight of these cute and clever little creatures.

She simply crumpled up a large piece of bread in her hand and scattered it out.

Philon didn't scold her, but broke off half of her bread and handed it to Erii, saying, "I'm on a diet lately."

Erii gladly accepted.

But seeing that she was about to feed the sparrows again, Philon puffed out her cheeks and scolded, "Miss Erii!"

"I envy them so much. I want to be a sparrow too," Erii murmured to herself.

This inexplicable envy drew a puzzled look from Frilian.

"Why?" Philon asked.

"It can fly around, has many friends and family, and is very cute and lovable." Erii squatted down, her knees touching her chin, and stroked the head of one of the sparrows with her fingers.

The next second, Erii felt a warm sensation covering her head, and heard the rustling sound of her hands rubbing against her hair.

Philon gently patted Erii's head and said softly, "Eri is very cute and lovable. Frilian and I are your friends."

Her expression was calm, not as if she were offering comfort, but rather stating a fact.

As Frilian watched this scene, the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up slightly, and she then reached out and patted Philon's head from the side.

"You seem to have grown up. Hmm, no wonder I raised you." She said with a hint of pride.

"I'm not a child anymore, I'm sixteen!" Philon pouted.

This deliberate rebuttal immediately revealed the girl's childishness.

Frilian - Philon - Erii - Sparrow.

The sparrows dared not move a muscle!

Is it some kind of mysterious religious ritual resembling a human centipede?

After the meal.

"We'll be passing through Granz, where we can spend the winter," Frilian said, pulling out a parchment map. "Winter in the Central Kingdoms isn't as cold as in the north, but staying in the forest for a long time is still quite difficult."

"Okay, whatever you say." Philon said this, but in reality, he was secretly checking whether Frilian had deliberately taken a detour and stopped.

This wasn't unheard of; Frillie often used various excuses to stay in hotels for extended periods in order to immerse herself in studying a particular magic book.

"Grantz... Strait!" Erii's eyes lit up.

"What's wrong?" Frillie asked. "That is indeed a coastal village; we used to live there."

The "we" she refers to is the team of heroes from eighty years ago.

As my thoughts drifted, Simmel's gentle and warm smile inexplicably flashed into my mind again.

Frillie couldn't understand why, ever since Simmel died 28 years ago, she kept uncontrollably recalling that short trip.

It was just a tiny ten years in the long span of her life.
