Erii: A Journey Through the Heavens Begins with Frilian
Chapter 32 The old woman holds a grudge.
Erii found Philon and Shutark in the tavern.
"Do you want some? I'll share half with you," Hugh Tarek said somewhat insincerely, with a giant, colorful berry ice cream in front of him.
"No need." Philon sat down next to him and ordered a hot milk.
The atmosphere was a little awkward.
"We should persuade Ms. Frilian; she must know another way out of the city," Philon broke the silence.
"Yes, I agree. I don't want to stay in one place for several more years," said Hugh Tarker.
Philon felt as if he had found a kindred spirit, and excitedly moved closer to Hugh Tarek, "I knew you were normal, with normal thinking!"
Smelling the faint milky scent emanating from Philon, and seeing the earnestness and joy on Baozi's face, Hugh Tarek muttered absentmindedly, "You're so strange~"
Seeing that they had fallen silent again, Erii stepped forward and took out the packaged pastries, "I bought these for you."
"Miss, we don't..." The waiter looked into Erii's bright, watery eyes and changed his words, "What would you like to drink? I recommend hot cocoa coffee, it goes very well with dessert."
So, a cup of coffee appeared in front of Erii, with a little bear latte art on it.
"I'll take you to the black market later and ask around. Those shady characters always have a way to get out of the city; they have many ways to smuggle goods," Hugh Tarek suddenly said.
"The black market? Isn't it dangerous?" Philon was afraid to talk to people with fierce faces and malicious eyes.
Shutark tossed his hair back, revealing the scar from Aize's accidental injury, and deliberately grinned, saying, "Don't worry, with me here, they'll give me some face."
"Indeed, you look like a bad guy," Philon muttered.
"Does it look like it?" Shutark touched his eyebrows, eyes, and nose.
"Like," Philon muttered.
"Philan, you smiled," Erii said abruptly.
She clearly saw that Philon's lips had just curved into a slight smile, a smile that seemed to go unnoticed even by Philon herself.
"No, I won't smile at this guy," Philon said expressionlessly.
For some reason, Erii couldn't help but smile as she watched the interaction between the two.
……
During the friendly consultation at the black market, Philon noticed a furtive figure flash by.
"Ms. Frillian?"
She followed her and found Frilian holding a magic book, looking around as if she was hiding from something.
"Shh, be quiet," Frillie noticed the three puzzled looks on their faces. "Someone's following me."
"What did you do?" Shutark looked around and found that there was indeed a group of soldiers patrolling and questioning people.
"I didn't do anything, just browsed a few magic shops and bought a magic book," Frilian said casually.
As the footsteps drew near, the group turned around to find themselves blocked in the alley by a group of soldiers.
The captain, who was in the lead, stared intently at Frilian. Just as Erii was about to draw her sword, he suddenly knelt down on one knee.
"My esteemed Lady Frilian, please forgive me!"
The four were taken aback. Frillie felt a sense of foreboding and took a few steps back.
"The captain of the guards has been disrespectful in the past. I apologize to you in my capacity as the acting lord of the city."
The speaker stepped forward; he was a nobleman with gray hair, but who was well-groomed.
"He was just doing his duty as a guard, it's alright, I don't mind," Frilian hurriedly explained, a little flustered. "Besides, I'm not in a hurry to get going at all; I'd rather stay in the city a little longer..."
"Are you setting off for the north again? Have you formed a new team of heroes with your new companions?" The acting lord of the castle asked with deep respect, looking at Erii and the others with admiration.
Before Frilian could object, he continued, "The northern kingdoms are currently embroiled in constant conflict with the remnants of the Demon King's army. You must be deeply concerned about this situation. With such ambition and determination, you truly deserve to be a hero admired by the people. I believe the people of the northern kingdoms will be deeply moved and overjoyed by your righteous actions! Therefore, I hereby grant you permission to pass through the city gates!"
The city lord's agent became more and more excited as he spoke, displaying the same spirit as if he were personally taking up arms and going into battle.
The soldiers behind them looked at the four with intense adoration, their expressions like those of devoted fans.
A high compliment was firmly placed on Frilian's head. The words of the city lord's representative undoubtedly put her on a pedestal. However, Frilian was not good at handling this situation and could not find a reason to refuse. She stood there dumbfounded, and the magic book even slipped from her hands.
It's easy to see how desperate she was.
My plan to slack off is ruined.
"Please come in, gentlemen. We have prepared a special farewell ceremony," the city lord's representative invited.
"There's even a farewell ceremony?!" Shutark exclaimed excitedly. "Let's go then, don't keep the residents waiting."
Frillie glanced at him, her eyes sharp.
A few minutes later.
Erii and the others walked along the main road leading out of the city. On both sides were residents who had come spontaneously. They raised their arms and shouted, all of them beaming with smiles, and showering flower petals with admiration and worship.
"I didn't expect Ms. Frillie's name to be so useful," Philon whispered.
"Fou, you're amazing." Erii nodded in agreement.
"Living a long life definitely has its advantages; so many people still remember you," Hugh Tarek said.
"By the way, did you call me an old woman before?" Frilian suddenly asked.
Philon and Erii, who understood each other perfectly, exchanged a knowing glance, both thinking that someone was about to be in trouble.
"Huh? Really?" Hugh Tarkerton sensed something was wrong, but with so many eyes watching him, he couldn't very well beg for mercy.
"Old women hold grudges," Frilian said casually.
Cold sweat beaded on Shutark's forehead.
The next second, he realized something was wrong.
Why has my top gotten too small?
wrong!
Why have my breasts gotten bigger?
not good!
Something ominous is bulging up!
Stop, stop, stop! It's getting bigger and bigger, it's even filling out my coat!
Shutark's face flushed red, and he hurriedly moved his backpack to the front to cover himself, but his imposing stature was still hard to conceal from the side.
"Damn, when will I ever have pectoral muscles like his?!"
Several burly fitness enthusiasts noticed this and expressed their envy.
At this moment, he was still twenty meters away from the city gate, but Shutark felt as if he were climbing a ten-thousand-meter-high mountain, the heavy weight making him pant heavily.
too exaggerated!
It's going to fall down to my belly!
"Lady Frilian, Sister Frilian, I was wrong~" Shutark pleaded in a low voice.
"Ms. Frillian, is this enough? I'm starting to feel embarrassed myself," Philon whispered, as the stares around them grew increasingly strange.
"Hmph~ I'm not an old woman." Frillie's mood had clearly improved a lot.
As soon as he finished speaking, Hugh Tarek's pectoral muscles shrank rapidly, returning to their original size.
Erii saw this and immediately thought, "This magic is amazing! Who says it's not practical? Its attack power is off the charts!"
Imagine suddenly using this technique on an enemy during a fierce battle. The opponent would be caught off guard and would definitely be greatly affected. Even if they don't die, it would still be extremely humiliating.
What a pity~
Erii regrets that she doesn't have magic. She really wants to learn this magic, as well as the magic of seeing through clothes, the magic of creating shaved ice, the magic of instantly crying, and the magic of growing cat ears.
With these thoughts in mind, she and her companions stepped out the door, officially beginning their adventure in the North.
